Dude, crying about little issues with electronics(common on any car), door mechanism and not the hinge (its what is inside), and the key, its because of low battery. Put the key next to the start button to start the car. Works with most cars when its low on battery. Had a Mercedes no issues at all.

Since the last comment 2 years ago .. I have replaced the transmission control unit $4,500 .. and now my A/C wont work and my radiator fan is always spooling to high speed, even when cold. They don't make them like they used to.

I've had my 2012 R8 V10 for over 3 years now with 36K miles. For tires I'm looking at $500 a corner mounted and balanced but don't track mine either, I replaced the known to fail magride suspension with airlift suspension at around 9K dollars, I've also replaced my A/C compressor at $5,400 - key to this is to ensure your cabin air filters get swapped frequently dirty ones overwork your already fragile A/C system. I have also had both valve cover gaskets redone due to one leaking at a cost of $4600 as well. I have yet to do the brakes, but discovered yesterday my battery needs to be replaced at around $250 since I do the labor myself on that. Oil changes I do myself as well for around $250 since the oil cost has gone up. @R8CaymanMike hope this helps! Read this story about your 3rd problem the COMAND centre. How about this for a NEW!!!! car. In the 1st year of owning the COMAND system failed. Hence no mobile, no radio, no maps not safety controls basically a black screen AND A VERY UNSAFE CAR. After 4 weeks in service it was replaced. 18 months later same issue - replaced again. Exactly 2 years and 1 month later COMAND fault again. Here's the kicker though, the replacement COMAND only has 2 year warranty and guess what Mercedes said. YEP. RIGHT. Out of warranty. Bear in mind this E300e we have owned since new IN 2020 and always serviced by Mercedes has only 46,700Km on the clock and now everything is billable. Guess how much it costs to replace the COMAND module ....198,000Baht equivalent to about $7,000 US Will I buy another Mercedes...NEVER. Let me repeat that NEVER!!!!!!!!!! So our next car is a BMW 530M Sport that comes complete with 5 years unconditional warranty and 5 years complimentary service. OH YES... foregot something. Mercedes do not provide the first service as complimentary...they bill you for EVERYTHING!!!! Don't get me wrong the Mercedes looked beautiful, was lovely to drive but we paid an arm and a leg for it. But its Mercedes. They do not stand behind their product. Everything is your fault and they try to bleed you every way they can. Mercedes product warranty. FACT or FICTION? You choose!!!

I have a 2015 981 Porsche boxster. Customized inside and out and i did 34K miles in it in one year. I have had zero issues with it in my 14 months of ownership. Car sounds like a gallardo with the Intake plenium and intakes. Titanium exhaust is high pitched. I want a 2014+ R8 V10. I daily my car and drive 20K a year and need a reliable car. I have been looking at these a lot. Remember working on your car yourself saves big big $$ as a lot of the parts are cross ref# with other models. I did a 8.8K road trip in my car last summer over three months. I think i can get one of these and pay little to nothing of ownership. I really want a Hurcan as they can be driven daily. Remember some of the maintenance is bs* and is not needed on a daily driven car.

I currently own a 1966 chevy C10! Now let me tell you! It runs heavy and she is a chevy! Now shes a smoker on short runs but cant keep up on the long race. She leaks transmission oil and some engine oil. However before I drive it, I check the fluid and add oil to it.

This is one reason why I did not get the amg cause the the front hood is to long and feels weird but the new 2024 gt is a lot better looking and improved the front hood has been more shortened now

I've had my 2011 v10 r8 since new. Currently less than 7k miles. Besides tires wearing fast, I haven't paid for anything 'extra', just regular maintenance like any other car. The A/C did fail but was replaced under warranty. I buy the Audi car care package thingy or whatever it's called as the 'cost of owning a supercar' and don't have to worry about it. Knowing I would be going to an Audi service department instead of a Lambo or Ferrari service department was one of the main reason for choosing the Audi.

Great review. I have the same car, though a little newer, everything excellent, only gripe was the wheels as well. This was one of Mercedes best cars in dependability.
