Dr. Otto uses controlled mass tones and varying levels of gradation for individual brands, pigments, and applications. Check her out she rocks.

FYR only.....My Mineral Violet (PV 16) in tube, which has inexplicably hardened like a stone, while the rest of the tubes remain fresh and usable, and nobody from M Graham is responding.

Puffins are a lot smaller than you might think. In Newfoundland you can take the bird Island Tour to see thousands of them. Its certainly a sight to behold. Great job Michael!

Hi Michael, Yes, I was in the Live......I had to do a re-watch on the ending because I received a phone call, and it took me off the Live!! The painting came out AWESOME as always!!

Very disappointing brand. I've got kolinsky - synthetic one. Its tip was split right after removing the factory glue

Wow. I'm a bit surprised. I still use these brushes. They are in my Plein Air kit and work wonderfully for me. I'm sorry you don't have the same experience.

Love this painting. I'm from Louisiana and it was owned by the French and there's a lot of French people still living there. You could visit the French French quarters in New Orleans and it will give you a little taste of France.

I've been to Louisiana once. It was a long time ago. Mostly I don't venture to far from home anymore, but I do remember Louisiana being beautiful.

I live right in the middle of these national parks and visit them frequently (Zion, Arches, Bryce, Canyonlands, and Capitol Reef). The geology in southern Utah is truly spectacular. I love it! And what great places to paint!

The paper has a lot to do with color saturation. I prefer to use 100% cotton 140# or 300#.
