I hear what you're saying. Even if one person is very experienced and the other is a beginner, at least if they have shared interest they can build comradery. But when someone has no interest in the process and only wants the result, they're missing the point (which is fine, the choice to miss the point is theirs, but then they shouldn't expect the same level of connection with a community who does understand, or at least shares an interest in, the process).

I am having an issue where MAME is switching my Joystick 1 and 2 randomly. Is there a simpler fix? I am a noob and these instructions seem complicated.

Hello, thanks for the video. I am having an issue with Nintendo_Wii_U and that is no games in that emulator light the controls (I'm using Cemu as the emulator). I have set the default controls but no lights work. I have tried adding a specific game (for example mario kart 8) but this game is not in controls editors unknown game list. This tells me that LED Blinky doesn't even see me launching the game. I have tried deleting the emulator and recreating it using a game that does show up in the list but the controls still don't work even for that specific title. I don't know where to go from here, no web searches lead to anything that relates to this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

@@MavericksArcade I am referring to the optional RGB add on card, more specifically, the add on that lights the trackball. There is two connections. The first goes into the Ultimarc I/O which makes sense, but the other single prong connector that plugs into the card has to be plugged into a ground pin. I only see one ground pin labeled GRD on the Ultimarc card. Apologies for asking such a simple question, but the last single pinned connector has my progress halted.

I had my spinner working but want to change multimouse to 1 in the mame default config file so that I can also use light guns. I changed the config file to reflect "multimouse 1" but you are very brief on what to adjust in mame at 7:30. I am assuming I am supposed to set this in player 1 controls under "Paddle Analog"? No matter what keybind i press it does not map it to the spinner. Almost like its not working but it works in windows.
@MavericksArcade2 ай бұрын
Is you Paddle Device set as mouse like it is in my example?
@andrewlingle89852 ай бұрын
Under input device assignments > paddle Device assignment = mouse. Then under player one controls is it "paddle analog" that I'm supposed to keymap to? Regardless of what I try it does not allow the spinner to input anything. Spinner does work over the screen for horizontal mouse movement though.

I turned 40 this year and the worst part about getting older isn't the extra lines or pounds accumulating on your body or the aches and pains your body develops, but losing people who were once close to you, whether they be old friends who drifted away or close family that's passed away. In a short time I've had a number of people I know pass on, some of them (such as my grandfather) were old and it was to be expected and a few of them who should have had much longer. My father recently had a heart attack and I've watched him diminish from a man who I always thought of as a pillar of strength. I can relate to your situation as I'm sure many can, seeing the one photo at the end of you and your father just having a smoke together was kind one of those 'a picture can tell a thousand words' moments, I can tell you guys weren't just father and son but good friends. My relationship with my father has been strained at times but that photo made me think of how my father has always tried to be my friend. I'll wrap this up by saying, I can relate and I've suffered greatly from depression but what I keep trying to remind myself is that there are still plenty of things to look forward to, if only we can find the strength to stay positive and as they said in Monty Python's Life of Brian "Look on the bright side of life".

If I get the U360 and put the rotary kit on it, which requires either the 4/8 way or octagonal restrictor to be installed, which plate would you recommend putting on? Can the 4/8 way plate be moved by hand from under the panel or would it be easier to just use the octagonal and use the software to make it read as 4 or 8 way? My plan at the moment is to have the main joystick for both players be the flight stick with no plate just using software restriction and have an additional stick with the rotary just for player 1 since playing with others will probably be rare enough that it won't matter if both players have it.
@MavericksArcade2 ай бұрын
You can setup the restrictor to be adjusted by hand. I liked the feel of the restrictor. I actually setup a servostik restrictor on a U360 so it would switch automatically, but that is not officially supported by Andy. I use only servostiks on my big arcade machine, but I will end up using the U360's on my Arcade 1UP mod project. For that it will be 100% software restricted.

Maybe for first setting from app Aimtrack.exe where i use this : On screen TRIG Mouse Left LEFT GP Button 1 RIGHT GP Button 2 Off screen TRIG Mouse Right LEFT GP Button 1 RIGHT GP Button 2 I'm not sure what is the best way. Later mame i would configure my 2 Aimtrack with all others system, RetroArch, Sega Model, Naomi, Nintendo, Playstation, Xbox etc.... Please help me!

At some point I want to build a controller but the more I learn about the hardware the more confused I get. I want to use the U360FS so I have the option of analog or using the software to make it act as 4 way 8 way or whatever. I'm going more for function than practicality so the things I want to do might not make sense but I like to go over the top with my projects at first then scale back on future iterations. So if I understand input and output modes correctly, does that mean I could theoretically use an ultimate board for the actual player buttons and use the pins on one of the joysticks to plug in Pinball buttons? Also I just realized from your other U360 video that there's a rotary motor upgrade for it but I can't seem to find if it would work for the flight stick version or if I should get a flight stick for one player and a regular one for the other player and put the rotary on that one. I'm also planning on doing 2 spinners because I don't ask why I ask why not but that also confuses me because I'm not sure if I should do one on the ultimate and one usb or both usb. My original plan was a 4 player panel but I decided to be practical in that one area and just do 2 player since I don't even have 3 friends to play with. Not only that, the panel will be standalone and not part of a cabinet or pedestal and not permanently attached to the computer so I'm not sure how I'd power it all if the ultimate only comes with a molex adapter. Sorry for rambling and asking so many questions but I'm not at all familiar with any of this and just want to build something cool. I didn't grow up in an arcade so I'm not even familiar with any of the games but want to make up for lost time.
@MavericksArcade6 ай бұрын
For the pinball question yes, you could theoretically do that. For the molex power adapter, you could just get a 12v adapter from Amazon and not use the molex adapter, which is what I'll be doing on my 1UP project :-) I'll definitely be around if you have any more questions :-)

Happy Birthday and Welcome Back! The tips you presented were good and more people should follow them. I work in security, and can confirm that people constantly reuse the same password with minor changes. My recommendation is to use a longer passphrase and not change passwords as often. Something like, "Th15IsTh3B3stP@ssw0rdEv3r!". It is fairly easy to remember, long, and uses Uppercase, Lowercase, Numbers and Special characters. Using a phrase that consists of more than three words make brute force attempts a lot more difficult. Keep up the great work.
