modern day skateboards are nor will they ever be a better option than these shaped decks. popsicle decks are just as bland as modern day skateboarders are. you see one youve seen them all. shaped decks back then had riders who were unique and fun to watch. today's skaters are all the same just like popsicle decks. you are correct. modern day skaters have 0 personality lol.

I’ve been skating the first iterations of the trucks ever since I noticed the company is now back in business but I have since lost one of the grub screws and have not been able to find a replacement. Might you happen to know what the name of the screw is? Thank you in advance, I really appreciate your review.

I have never tried to use Ventures as a curb specific truck. I find them to be a great all around truck though I do swap in Indy orange replacement bushings because I find the Venture bushings blow up as soon as they're broke in just like Thunder bushings. I skated a set until the axled and then switched to Grindking Kingpins and rode them on various mess around set ups for a few more years until I left my mess around deck sitting there while I skated my normal deck and someone stole them. So I can't say how much more life I would've got out of had they not turned up missing.

3 years late but thank you I got a few new decks in and were obnoxiously loud and this solved it plus I needed the speed cream! ✍️🫡🏆💎📺🛹💯

my man said" dont worry its not mine" lmao you tell them skater. i wont even touch a scooter because i can see my cool points getting lower just thinking about it. skaters skate long boarders ride. we arent the same creatures.

i dont have any of these trucks but that set screw is in the baseplate reminds me of old fashioned door knobs. it probably holds the nut that the kingpin goes into to keep it from turning. you could put some teflon tape or lock tite on the little screw and that should prevent it from coming out. for as much as these costs they should address that at the factory. those axle nuts are just silly. thanks great job once again family

Hi Thorne, I was wondering if could do an experiment on wheels that touches on a somewhat unclear part of their shapes and duro. I like the shape and feel of wider and softer wheels, but they obviously make the board quite heavier and get sticky. What I would love to see is a methodical showcase of exactly how well they roll, and how they grip. If wheels with the same diameter but different shape and duro were set up on identical boards, (or switching out just the wheels on one setup) then one would ride down a hill leading to a flat area, starting from standstill at the same spot and going down the same trajectory, the difference would be clear instead everyone saying 'I think it's faster/smoother.' Comparing crusty and smooth surface, or doing this with speedometer(gps..?) would be great too to see how exactly they speed up and slow down.
@chrhaddenАй бұрын
i tried using the rubbery type of 1/8th inch shock pad risers and they caused me to slam during a high speed slide to slow down on a hill. they flexed and i was vaulted forward. im trying to warn people. you dont want this hip injury trust me on this. i should have just used wooden ones. i suspect they feel more natural and probably wont twist and flex like these. if you dont do what i do , this might not concern you.
@chrhaddenАй бұрын
i have these wheels too and i agree with every opinion you have on them. i had unreal expectations of them after using the dragons 93a
@chrhaddenАй бұрын
i just moved from indy 159s to 169 titaniums, i always change stock bushings since the 80s. do you think its worth changing the pivot cup to this one? and is it a compromise for turn quality for longevity? and off topic is real denim worth the cost? also that axle rethreader would be very useful if you were to mess the axles up with the nut on the axle when it would be near impossible to get a normal tap set on as you wouldnt be able to get your wheels off

Great video thanks buddy , watched a few of your videos and they are great keep up the good work. Just have a question for you.... my only complaint with the dragons is that i don't like the sound when they slide, too quiet for me. Would you say the spitfires make more of a loud bark like traditional f499s?
@kevinmorriceАй бұрын
can never go wrong with ricta edit: also from experience anything below 85a is a cruising only wheel, 85a is hard enough to street skate and a bit of park, but wheels like these 78's is nasty on tricks

@wolfhands2508Ай бұрын
Totally see where you are coming from on that. The dragons are a little slower I feel. But I feel my back and feet just feel so much better. When I wear these out I will try the new Spitfires. I wanted to try the OJ double duro but the price was so much higher.

The height on the 11s depends on baseplate. Some are 53.5mm (forged baseplate) and others are 55mm tall(standard) The difference is 1.5mm which is 1/16". All stage 4s are 55mm tall. EDIT** Also from independent themselves.. "Stage 4s offer approximately .23" shorter Wheelbase
