I believe that is a Sunset lounge car that was later painted in Daylight colors and is now at the CA State RR Museum in Sacramento along with a matching diner. I don't recall the original car number or the three digit one that later was assigned to it.

There was an old VHS tape - Old Iron Horses Never Die - that had a double-header of these two locomotives around ~1999. The VHS is lost to time, but there's snippets of it on KZfaq. I'm just glad that the title was right. Those old iron horses never die.

Someone says at 5:35, "Man, you can sure hear the GE's in there can't you?" He didn't know he was a prophet. If he only knew...all the changes in a very short time. The red and gray are gone, SD's are all but gone. Only the mountains remain.

Was 12 when I went. Became a locomotive engineer for BNSF in 2010 (hired in 2007) and gave it up after 15yrs railroading thanks to the insane attendance policy they made in 2022. What a shame kids don’t get to experience this type of thing anymore. Guess we can thank people like Katie Farmer, Lance Fritz and Jim Vena for all that now. You know sometimes it’s not always about making tons of money but creating positive and lasting memories.
