Oh I'm so glad for this video because I recently bought AH041 from Hoyapassion. She wasn't looking so great for a while and I thought I might lose her. But now she's growing new leaves and I'm so happy. The somewhat olive green matte colour of the leaves with the splash is just so attractive to me, a very nice looking hoya.

Yikes! Mealies are devil spawn. I use alcohol in a spray bottle. But on my Hoya carnosa compacta, it can only reach certain places. I even submerged the entire plant in soapy water and I still have mealies. I have learned to accept that there will always be some. I keep them at bay the best I can. 🤷🏼♀️

Hi Nero, an advice pls, when you put the hoya lockii cutting in coco peat and perlite in prop box, you lift the cover a bit or totally closed and you will open the lid after some days? This is my second time of ordering hoya lockii and the leaves are dried after traveling. Please help me thankyou

hey, I have a question: how to stimulate the hoya seedling to grow? a year ago I accidentally tore off one large leaf from my hoya. I put it in water and it took root. then I planted it in the ground. One year nothing happens. The leaf has taken root nicely, but no shoot is growing from it. Do you know if there is a chance that something like this will grow into something? And the second question is, have you used cytokine paste on hoyas and how does it work? Thanks. great channel and you are a great guy<3

Im listening intently and have learned so much from you. When talking about your plants here, what determines for you which Hoyas go into self-watering pots and which go into an organic mix? How do you know which would work better for the specific Hoya?
@BasiePlants6 күн бұрын
I put most of my Hoyas in organic mix :) As for the self-watering - I would put thinner leaved species first into self-watering and then the rest. It will also depend on the size of SW pots awailable to me and the size of the plant/ cutting - for example, despite that one amrita being a thin leaved hoya, I simply don't have such small SW pots, so she will remain in the cup for some time :)

How often do you recommend repotting your hoyas? I have some that I have had for a long time, in organic mix, that I have not repotted ... and I am starting to think I should probably do that lol.

What is that copper wire you have for the trellises? What is the diameter?
@BasiePlants6 күн бұрын
I am not sure what it would be in inches, but it is a 3mm wire. :) It is not copper, it is aluminum wire that is colored so it looks like copper. Actual copper one would be too expensive :D I think they call this a craft wire in the US.

I am new to Hoyas and would love to see you water your hoyas, and what gauge is that copper wire and could you leave a link for it? And what is that "little thingy" tube you put down in the pot? Us newbies would love to know all that!
@BasiePlants6 күн бұрын
The wire I got is a 3mm. :) I am not sure what that exactly is in inches :D (it is also copper, but aluminum made to look like copper as atual copper would be too pricey - I think this is called craft wire in the US) A watering video might be interesting! :) I haven't done it in a while... or ever :D (I mean the video, I actually DO water, despite what I say xD) The tube I used something that came with the self-watering pots - it is a water level indicator :)
@cab86586 күн бұрын
@@BasiePlants Thank you! Yes any and all tips would be helpful. As in, how to water using the self-waterers, how much water to put in. Also, how and when you fertilize. Love your channel and I look every day for a new one!

I lose tags all the time however I don’t remember which Hoya it was! 🥺 This week is in the history books…some of my coworkers have been kinda dramatic but I’m trying to ignore it. I was watering and wiping leaves checking for pests. I go in sections at my house, I have quite a bit of plants. Love your personality… you always make me laugh. I can relate…current me making plant problems for future me. Loving your Hoya Amrita!

I didn't like this week either, and next week isn't looking any better. Long live upskill training...yeah, yay not yay. LOL Anyhoo, it's a long weekend here at least. I'm also enjoying my hoya Patricia telling the other 17 hoyas to hold her fertilizer while she gives a masterclass on how to grow. 4 new leaves and at least another 6 growth points. Oh, and I've had her just over a month! Happy Canada Day tomorrow. 🇨🇦 ❤

I am sorry your week hasn't been the best! I do hope the next one has some surprises - GOOD ONES! :D Oh, Patricia is such a good Hoya! I really miss mine (it has been DESTROYED by mites). I really should get a new one. Such an easy grower and a fantastic bloomer! Happy Canada day to you!

I’ve decided to not Pon my Hoyas but use Leca instead. Leca doesn’t hold moisture as well as Pon and Hoyas like to dry out a tad between waterings and this will be easier in LECA. I’m also going to keep one in soil to compare. Tfs
