I totally understand the trauma iso e super gave you. I had a juliette has a gun « not a perfume » sample that opened in my drawer and made everything smell like toxic waste from a nuclear war. I can’t stand that note in anything. Even glossier « you », or dyptique « eau papier » repulses me now.

I love my perfume addiction. I don’t do alcohol, smoking, drugs or even eating at restaurants. Honestly even an average restaurant for two these days would add up and be spent in 30 min. What works for me is: 1) I have a set pocket money every month I don’t go beyond that, 2) I work, and cook very hard (prep too many family meals so I reward myself with both perfume and clothes, 3) I look for sales, then I buy for the ones mostly on sales, 4) no matter how good I don’t go for the ones with never any sales or deals such as Channel, 5) buy from their own website, that usually have good deals. But I love my perfumes :-)

I feel like I needed a PA meeting (Perfumaniacs Anonymous), and I knew it was a problem when I purchased $1,500.00 worth of perfume in one month alone. It's a real addiction and self-destruction. Then I realized it was not the buying I was after. I just wanted to smell something different. Variety. So things I did to self-heal: 1. I wrote it on my chalkboard with red letters as a reminder how much I spent in April on perfume. 2. Every time I want a new sensory experience I stop by Sephora or Ulta Beauty to smell their oils and frags. Then immediately the need to buy goes away and I leave the store. Now two months later and not a single perfume purchase. You have to work on yourself.

I heard that Rihanna Rogue is a dupe of Coco Mademoiselle and since you have talked about that one so much you should know if that is true right LOL. I am going to get myself Coco mademoiselle as soon as I am able. I have wanted it forever. I am also thinking about buying Armaf Club de nuit as that is supposed to be a dupe and some say even smells better. Have you tried that one?

The whole "It's not about the perfume" thing- definitely not!! I know that, I think a lot of us do, lol. I have always have a thing with becoming super obsessed with something and than wanting to collect it. Personally, I have had destructive addictive behaviors in the past (my much younger years) and over time it has manifested in collecting (mostly books). As I have gotten older (mid 30's now) I have been able to gain more control and have been better about setting boundaries for myself with collecting. Perfume has been a thing for me on and off throughout the years. My collection isn't crazy huge, but it's decent, definitely have dropped some cash on it. My current limit (because I too do the pay over 6 months no interest thing, lol) is $300 and then I have to wait till it's paid down to $50.I really like and agree with what you said about perfume in particular giving that dopamin hit on many levels. It's different than other items because it can be used over a fairly long period of time. Truly does hit all the senses over and over again in a pleasurable way.

I don't have a problem with people earning a living from reviewing fragrances. What I have a problem with is the dishonesty and lack of transparency, which are rampant in the fragrance community. Some reviewers don't bother to inform that they are being compensated to review a fragrance. What's interesting is that, these days, many don't even have affiliate links, but "hype up" scents from a certain brand, just to stay on that brand's PR and get the owner's attention. It's incredible to see so many lose their integrity over a "hey, beautiful;". How is it possible that you love every fragrance from one brand? How can every fragrance be a "masterpiece"?

The vanilla smells nice (I love vanilla), but that mango mood is tempting me.

I was watching Mila Le Blanc’s channel when she was talking about Delina, because she’s been wearing it for years. She said she went to the store to buy another bottle because she was getting low on her current one and that the Delina out in stores now has definitely been reformulated. So my guess is that they’ve watered down the perfume with aroma chemicals. I think it’ll only be a matter of time until IFRA says no more aroma chemicals. They’re really overdoing it in perfumery and causing a lot of sickness as a result. Old school perfumes lasted very well without the need of overdosing aroma chemicals.

Ooooh, Carmen. Your lewk today is so glam and STUNNING! I love to spray my hair, too. I love to buy hair mists for that. I'm not a huge body mist person, although I do love the ones that are moisturizing. You know I love my Island Vanilla (and you even sent me the lotion, you sweet, generous lady!), and so the vanilla skin one sounds intriguing. I know what it's like to drive HOURS to get to a Sephora (and then I know what it's like to be COMPLETELY overwhelmed to be there!) only to discover the one thing you wanted to sniff isn't sniffable! I think I sniffed the mango one as a perfume when i was at a Sephora last time. I think I liked it. I'm going to be in a Sephora this coming weekend, and I have an actual list of what I want to smell/see/touch/lick so I don't get overwhelmed and leave smelling of Kayali, Phleur and disappointment. :p I love that you want to be "less crappy." I think that's a fair goal. And if people are offended and/or comment on the fact that you're going to return those sprays, please send them my phone number and I will have a word with them. I tried them in store and walked away pretty easily from them. They are nice but not something I’d want to spend money on. My favorite body mist lately is the cheroisa 40 from SDJ. I wear it almost every day. I saw that one of the Dime perfumes is similar (but more earthy) and Dapper has a perfume dupe too. I have worn almost a full bottle of the mist (which is crazy for me), 1/3 of the Dime perfume and just started the Dapper one a week ago and already have a dent.

I tried Mango Mood in store last month and I liked it but wasn’t sure if I’d really wear it. I also saw the vanilla one but didn’t even try it because simple vanillas don’t call to me lol- I still want to try the two new fruity ones to see how they come across to me! 😊 you look gorgeous- I love how you have your hair!! ❤

I tried most of these in store and honestly they are ok but not great. I passed on them and don’t regret it. My favorite was the mango. I like that they are better for you but like you I also use the “bad stuff”. If one day I stop using those or finish them then perhaps I will start collecting these instead. But for now I don’t need it because I have tons of other body musts and don’t feel I need to pay the price to add these to my collection at this moment.

100% agree. I personally can't stand everything Demi Rawling recommends. I don't like her Kilian recommendations and I can't stand CH Good Girl I think our tastes are polar opposite which is a shame because I like the format of her content.
