An additional note, in the event that you would like to make phone calls, send SMS messages, or something along those lines, the Arduino if you use it, requires a SIM module (7600, 7670, etc.). The SIM modules don't always configure properly and are quite fragile. There are no standard protectective covers for the SIM modules as they come in different sizes. All-in-all, you would need TWO covers for the modules. The Raspberry Pi is a single module that allows for the purchase of a protective cover. These can be easily found on Amazon. Another disadvantage of the Arduino is that you are pretty much stuck with having to program in "C," with having to go through some additional changes, like changing the IDE, if you want to use another programming language (not recommended). I found this out through trial and error, but please, just be mindful.
