You would ask, “How are you still alive” or “this isn’t possible” or “it can’t be” or “I can’t believe it” or something else incredulous. Not, “oh why dear boy, what on Gods-Green-Earth are you doing here?”. It’s ‘forced’ dialogue for the unimpressive line, “I’m here to kill you”. It wasn’t even worth the payoff. Such kindergarten writing in a stupidly big-budgeted tv show.

I feel bad for smiling at that hand gag. The way the actor said that line and moved - like he was giving his all for that one scene!

In the ACOLYTE show I see the Jedi as more FBI agents protecting the political agenda of the current people in power instead of being local police. I am trying to give the series a chance to tell me a good star wars story. So far the creators are failing. I'll keep watching and see if future episodes are better than the first 2.

We already had a show that displayed the grey morality between the villains and the heroes. It's called Andor. The only reason it's good is because disney didn't meddle with it.

I'm trying to imagine what my experience would've been if I hadn't known about the twin going in. I think I would've had the gut reaction that girl is being mind-puppeted into being an assassin with someone else's motives? Especially when they introduce a creature in the prison break that is supposed to alter the mind. Then when they reveal it's actually Evil Twin, I would've rolled my eyes even more than when I encountered the spoiler.

The only logic I can make out of the illogical assassination attack is to belittle Trinity to the public and get the public to go against her if she wins killing an "unarmed" assassin or to be shown as jedi are weak for losing to a dagger. As a political attack makes sense but everything else is a joke

One of the biggest accidental fuckups was missed here. The entirely droid operated ship confims the last thin thread by which TLJ was defended is a lie. Entirely autonomous hyperspace missiles should, even moreso than the existing expectation, be incredibly common WMD's in the SW universe.

I do think it is pretty short sighted to not be able to imagine whatever the events of this story are being the catalyst for why the Jedi then become to paranoid about being seen as stepping over their bounds. To call that out as a failing of the series when it's not even to the half-way mark is a reason no one listens to these sorts of videos and any legitimate criticism they may have.

btw, I didn't know about the whole twin sister thing before watching the show, so while I was watching the first episode I was considering various scenarios of what they were going with in the story. I think halfway through the episode I thought to myself: "Wouldn't it be really stupid and corny if they went with a long thought dead identical twin sister reveal" and lo and behold.... (I think I even slapped myself across the face for good measure when they actually confirmed the "twist")

Man, legends did all of this so much better. There was conflict and strife before the prequels, because of course there was, its a whole galaxy with many different issues going on. I mean Qui-gon and Obi-wan were kind of specialists in going to dangerous situations and conflicts and figuring things out. The world made much more sense and was more fleshed out in oretty much every way. I also have to say that there could be explanations for some force powers and not using them in earlier movies. It could be argued that vader didn't catch Luke because he had somewhat forseen his son joining him at some point, or at least his survival. Even something like force healing can be introduced if it is an extremely rare and/or specialized force ability that takes years to learn and the jedi order had some. Obi-wan, being an average jedi at the end of phantom menace, likely would not have had the ability of knowledge to save Qui-gon. Legends had these more understandable and likely explanations. But Rey should not have been able to use it. Vaders lack of force usage in certain OT scenes can be somewhat explained too. It just needs to be done well, and Disney has never been able to do that while legends did.

Or are they just Space Disney and all of the above apply because they want to see how quickly they can blow all their cash?

I'm not ashamed to say this but I've wached pretty much every Disney Star Wars project besides one or two of the Cartoon's, giving star wars more of a chance then the majority of the slop that's come out of the MCU.....But when I saw the trailer for the new show it looked boring and uninteresting and that they we're more focused of diversity then actual good story and characters, so many other movies and shows and even recent stuff can have good character's of different races,genders and religions....Big Studio's just choose to hire inexperienced writers and yes men because it's cheaper then getting someone that knows what thier doing

The actors are not fans. What's next their favorite star wars lines "live long and prosper," "I'll be back," or "I'm Batman." They are less prepared than a reality show.

Honestly, I was mostly just confused/annoyed by the Osha/Mae opening. I deliberately avoided most of the marketing so as to go in as neutrally as possible, but with Disney's appalling track record with "villains" (who are supposedly redeemable and just misunderstood despite their atrocities) I spent most of the first ten minutes rather annoyed, under the expectation that we were about to be suffering a show in which a Reva-style character was the main protagonist, then confused because there was a few things that were off about Osha as apposed to Mae, specifically the shorter hair. I think the misdirection could have worked okay if it wasn't under the shadow of the past many Disney Star Wars failures. That's not to say its the most groundbreaking writing technique, but I can't say it breaks anything, just that I don't think there's any real point to it other than the writers wanting to do misdirection for all of about twenty minutes for some reason. On a side note, I doubt it was done deliberately, but as a blue-collar worker I found it quite funny that Osha is working as a illegal repair mechanic which is supposed to be dangerous enough that only droids should be doing it. I appreciate the irony. On another side note, I would like to point out that I have seen multiple fan-made lightsaber fights/short movies that utilized the same text over stars opening, which is not a compliment to the show. If anything, it made it feel very jarring in the opening moments. I can't really say if that's entirely the show's fault, but I personally think that outside of the major movies, they should probably consider dropping the whole opening crawl. It makes more sense in the movies, but you have much longer to work with in a show, so whatever you are going to put in the opening crawl should be explained within the show itself. It just becomes a shorthand for exposition, rather than putting forth the effort to write in or show what the state of the galaxy is at the current time.

"The Force is Female" is on many levels a problem for the Canon here is why. That would mean the Force is self aware, making it an actual entity. what means Anakin was Chosen by an actual being to carry out "her" will. What means the Force itself is in constant battle with "her"self because "she" cant balance herself out. The implication of that alone would reshape the entire meaning of SW as a whole and Anakin Skywalker. This is so, so wrong.
