Love these ideas . I don’t do this every night but I’ve noticed a light back scratch while he’s in bed helps my son . He’s still young so it’s not weird to him yet lol . I’m often very tired so I told him I’ll give you twenty back scratches … meaning twenty strokes up and down his back . That way I know I have an end in sight to lol ( his mom may be adhd to ….what can I say 😂) . After that I let him watch a ten to fifteen minute KZfaq video(a calm one) then we put on meditation music . He also likes to use pillows to form a bit of a fort around him with his covers over the top so no light gets in . Something about a fort or being completely cocooned in the blankets helps him . I’ve began to notice , lately, the KZfaq video and meditation are starting to lose their effect after years of using it so I’m getting worried lol . He is about to enter puberty … he’s eleven and I’m noticing acne coming out a little on his face so possibly, puberty is also changing his natural circadian rhythms to wanting to go to sleep later at night which I’ve just seen in another video is a thing … oh yay lolol .

I organize my tools like this. 1. 2D layout - I lay all the items all on the floor in one layer and then take a small "grid square" to be placed on a part of a wall, in a drawer, case, or on a cabinet door. 2. Puzzle piece - i custom cut kaizen foam (layered foam) for each tool and its accessories. It only accepts the designated tool 3. Auto spread - i attached the bits to the case lid. Whan i open it, it exposes more bits.

I associate food with waking up (so i binge in the morning and if i don’t immediately eat I don’t start the day), with avoiding studying, with getting home (so i binge a lot at night)

Hi Natalie, I’ve been struggling through a divorce with a high conflict ex. Since been diagnosed with ADHD, I’ve intensely researched and listened to ADHD, codependent, supportive videos. I have not found any information that express the difficult effects of ADHD when dealing with divorce. Unfortunately, my ex has taken full advantage of the situation and contributed to extensive financial, custodial and emotional loss. I was very heartened to hear your message, there seems to be little understanding or support of caring parents, who struggle with ADD during divorce. This is even more true for a man dealing with the very real biased of family court and a high conflict ex. Do you work with men? Or do you know of groups that focus on addressing these difficulties with men? Thank you for doing the important work of getting this information out there, you are right there is a very little understanding and support of this situation.

As a clinician myself with ADHD, what I see with the fasting method is that it provides you with the structure we struggle with and this is why is successful. Another things I see is that she had access to accountability by interacting with the nutrition coach she mentioned early on and that worked with our human biology is to be connected with others and this nutrition coach gave her interventions that healed patterns of an eating disorder. Because, with ADHD most women will develop an eating disorder and therefore, I encourage that as you treat your ADHD you also treat the binge eating disorder. We must undo the damage that untreated ADHD can cause (depression, general anxiety, OCD, social anxiety, eating disorder…) and although is a painful journey, it is one of the most rewarding one.

I hyperfocused on calorie counting for a while, so it was easy for me then! However, the obsession has worn off and I don't count anymore, but the thought that I can eat anything I want but just not all the time works so well for me. I don't do intermittent fasting, but I'm trying to pay attention to how much I have eaten in the current day and yesterday and what I have planned for tomorrow and try to be cautious I don't eat too much overall. It sounds like common sense, but it really works and I never knew it could be like this.

Someone tells me why I’m having extreme difficulty in writing and expressing my thoughts 😭 I’m literally having arrhythmias because of the stress I go through when having to right a paper. I tested for dyslexia and I don’t have it. I also never had problems writing or reading when I was a child. I’m literally struggling through college and I have no excuses for the professors. I’m 22 and English is my second language. I have ADHD and possible autism

For being such a heavy duty binge eater I am so seriously surprised I don't weigh 400 plus pounds I'm a "heathy" and athletic looking 6ft, 195lb guy ,height weight proportional. It's honestly sickening sometimes how much food I can eat in one day. BIG bags of candy, yeah no prob in one day. Nom Nom Nom!! Can probably eat what a family of 4 does in one day no sweat some days. Maybe it's like Richard Pryor said about coke, he said "I'm not addicted to cocaine I just like the way it smells" , well I'm not addicted to food I just like the way it tastes!!! What things? ALL THE THINGS!!!

I am a surgeon and my wife diagnosed me with adhd because i wasnt able to drive more than 1 hr without feeling very sleepy. The most happy i am is in surgery, only place i can stay super focused. Otherwise everything is boring and i have been battling with my weight. Although most surgeons around me are super fit , I just can't. Gym is so boring.

I was overeating since I was little and I also suffered from undiagnosed hypothyroidism. I was diagnosed with ADHD two years ago and no one told me how to handle and what the symptoms of ADHD even are. With my meds I didn’t feel addicted and dependent on food for the first time but binge eating is still such a big problem for me. I feel hopeless but I think it’s comforting that I am not alone and I try to use your tips now into my mindset. I lost a lot of weight and currently putting it on again so I feel frustrated and out of control. This video though definitely helped me to find out the flaws of my eating habits. Thanks a lot! ❤

@SillyGoose-tz7ns yeah I normally would do this.( You can skip this part . Just read the last sentences. I am probably over sharing)It’s probably another issue that worsens my problem . Currently I don’t have any free time though but I already started losing weight again. I mean I already lost 15 kg in the last few months but I am currently at a point were I can’t proceed losing as much weight as I want to. I would love to lose another 15 kg so I’d be finally normal again. I mean I suffered from being overweight since I was 11 years so I am afraid off gaining weight again, so the comment was for letting of steam. I mean I currently have issues with the meds. I can’t eat the whole day but afterwards, can’t control myself. I now eat breakfast first and then take my meds. Plus I drink Orange Juice or Smoothies if eating seems to difficult. Thanks for the suggestions though. It is a really a good one. I appreciate it.❤️

🙏 Thank you for posting! I experienced my thoughts rapidly racing to the point when you can see them materializing. One thought comes and before even gets a hold another one is coming. I had an experience with gummy( marijuana) that night and it was the worst experience ever. You can see ADHD very clearly almost loosing your mind. Thank you again for posting and enlightening us.❤

When people use "former/latter" in a sentence I'm always wondering why they assume I can just remember what they said and keep it in order. Don't they understand that requires executive function? Talk about one thing at a time. On the bright side, I think that helps me become a good writer because I can notice complex sentence structures and then rewrite it so that it can be understood easier.

I constantly obsess about food, but don't really ever exactly feel hungry. I can lose weight by just not eating for a week. I obsess even more about food while fasting, but still never notice any physical symptoms of hunger. If I'm not fasting I have problems binge eating.

You never realize how much something affects your life until you see how much it's part of your life and what you do every day. So I am a strong proponent of if you think something is wrong or doesn't feel right do what to can to get tested and figure out what is wrong. Because it could have been causing difficulties in your life you didn't even realize.

GUM! As a binge eater for years, it took me quite long time to figure out that gum really helps. I use it to stay awake and focus for studying and paper-writing, when I work (sort of down-low, as I know it's not considered professional). One weird thing I do that gets a little pricey but it's all in perspective...I get the large multi serving of Ice Cube sugar free gum since they have a bunch of flavors. Then as I study, I'll chew until the flavor is gone (not that long), then repeat. The rationale is that a half-gallon of ice cream costs the same - but I don't gain weight with the gum. Plus, when I went to the dentist after 10 years....no cavities. As a sweet eater, that's crazy!
