@@brunoxd151 true. I feel like he's overreacting because I also knew ace was gonna die way before I even though of starting one piece. When ace died. It was spoiled around the internet. It was everywhere. But you know what? Getting spoiled about ace's didn't ruin a single thing about its scene. It was still perfect. And I still cried. And I still felt dread and everything. Someone should tell him that.

This is mentioned in their first shown meeting that Hawkeye won't fight Shanks because he now is only half the man he once was. This is a callback to them being basically sparring partners until Shanks sacrificed his arm for Luffy.

Impel Down is so good. We have our (drag) Queen of the Underworld, Nazi Satan, Dante's Inferno and more. It's just soaked in inspiration from real life sources. Magellan is so incredibly powerful. He squad wipes Blackbeard's crew without any effort at all. There are some panels of him that invoke pure terror.

All of the Straw Hats follow Luffy's idea that they will chase their life's dream, but if they die in pursuit of that dream, then it was a life well lived. The actual end goal is not the most important part of their journey. Even if Robin knew the history of the Void Century, or if Luffy knew what the One Piece was, they do not have the means to act on that information. They don't have access to Laugh Tale. Being able to reach Laugh Tale is more important than whatever is actually there.

Pell could have absolutely died for king and country and the story would have been better for it. He is one of the two guardian deities of Alabasta. I like to think he himself was expecting to die, so it doesn't lessen his sacrifice. If Pell joined the Straw Hats, or was really ever seen again in a meaningful way going forward, it would irk me more. I think Igaram survives because Robin is the one who "killed" him, and she didn't actually want to do so. People do die in One Piece, but since it is a story aimed at youths, there just can't be too many deaths. Saturday morning cartoons don't often kill a lot of people.
