Do have ideas about how to attach two lights at remote switches that light depending on the position of the turnout. I cannot see the lamps on some switches at track level and and want to elevate the 2 lights so I can see them. Thank you.

Great tutorial thanks. But I must be doing something wrong. I bought the Woodland scenics static king and its useless for grass over 2mm I have read the instructions and watched your video but only seems to work on 2mm when I use 4mm and above especially 12mm 70% of the grass is flat I have been using Woodland scenics tac and grass and used the conductor cable and anchor next to where I am applying grass but still no joy. Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Hi Amateur Caravaner, the grounding doesn't sound like it is working. It must be stuck in the area you are planning to glue. Also, try your best to keep the static king 1 inch or closer from the grass. I've been away from the hobby for over a year as I am moving. Let me know if my suggestions help. Cheers

I really like your multi-level and many train tracks. To the other more realistic modeler, not me, I can only bet they think your missing a lot and have to many trains and tracks. As of see a few model train set up on KZfaq you can do what you want. If it about the trains, then run the trains, if it about the scenery go for it. For me I was so often hampered by the scenery point I lost interest in it years ago. Now I hope to have a set up in a few weeks and it will be a train running set up....

That sound would be authentic for most MILW 4-8-4's and the Class A 4-4-2's. The 4-6-4's used the deeper Leslie A-200 Typhon. Horns were used for crossings in high-speed territory while whistles were used otherwise.

Hello Sir I'm very interested in your tutorials. When I saw your videos that featured Dinosaurs 🦕 I've never seen this type of Layout before. I have a question about your Layout if you don't mind Sir Please. I too am interested in the Fastrak Concept, but I've got my share of problems. Sir are you familiar with Lionel Postwar Cars from 1946-1969. In my opinion the difference between the Postwar and Modern Day Freight & Passenger Cars would be The Knuckle Coupler. These cars have a Unique uncoupling system Break Shoes. Don't these cars causes derailments on all O-Gauge Track except the original Lionel Tubular Tracks? Do you own any Postwar Cars? If so do you have any derailment problems on your Lionel Fastrak. I was told about this type of problem from some of my Railroad Club Members when I tried to run my Lionel Postwar Set on the main club Layout table. Do you think these cars can cause derailments especially on Lionel Fastrak? If you have any questions about this I can explain it better by phone if you don't mind. My phone number is 1 (314) 537-4733 Thank you for your time Sincerely Allan Martinez

I have watched several of your videos now. Great work, great layout! I like the variety of passenger stations on the layout, personally, I like the look of the Atlas one the most. Your rock cliffs, ledges and smaller rocks look very good. For the rocky ledges and cliffs you used foam, then covered with plaster cloth, and then painted? For the medium sized rocks and boulders did you use rock molds? I have never used Woodland Scenics scenery paints but it looks like the realism look turns out well on rocks..
@17designs
@17designs 3 жыл бұрын
For the rock cliffs I created the shapes with crumpled tracing paper. Woodland Scenic molds were made with Hydrocal and placed on top of the tracing paper wherever the molds would fit. I often re-used molds rotating them 90 or 180 degrees. Plaster cloth held the molds in place. I then filled all the plaster cloth holes with plaster from a hardware store. For painting I took Woodland Scenic White and added a little dab of Black. Mixed, and painted everything light grey. The creativity happens when using a foam brush and applying watered down pigments of ochre, yellow, etc. Finally, I would give the whole area a Black wash. This added shadowing. Hope this helps.
