I've been watching videos on gongfu tea for a little while and I finally decided to get some for myself, I haven't bought a full set yet I just decided to get a minimal travel set and some nice teas to give it all a try, and I couldn't resist ordering a cute little friend, but my question is, how do I feed my tea pet without a tea tray? Can I just put the pet on a plate or something and pour the wash over him or is it bad for them to sit in the tea for an extended time?
@teaformeplease
@teaformeplease 14 күн бұрын
You can definitely put them on a plate or in a bowl. Some people just like to have them sit nearby too. The great thing about tea is that there really aren't any rules. Discovering what works best for you at the moment is part of the fun. 😊

Hello Nicole, I would like to drink tea on my camping trips. I just got a titanium gaiwan and love it, but I am struggling on keeping water at temp any tips?
@teaformeplease

That can definitely be difficult. It might help to invest in a really good thermos that can keep the water hot for a long time. That way you only have to heat it once rather than keep boiling it.

Is your filter able to come out? Mine is loose and easily comes out so when I put the water in it floats up a bit causing tea leaves to fall below in the ball section. Just wondering if I should do something to the filter other than place it down.
@teaformeplease
@teaformeplease Ай бұрын
The fiilter is able to come about but I haven't had any problems with it floating out. It does have small metal legs on the underside that hold it in place. Maybe yours might have gotten bent out of shape?

Great video😊 I may just try that cocktail shaker cup just to rule out if its necessary to invest in the bamboo whisk Ive had the hardest time trying to decide if I need the bamboo whisk or not, it would be great if I can do without it because of the particulars with the maintenance of it, ughh😂 Ive tried the handheld frother but honestly it didn't seemed blended enough and also I didn't want to overblend it with the handheld frother Ok ok enough talking Thanks again for the suggestions🌸☺️

What are the best ways to heat and preheat the cast iron tea pot?
@teaformeplease

You would pre-heat it simply by filling it with hot water and then dumping that out when you're ready to brew.. The teapot should never be heated directly.

mehhh, if you unplug it, the clock resets, so I had to manually set it every day. Also, the preset for tea types can't be customized, meaning I had to change it every morning. (since my oolong tea requires 8 min brew time) Plus, the maximum auto brew time is just 10 minutes, so no strong herb tea for me. I was pretty disappointed.

If your cast iron teapot is not enameled inside it does add iron to your tea just like any cast iron cookware it will add iron to your food and tea which is a health benefit.
@teaformeplease
@teaformeplease 2 ай бұрын
If it is not enameled then it is a kettle for heating water rather than a teapot. It will change the taste of the water and add some iron to it. That being said, tea can interfere with iron absorption so I wouldn't recommend doing it for the purpose of health benefits.

Hi Nicole. I have a question about green tea. Most Indian green tea brand have this green tea that on brewing doesn't actually look green, but they have a brownish color. I wanted to know why is that, and if those are not authentic green tea. I have seen on the internet the green teas that are very frankly bright green, but any green tea I buy turn out to be brown. Is that harmful and fake? Could you also please suggest any good green tea brands that you know of that will brew authentic green tea if possible?
@teaformeplease
@teaformeplease 3 ай бұрын
I wouldn't say that the tea you have is fake or harmful. It's important to keep in mind that India is primarily a black tea-producing region. Other categories are fairly new, or even experimental, for the tea makers there. This means that processing methods might not be as well defined as what you might find in a place known for green tea, like Long Jing in China. Most green teas do not produce a green-colored infusion. They tend to be more yellow or brown. In my experience, the only ones that do look really green are Japanese green teas such as sencha or gyokuro. It is because the leaves are steamed during processing. If you would like to find good quality green tea in India, I highly recommend anything made by Gopaldhara Tea.

It's not just a kettle. It also brews the tea for you and keeps it warm. Not everyone needs those functions so a basic kettle may be a better option if that's the case.

It definitely shouldn't leave burn marks. Make sure to only use tea light size candles. The flame should not be able to touch the teapot. Since it's only on the outside it should be ok, but keep an eye out for chipping paint or enamel.

I've been collecting tea pets since i was a tiny child, have always been drawn to them but I mainly have porcelain and ceramic ones, lots of tiny fish. My favourite is my tiny horse foal hand carved from quartz. My biggest concern is cleaning any kind of these babes, whether they're from my porcelain cabinet or the friends i keep seeing at the thrift stores I'm just concerned that they could be contaminated with an allergen or even just grime. And is it only the special clay that can be used or can some of my great grandfather's creations be used as tea pets without causing damage? Are there woods that are safest as i do have many of his carvings from every kind of tree he's seen. I don't wanna abuse my poor lil tea pets like I do my plants
@teaformeplease
@teaformeplease 4 ай бұрын
Almost any object that can withstand hot water can be used as a tea pet. Lots of people do use rocks, crystals, and ceramic figurines. Wood might get disfigured over time so I would avoid sharing tea with those carvings. They can still join you on the table though!

Hello, I have grown up with cast iron (pioneer Grandma lived next door) and inherited a full set which my wife and I have used through the last 43 years. But the big cast iron water pot always get some rust inside and it can even pit the wood sto e if you are not careful. During the January cold spell we fired up the wood stove and then rinsed out the rusty pot, which got me in trouble because I used the wrong rag. She said the tea was just fine and so was my coffee. I dried it out with hot air when the electricity and gas furnace went on. I wondered what would happen if I seasoned it with some olive oil to stop the rust. ??? My wife says oiley tea and I wouldn't use it to pour over my coffee. 😂
@teaformeplease
@teaformeplease 5 ай бұрын
Interestingly, the best thing to help rust is tea. Fill the pot about 70% full and bring to a boil. Add a healthy amount of green tea (old or low grade is fine) and boil for 30 minutes. Wait for 24 hours before cleaning.
