IF Blackie was ever a Ducky, it was well after Ace was gone. They never met until the late 70's in LA. Actually, I think Blackie spouting this back in the early WASP days was just looking for added publicity. Also, Wicked Lester did NOT exist when Ace auditioned, or even when Peter Criss auditioned - that band was over, completely "disbanded" and Gene & Paul were assembling a new ("heavier") band, and once Ace & Peter were "in"...it was a band, who then all decided to call it KISS. Sorry guy, too many errors and rumors-as-fact stuff in this video for me to watch the rest of it...

Like what? Because I said Corabi sang on Swine instead of Motley Crue, cuz I was wrong, or because I said he went to school with Steve Martin, because I was wrong there too, they are about 6 years apart. I did preface the video saying that I got a lot of the the info about his younger years from the book Motley Rock Stories by Jack Valentine and that some of the info could be inaccurate. Just to let you know, just listened to your video and you referenced in 2020 that Ace stated that he had been clean from drugs for 14 years, well just saw him in concert tonight in Marion IL, and he announced that he has been clean for 18 years, which aligns with the 14 years that you heard in 2020, so sounds like he is still moving forward. Also, surprisingly, he closed tonight's concert saying that he encouraged the audience to go home and read their bibles, as soon as I heard him say that my first thought was AA, so again kind of aligns with his sobriety. Again, just wanted to post this as I thought it was interesting based on what you shared on your video. Thank you so much for the information you have shared.

I saw them live and it was one of the best sounding concerts I've ever been to. I love the self titled album. To me it doesn't sound dated even today. @@stevelongmusic880 I like his band, too ... but Eddie was in a time of low-hanging fruits ... just by being guided by instincts you become an innovator because the market wasn't hyperdiverse... the instrument just got 20-30 years of history ... not downgrading Ed genius ... for making something like ED did in his time today, you must to shock and mind blown players like Tori Slusher, Guthrie Govan, Matteo Mancuso, Assato, Derek Trucks, Ichika Nito, Allan Holdsworth (RIP) etc etc etc ... and make all the rest of the players as BB king wannabes ...
@stevelongmusic880

@@firstnamesurname6550 Well one thing that Eddie had was a lack of fear. He would try something just to see if it would work, such as using a Variac with his amps. Who thinks of that? All of the players you mentioned are phenomenal in their own way, including BB. He had his own unique style of playing and his sound, and demonstrated you can get a ton of emotion out of how you play a single note. I doubt we will get another Eddie again, but you never know. Wolf is still young, and he may surprise everyone, or he may not. But if he’s being true to himself, making his own way on his own music like he is now, I say good for him. Good discussion, thx!

He inspired millions of people to grab the instrument ... He helps to build the business of Big Arena Spectacles ( by tolerating Roth Ego but taking the good from him ) ... He set the stick were most of the kids used to measure their prowess and showmanship ... Help, triggered & reconceptualized the sound of the instrument ... Hard Rock and Metal hasn’t been preeminent since post grunge era in early 2000s. Pop punk is probably the genre that is tangentially adjacent to rock that still chart. So, yeah there are talented newer-ish bands that might make some waves (you mentioned a few). But the genre over all is on life support. Where is the next Metallica and GnR? Last band to get hopes up might be Ghost but they’ve kind of petered out.

Yeah you are right, but the record companies don’t push rock, and most stations stick the same old tired rotation.
