What is the steel spring-looking hanger on your cooking pot? I'm also looking for a way to hang a cooking pan above a fire. Nice video I'm using this.

Hi buddy, the pot hanger is a fish mouth spreader and is quite often used for the purpose of hanging a pot. They can be picked up fairly cheaply on Amazon. Hope that helps 👍

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You carry a few tent pegs which weigh next to nothing. Totally agree that to have them handy when needed instead of what so many on utube do by taking the time to carve some. No it doesn't take long to break a few branches and wack a point on them but you're hardly weighing yourself down with the few ounces these are. For me the same goes with carrying a folding saw. I have one with about an 18" blade and again weighs less than a lb. Yet others will bring only a blade and mess around with a sharp knife in fridged weather to carve notches in a stick and make a bow saw. I never understood that. In the time it takes them to craft their saw I'd have a nice pile of wood cut.

Just came across your channel and enjoyed what I’ve seen so far and subscribed joy to see something that’s promoting the outdoors that the kids can watch too. The bread bag video was a lesson in what I can’t fit in though 😂

Love the video buddy, I recognised the lake as it looked the same when I went about 6 weeks ago, great place and it doesnt get overused due to access restrictions.... :) It just had more water in the lake when we went. We also woke to heavy winds but thankfully they were pushing us so not as bad.... :)

Cheers buddy. Yeah, it's a cracking spot for sure. The packraft makes the access loads easier 😀 I keep meaning to go back and explore the smaller Island. Reckon it would be ideal for a hammock camp. Take care and all the best, J 👍

Okay you sir win the prize. I've been watching tons of video on haversacks and load out and yours is far and away the absolute best! I did not initially like the idea of the polish bread bag but after seeing how it performed and looks after being waxed is damn great! I'll be heading to Amazon to buy one this weekend. Thank you for such a great video sir! Subscribed!! Also, if you ever consider it would love to see a video on how to wax the bag. Man that was a great video!!
@SandybackOutdoors
@SandybackOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Hi Will, thank you so much for your very kind words. I hope that you enjoy using your Polish Bread Bag as much as I still do. Waxing it is quite a simple affair. I use a wax puck of 7 parts paraffin wax to 1 part beeswax and melt them on a stove. Once mixed pour into a cupcake case and leave to solidify. Apply generously to the bag when you are ready and just melt it into the canvas with a hairdryer (That's what most folk tend to use). One wax puck will easily provide 2 applications. I hope that helps. Many thanks again for your comments. Take care and all the best, J 🙏

I need to get up to Alport Moor. I've thought of Doctor's Gate before, but this does cut quite a bit out. -4c Tuesday, so I'm thinking the ground will be hard. Any thoughts? I'm thinking of going up to the Fords and then just yomping NE. I know I'll get wet, but OS says 2hrs. I'll allow 4hrs for terrain but appreciate the input. Love the review and wildcamping.

Hi Chris, have you considered getting up to Alport Moor starting from Fairholmes. A couple of decent routes to be enjoyed from there and you can always extend your hike by taking in the East side of Derwent and Howden reservoirs. Stunning. I'm sure you'll enjoy it pal 👍

I have been all over the internet looking for your mess tin with a handle and lid. the more square nature of it would help me get my choice of gear into my own Polish Haversack the way I want. Once I saw your tin, I thought....Perfect. That's what I need. Right now I'm using a MSR Alpine 750 ML pot, great but round and it would be of great help to find the version tin you have.
