Nice job, they don't call them stealerships for nothing, I bought a new truck a few years ago ran across a video on the tube where stealerships would do things to your vehicle to cause you to have to come back for warranty issues, I ran across it again on a forum where folks went in for their free oil change something would go wrong that wasn't a problem before, so they can charge the company warranty charges, free oil changes and inspection are a Stealership Scam. I've always changed my on oil have not had a problem one with this truck like these other folks, I stay away from the dealer free scam crap.

Thank you so much. This is GREAT. I’ve been living with an intermittently bad starter on a 2015 Pro FXT for a couple of years now, postponing its replacement due to dealership costs. Then 2 days ago, my belt finally went. Watching your video shows that this job is far less technical than the quoted labor costs insinuate. The shop quoted $300 labor for the belt, and $800 labor for the starter. $1100 labor total, not including parts. And no, they weren’t willing to combine labor, even though the belt is part of the starter procedure.

I do not envy you on this repair, good catch on the lose bolt and I've never figured out why some people take good care of their equipment, and others are just abusive animals, but I guess that's what pay's your bills. I also made a comment in your earlier video on changing the oil in this type vehicle about using the wrong drain plug. now that this one is disassembled if you would look at 16:46 on the counter at the crankshaft, then go down about 4" at 5 o'clock you can see the other drain plug I was talking about that's a lot easier to get to and less likely to damage it because it's metal where as the other one is plastic.

Just saying, That's not the drain plug you should be using because it's plastic and very hard to get to. The suggested drain plug in on the passenger side at the same level as this one, it's a 9/16' metal plug per the service manual. It's a lot easier to get to! Good luck

@@LazyDWorx Thank you for contacting Kawasaki. We regret to hear that you are having trouble with your recently purchased Mule. The dipstick may have became corroded by short tripping the vehicle. If the previous owner did not let the unit get up to operating temperature when they used the Mule it could have caused crankcase condensation to become trapped in the engine causing the dipstick to rust. Also not changing the oil frequently could also have played a factor. The dipstick tube was updated in model year 2018 to help with this concern. Your model has the updated part. We would recommend having the affected dipstick replaced and to get the unit to operating temperatures when using the machine. Please don't hesitate to contact us if we can be of further service. The above is what Kawasaki replied to me. Apparently mine had the updated dipstick, apparently it doesnt fix the problem

I've read that one is used in suction and the other in pressure but your using the same Napa 400013 filter for both. Any reason to use OEM filters over 3rd party? Wix shows two filters as well (WL10013 and 51367) but no description on their use difference

Most filters are made by the same few manufacturers, I have had good luck with NAPA but any reputable brand it a fine choice. I use NAPA because they were able to look up the filters for me so it made sourcing the filters easier. You could check WIX website to see what differences there are between the filters. Yessir thank you so much for this! I bought a 2024 Can Am Defender XMR and when they sold it to me I went ahead and paid another $1800 for a “24 Month Extended Service” and “36 month priority maintenance” and I called the dealer last week and they are telling me that the service isn’t free. I may seem stupid but I know when I bought the rig, they upsold this maintenance package telling me that the first 8 services were included for free, I called them and they quoted me over $700 for the service. Long story short I asked them to send me a breakdown of what the $1700 package (by line item) I bought and paid extra for even includes, everyone there seems to play dumb w me like they don’t know what I’m requesting to see. So I’m here trying to find out what all I would need to change if I have to end up servicing it myself. This is the first service at 300 miles (not heavy use) Has anyone here ever heard of this? What exactly did they sell me?
@LazyDWorx16 күн бұрын
Glad this is helpful, thank you for commenting. 👍🏼👍🏼 I am not too familiar with options for maintenance/service plans, it could be something offered through the dealer or directly through Can-Am. You should definitely dig into what it is. Whomever sold you the product should be familiar with what they are selling, that is frustrating when you depend on the dealer selling you a product to stand behind what they sell. As far as your first service Cam-Am does not appear to mention a “Break-in” service, however, they are pretty standard industry wide. To be safe around 200-300 miles it is a good idea to change all your oils and inspect everything well, then after that the service interval is 100 - 200 operating hours depending on use. At the end of the day, it’s your machine, I believe it is in every owners best interest to learn about maintaining your machine, dealer can do a good job but most accounts I hear about where people have dealt with dealer the overall experience is poor. What kind of activities are you using your machine for?

Best video on a SXS I’ve seen in a while! The only thing missing is the Increased Interval of Inspection depending on all the Mods/Upgrades that 90% or more of the owners add before the first 50 miles and it’s the types that affect the most. These owners are going with lifts for clearance but mainly so they can add 32-35” tires that immediately impact HP and wear on the rotating & pivoting points and especially brakes! Then adding full sound systems and all the cool cargo racks and LED’s etc… With all the extra weight that would likely change vital fluid intervals plus add extra draw to the stock battery so they add a second battery (weight) and this isn’t even considering the size of the driver or all the stuff they throw in the back of the bed. Then we see them on all the platforms bashing their brand because of this or that and in the end it’s all because of them. Haha I’ve been wanting to put something like this together for a while but I’m glad you knocked it out so well. I do think that another video might be beneficial for people to know how all these mods & upgrades affect the baseline maintenance that you created here. Again, great video!
