I am carnivore and I have had great success, but after soooo much research watching so many videos and feeling so much like a failure. SMH I came to the conclusion everyone is different. There is not a one size fits all even with carnivore. I have lipedema. I will not lose lose lose by eating more fat or will I? My point, carnivore is great. Thr best thing is how much better you will feel. But follow your own journey. I looked like Kelly when I was 35, but I chose a different path and at 70 I started over and over and over until I found carnivore. With carnivore I have lost 50 in 7 months and I am slowly still losing. I don't know what I will look like when I lose another 75 lbs which will just put me at 150 not the 118 I weighed at 35,, but I can accept i won't look like I did when I was 35 and exercising like a fiend and eating one meal a day. Find your own path. I do not use a calculator, I do not count anything, but still have great labs, losing weight and feel fantastic. My exercise walk the dogs, lift some hand weights, work in the yard. Exercise moderately as much as you can, but don't change food addiction for exercise addiction. Follow your own path and love your life where you are today! It is your journey. Love yourself no matter what your weight. Get healthy and get outside!

One tablespoon of lard, on the other hand, contains five grams of saturated fat, 5.7 grams of monounsaturated fat and . 12 grams of omega-3 fatty acids. “What we take away from this is that lard is higher in monounsaturated and omega 3 fatty acids, and is lower in saturated fatty acids,” De Santis says.

In my personal experience, stay away from carnivore foods that make you crave and snack or overeat, like bacon or dairy or pork rinds. Stick to one or two meals a day of fatty meat/fish and eat to satisfaction. The rest of the time, intermittent fast, exercise and get plenty of sleep & rest.

Wow! That was a fantastic interview! Very inspiring, and reaffirm our "why's" on being Carnivore. i am 70, on my 133 day of carne, lost almost 20 pounds. I was not overweight but being 5.2 carried a lot on my waist (which I can SEE it now), got rid of IBS and Gerd. Still have mental cravings on cakes, crackers (which I substitute with pork rinds), pancakes with maple or pies. I was raised in Puerto Rico, where everyday we had desserts (2 or 3) after a meal. So they are psychological cravings which I am analysing now and would take a lot to write here. But yes, I do as well as she does pass the bakery with no interest at all. Thank you for this video!

Given there is a paucity of genuine data around about the efficacy of carnivore diets, I take these claims with a big grain of salt. It doesn't follow that if eating modern diets filled with processed foods etc leads to atherosclerosis, a carnivore diet will be the healthiest alternative. I think it's a bit more complicated than that. Me, I'm not willing to have high LDL (or ApoB) levels from ingesting too much sat fat. High ApoB levels means greater risk of C particles lodging in artery walls which means elevated risk of atherosclerosis.

So I'm on day 12 and have noticed that I am eating around 1500 calories and on that I'm stuffed! I have released 1.8 kilos and have not had any issues (I was Keto before I started) I don't eat before 12 and not after 7....been doing that for a couple of years too. Should i try to eat more?

Being on the carnivore lifestyle, I sleep 8 hours, and I feel good. Had a setback, ate carbs, up 2-3 times at night to pee. Yep, carbs are not your friends. I'm back on track, and this video is a great pep talk. Thanks ❣️

The one and only truth is being moderate. The rest isn't about knowledge; it's about prediction. And sure it's about incomes. How can a person pay for healthy food in poor countries? How and where to find them? Being moderate can help other human beings to find food. Eating the same food again and again is not healthy. We need fiber, we need high quality complex carbs and we need high quality sugar. Protein alone is not the source of life.

I’ve been carnivore 5 months and I’ve been struggling with not feeling very well lately. The first almost 2 months I felt great. @kellyhogan do you have any advice for me. I’m 5’6.5” tall and weigh 178-180 pounds I felt amazing the first 2 months. I have improvement in my cognitive issues definitely, I just wondered if it something that happens in the process. Definitely not going back to the SAD nor do I eat vegetables because it sets off my joint pain and arthritis pain. No spices that also triggers more pain. I started this for the many health issues that literally make me unable to do a lot of exercises. Any advice would be greatly appreciated because I have been unable to work for 2 years now. Thank you!

OK, I just signed up for a coaching group. I have thrown away (or given away unopened food) everything except the eggs and butter in the fridge and the meat in the freezer. I went out and bought an air fryer (gotta say--I got it at 2/3 off in a spectacular sale!) and burger patties. I recycled all my Diet Pepsi cans and have sworn off the stuff for good. I am desperate. My blood sugar is sky high, I had a knock-down, drag-out fight with my health care provider because I refuse to take the medications she is pushing, I have chronic insomnia, I hurt all over. I just turned 71, and I have been on diets since I was 3 years old. I have never had lasting success. Kelly, you are my last ditch effort. Help me do this! I've got to get well.

