I just re jetted my 2024 DR650 per ProCyle's instructions after installing a slip on exhaust. I opened the air box per the diagram provided by them and installed the 150 jet. The bike runs so much better, it is way more responsive and has a lot more power over stock.

Update on the Anakee Wilds. Somehow I picked up a deck screw in one of the center lugs of the back tire and it punctured the tube, I was just going for a quick ride and didn't have any tire tools or a spare tube. The tire is so stiff that I was able to ride it out and get to a nearby shop without issue and I'm 230lbs. It didn't even feel sketchy but I was going really easy. So far I'm pretty impressed with these tires.

When I first got my DR 650 back in 2016 I did the Pro Cycle kit and airbox mods along with a Hayabusa muffler and Pro Cycle mid pipe kit. Sounded good and ran much better than stock but I did take a hit to the mpg. I recently installed a Mikuni TM40 and a full FMF system, huge difference in throttle response in every gear and not that much louder.

To anybody that will listen if you do get the procycle jet kit and decide to cut the airbox and want to run the 150 or 155 you cannot use the PC needle it'll never run right it'll always be to rich. You have to buy the 6F19 needle. Its stock but with adjustable clip. The PC needle is way to aggressively tapered. Trust me it took me months to figure that one out. Now my DR run great and still gets 45 miles to the gallon. But you can use PC needle if you never cut the airbox and leave the exhaust stock and never go higher than the 145.Oh yeah and never cut the spring on the carb it causes surging bad but you can add the third hole.

Nice looking DR 👍 I dig the wheels ! Completely unrelated: I might be wrong but it seems like you have your handle bar in the factory position 🤔 I have a 2022 DR and when I bought it (used) that’s how the handle bar was. It felt so awkward standing up ! I rotated it forward as much as I could and what a difference!!!! it probably depends on your size but if it feels you’re gonna fall over the handlebar when standing up, try that before getting risers or new handlebar! Cheers ✌️

Im 6’2” and you are correct standing on this is not comfortable for me at all. In fact I rarely do it unless Im doing some trail riding over some rougher terrain. I take it fairly easy for the most part though. Staying in 2nd gear sometimes 3rd for stretches. Been thinking about risers though.

I made a mistake in the video of where the plug caps go. They will plug the ports on the pair valve itself, not the plastic T by the carb. That way you can keep the pair valve on the bike if you ever want to hook it back up. This way you only have to remove the hoses.

I have a similar setup without the airbox mod. I just picked up a 2024 and didn’t want to start cutting it up yet. ProCycle sells a kit exactly for no airbox mod. These are what my carb mods. It’s the FactoryPro kit. #45 pilot jet(stock is #42.5) #145 main jet(also comes with 142.5 and 147.5 that I haven’t tried. Stock is 140) Shorter spring Comes with titanium needle. I believe I used 3rd from the top I also installed a new fuel mixture screw. Stock was screwed all the in. I have it 3.25 turns out. Runs excellent with those mods. I don’t even need the choke anymore. Throttle response is snappy. My kit didn’t come with the spring because they forgot to put them in a couple kits. I just got the spring in the mail today and I’ll probably install it tonight. So I don’t know if the spring helps much.

Oh and anything over 87 octane gives no benefit. Ethanol free is a better expenditure of funds. I get 50mpg on almost any terrain, stock fueling and exhaust. I dont do expressways but when riding to the mountains that are 100 miles from me, I still get 50mpg, even with the 14t up front. Enjoy the ride man, I might rejet when I put this 40F0 GR1000 pipe on it. Thanks for the insight.

I wish we had ethanol free around here, so I just put 91 in. I was getting 42-48 sometimes 50 depending how I ride with stock jetting. Just fueled up today and got 37.8 mpg with recent riding but been riding extremely hard and above 80 lots of times. Otherwise seem to get like 42mpg with the 145 main jet and needle on 3rd knotch turned a hare over 1 full turn out. Never modded the airbox and don’t want to.
