Once you do a reset, can you continue to cut at the same hight at reset, and grass will green up? Or will you have to raise your hight to get the green up? In my case I want to keep my cut at the hight I reseted at but I have uneven tones of green now. Will continuing cut at same hight eventually result in a consistent green across lawn?

I’ve been using 6 of these for the past couple of years. Definitely a great alternative to an in ground sprinkler system. I connect one, set a timer, then move to the next. Takes a while, but beats moving and adjusting a sprinkler every time.

Kinda surprised you didn't do an inground system when you tore up the yard after the pool install. The cost would have been insignificant compared to the cost you must have endured with the pool and full sod reno that you did.
@TheALG
@TheALG 8 күн бұрын
Probably, at the time, the pool cost was just so overwhelming. I didn't want to shell out any more money. The property is only 0.25 acre, and I feel 6000 sqft of lawn is manageable without a dedicated inground system. You are right though, looking back I could have done this myself easily.

So you still have a hose strewn about the yard? what is the benefit of burying the sprinkler if thats the case?
@andy_byrd
@andy_byrd 8 күн бұрын
Wondering the same thing. Now you can't even move it around to get more areas!
@TheALG
@TheALG 8 күн бұрын
Still have to move the hose to the sprinkler but because its stationary, you don't have to adjust it after the first time. The key is to have more than 1 to cover more areas. This works even better if you have a hose timer to come on before the sun comes up.
@phidip2328
@phidip2328 8 күн бұрын
@@TheALG Can you daisy chain multiple units these together underground? That would provide a big benefit because then you would only need to plug your hose into one place to have multiple sprinklers running..
@TheALG
@TheALG 8 күн бұрын
@phidip2328 no and yes. I have 4 zone timers with each going to the different snap n go. I just run the hoses the night before, then pull them back the next morning. The timer starts the watering cycle at 4 a.m., going through all the zones, and it finishes at about 6 am. As for your question, the units will not allow you to hook them up together, or at least I don't see how it os possible.
@phidip2328
@phidip2328 7 күн бұрын
@@TheALG Ah, so that seems like the way to do it with the timer cycling through multiple hoses. I guess that is the best way to copy the effect of an in-ground irrigation system, but at a much lower cost (and I presume no permit is needed to install this compared to an in-ground system).

I'm still confused why you don't fertilize before you put the sand down. Does it make a difference?
@TheALG
@TheALG 9 күн бұрын
My reasoning is because to minimize movement of the fertilizer. Putting it down first before then putting the sand down and using the leveling rake will not only make the sand move but also the fertilizer. Even if you water it in the day before, there will always be some granular particles left behind. This is just from my personal experience but whichever way you decide won't make a huge difference, just a minor difference.

I really appreciate this video. I am so tired of weeds I live in Clearwater Florida and I want to know if I use for the first layer black either lava or river rocks or just black stones small ones and then on top of that use the larger stones will that prevent weeds from coming through because it's filled the whole ground? I hope you answer me I will check back to see thank you
@TheALG
@TheALG 11 күн бұрын
Regardless of whatever type of rocks you use, weeds will still pop up if allowed to go unchecked. The best coarse of action is get rid of the current weeds which will take alot of work then lay the rocks. As a maintenance routine, lay down preemergent like preen in your beds to prevent weeds every 3 to 6 months.

NICE VIDEO! Can you test a lawn mower robot? Want to buy a lawn mower robot but don't know which brand is more reliable.
@TheALG
@TheALG 12 күн бұрын
To get a fair test, I would need to try multiple robots from different brands. That would be costly in the short term. Some youtubers who put a video about only one type of robot are most likely being paid to put positive reviews. A comparison video would be more beneficial to the viewer.

I have seen people mowing with electric mowers in my town and they are crap. They are not powerful enough if your lawn gets more than 2 inches high it will not cut it. There’s not enough power in an electric mower. I don’t care what voltage it is it will not cut it if your battery is running down it will not cut it. You get the same consistent every time until you run out of gas. It is my opinion electric mowers are just a waste of money. They’re too expensive to buy one and you didn’t talk about how much it would cost for the repairs on the gas versus electric and I’m sure the electric one is much much more expensive to have repaired

You notice any issues thus far with the metal couplings in the hoses you've used? They will react with the chlorinated water running through them, but hopefully not enough to cause rapid wear. 🤞 I'm in the process of building a solar pool heater too. I have my sights on poly line and compression couplings. I like your submersible pump idea, I'm definitely leaning that way over finagling with the addition of a multi-line heating setup into the pool's original circuit. Simplifies things, easier time with adapters, plus a redundancy with the second pump! 👍 Your setup is sweet! If I end up with something like it and it works with minor TLC for 3-4 years, I'll be quite satisfied. ❤

I notice some minor corrosion but during the off season, I try to stay on top of it by cleaning it with a wire brush and putting petroleum jelly. I also unscrew it once a month to make sure the couplings dont get stuck. The hose it'self is going strong

I bought a 4 gallon battery pump to treat with Dimension. If I am treating roughly 2200 square feet 4 gallons is way too big correct? I figure 2 gallons should be enough for my lawn. I am asking because I can still return it for a smaller one since it hasn't been used.
@TheALG

Practice walking with plain water and see how much you can put out walking at a comfortable speed. Whatever amount you calculate, just fill enough water to spray over your yard. I would still keep the sprayer because battery is the way to go, and it doesn't hurt to have a 4 gallon.
