Thank you for this, i purchased your 3d design recently and have now implemented this. They key as you mentioned is the 'fine' dust that this captures and is the most important bit. my workshop is typically was coated in a fine layer of dust, this is now hardly noticeable, it has worked wonders :)

Hello, had the same defect on the board of my SC10 a year ago. Two short -circuited IGBT of one motor phase. The original IGBT are no longer available, have not been made for a long time, but there are good newer replacement types. The real reason for the destruction of the IGBT were the smd drivers of the IGBT. The defect on this channel has controlled both IGBT at the same time, which of course leads to their dead. The drivers are in good quality (much better than the no-name in it) by Infineon for a few cents. As a precaution, I renewed all three drivers with the Infineon. The control has been more than 500 hours of operation since the repair Of course, it is too late for you to experience this, now with the VfD and the new engine. ;-)

Hey thanks for the info! Maybe this will be helpful for others who watch this, and in theory everything I did is reversible so I could put it back in its original state if I ever decide to repair the board again
I have been self declared a super fan of your design. I find it so smart, elegant, light, logic... congratulations, really.

This is my first time watching one of your videos and I'm honestly just blown away by your attention to detail and craftsmanship. Even something as small as taking the legs off before moving the table top and putting them back on after shows how much you care about the quality of your final product. I also really liked that you repurposed the box to make the bottom of the drawer! I started watching desk build videos because I'm trying to figure out my desk - I have a massive corner desk with lots of tech toys on it but my back would prefer it to be sit/stand now that I use it more. I wish I could find a sit/stand converter that met my needs a little more exactly. Custom might be the answer! You're very inspiring =]

Love the video and I have to say I've often wondered why restores don't blue vises. If used regularly I guarantee it will look better in five years than a similarly used painted vise.
@PhilVandelay14 күн бұрын
Yep, can confirm that. I've been using this a few years now and it still looks great and shows no rust. I think painting is fine if you do it professionally (e.g. Powdercoating) but anything applied with a brush will look terrible for a tool like this that sees heavy use

Some reviews on Etsy for the plans seem fake..? what's up with that? Phil seems genuine.
@PhilVandelay17 күн бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean? You can't review something on Etsy without buying it but some people do have a weird way of writing
@Longtimerolling17 күн бұрын
@@PhilVandelay Some seem a bit vague if they were written by engineering type people and one refers to you as "Her". I guess they might be from people that don't speak English.
@PhilVandelay17 күн бұрын
@@Longtimerolling Yeah there's a good possibility people use auto-translate which can lead to weird wordings. I don't always check the reviews but I can assure you I didn't buy any 😅