I destroyed my health with the SDA vegetarian diet for years. I'm 72 now. But, I was consuming loads of seed oils, breads, cookies, donuts, ice cream, etc. for decades. Now I've been diabetic for 6 years, on insulin. Recently diagnosed with heart disease, an AV block and two leaky valves. When I hear about heart disease and the low carb diet, it's always about blocked arteries. I don't have that. My heart issues occurred after two years of low carb. I don't believe the new diet is causative. I feel that I've suffered from high cortisol, feel nervous a lot of the time, can't regulate my blood sugars, very low energy. I'm a mess. Low carb hasn't resolved the diabetes or insulin resistance. I wish I could find the key to fix my heart problems and reverse the diabetes. Even after watching hundreds of hours about the keto, carnivore, and doing the diets, still sick. The only medication I take is 2 types of insulin. I do take lots of quality supplements. Any ideas? I'm stumped.

Such an amazing take on weight loss journey before and after pics. It is one of the most enlightening videos I've watched! It really hit home. For years I've struggled with weight and health issues and after becoming a carnivore almost 8 months ago, I am finally seeing the results. It isn't a linear journey but one with many peaks and valleys. My pics show my body recomp and weight loss but they don't show the self doubt that plagued me when I started or the cravings I had to overcome or even the comments from friends and family that questioned my choice to change my eating habits. Thanks, Kelly, for such an inspiring message and you may not know this, but you were one of the first carnivore KZfaqrs I found who helped me take my first steps. Thank you thank you thank you! ❤❤

I have three comments: 1. My belief 2. Comment on ApoB 3. Comment on the precision of Ultrasound and CAC-scan for predicting arterial health. MY belief: Any wholefood omnivore diet is healthy for 99% of people (the exception are those with some kind of intolerances for some plants) - IF we can stay slim (low bodyfat%) and feel good on it ! I have three times asked Dr. Berry (a carnivore) the following: "IF my bloodwork is all in normal range, and I am slim and feel good; is it still advisable for me to avoid blueberries and broccoli ??" (he has never come back with an answer). Regarding ApoB: The following MD's are here on YT: Peter Attia, Gil from "Nutrition made simple", and Brad Stanfield. And they ALL say ApoB is the better (more precise) metric to monitor! Brad Stanfield also have a video explaining why the particle-size (of LDL) is irrelevant - Focus on ApoB, he say. Peter Attia is even medicating himself, because he (despite top notch nutrition and exercise) has difficulty getting his ApoB under 90. And Gil simply say it's a more precise measure of what is actually in our interest to know about (the number of 'busses', not the number of 'passengers' eg. the amount of LDL - but number of 'passengers' has historically been used for a proxy for the number of 'busses', and works fine 80% of the time, Gil says). Another health-guru, Mike Mutzel from 'High intensity health', has rather recently (i believe it was may this year 2024) made a video on a HUGE and longitudinal study that finds that OPTIMUM level of LDL is actually higher than what is currently recommended (low levels of LDL correlates with increased CVD). Regarding results from CAC-test (me reflecting on my observations): In this video by Kelly Hogan, she have a text on the screen saying "The ultrasound test for soft plaque is much harder to 'ace' than a CAC-scan' - clearly indicating that the ultrasound is the better test of the two (which might be true). And in the comments here, we can all read a post where someone needed a 4-bypass-operation, despite "ultrasound didn’t show anything wrong in my arteries" !! This prompts me to ask: As 'predictors of cardiovascular health' - how good/precise are the CAC-scan and the Ultrasound-scan methods actually ?? An ending with an open questionmark from me: I have also see a video by Dr. Gil (nutrition made simple) presenting the findings of exercise for reversing plaque. The reversal/reduction was very small (but still important for mortality risk). But I wonder HOW - what method - they used to measure that small reduction in the thickness of the plaque-formation on the inside of the arteries !?? Did they used Ultrasound or CAC-scan? (and how valid is the study then, if these methods cannot detect plaque in a person facing a 4-bypass-operation), or did they use a different method - one that is more sensitive/precise? In which case I wonder why we do not skip the ultrasound and CAC-scans, and always go for the more sensitive/precise method!?

I mean this respectfully as a fellow woman… but could you do a video about your changing curves, if you know what I mean?! I had to have a reduction as my curves didn’t get any smaller or higher with a change of diet, but yours noticeably did. Can you talk about your change in physique and how that’s changed your life as a woman… I think it could be very beneficial to your female audience! Thank you Kelly, you’re a gem! Hello from Australia!🙂🇦🇺
