This is a pretty good panel but it's missing the voice of reason Matt Trumpets who can act as a counterbalance to the man with the Hamilton poster removed 50 cm from his face who has a strong anti-Verstappen bias.

I mean, at what point do you start to realize that you're making an absolute joke out of yourself because you're so much emotionally invested that you can't even think straight anymore?

By his own admission Spanners strongly dislikes Norris. This is the first time in 5 years of watching Missed Apex that Spanners has EVER defended anything Verstappen has done on track. What we have here folks is a perfect example of the principal, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend".

I’m done with missed Apex now. Even if you think this is Max’s fault, the fact you are calling for race bans for such a small incident, shows your bias. Either fix that or loose your non British fans. I’m both a Norris and Max fan along with a couple other drivers (Russell, Albon)and I’m fine with different opinions but the fact you make it so personal vs one particular driver, calling for bans and telling that a driver needs to grow up. I know spanners was not calling for those things but he picks his guests and it’s the same guests over and over who have these insane Biases. It’s telling that every other driver that was asked said it was a racing incident and several said the penalty was harsh on Max. Please do better Missed Apex, you used to be my favorite F1 show but this is something I have noticed for a while and have been listening less and less and now I’m Done.

If we're looking at it in that way then Hamilton only has one legitimate title which also not really because in 2008 if BMW would have continued working on that Year's car, Robert Kubica would definitely be champ. If not that, then if you use the current point system, Felipe Massa is champion in 2008. For the rest of Hamilton's titles, honestly, anybody can win a championship in a Mercedes while the rest of the grid are driving a Fiat Maluch. Finishing every race 1 minute ahead and the Constructor having a 300-400 point lead at the end of the year over second place is a bit cheap.

I blame the race director and the stewards. Drivers are going to push the limits until they are told to knock it off. There were several times before the actual contact that the call should have been made about moving under braking or not leaving racing room but they always wait for the contact and then react. They ruined what should have been a fantastic end to the race through their inaction. This is not the first instance of this, this year and even when the drivers are eventually punished, the gains usually outweigh the punishment. If the race directors got on top of this and handed out a few drive through or stop/go penalties, driving standards would quickly improve.

This was a winning format. Very good show.

What the Brits don't realise is that more and more people are finding them insufferable, more people are waking up to the fact that they aren't really that correct and fair.. The time that the British had any sympathy from others is more and more coming to an end. And I cannot wait for the Zandvoort race. There is going to be a very warm welcome for the british F1 media, they won't know what surprise is waiting for them.

Spanners, I’m a big fan of the show. I appreciate that it’s a fan show and that the panelists bring their biases. But I think you’re getting extra flack on this one because Stuffy is foaming at the mouth with blatant bias toward anyone that’s a challenger to HAM. Max is immature? And he’s incapable of handling a challenge? (In the “correct” way, presumably?) Did anyone see the last five races? This is hyperbole and undermines his credibility. And when the other panelists just nod in approval, it makes it seem like the purpose of the panel is to shit on Max. But I give you lots of credit, Spanners, I think you knew that was coming and you diligently defended the counter position. I’ll certainly keep coming back. But maybe give Stuffy some notes 😉

Max is ultra talented, no doubt. He's one of the fastest f1 drivers in history. ...but his race craft generally sucks. 90 percent of his overtakes are "yeild or we crash dive" bombs. And 90% of his defenses are "yeild or we crash" blocking and or pushing people off track. But his defenders are insane, they dont see the irony in the rubbish that they spout. I mean just look at all these comments. The same people complaining about your take, are in the same breath complaining about landos dive bombs. So dive bombs suck (unless its max) They complain about lando pushing him off track, and think max should keep the position. (Unless max pushes lewis off track abu dahbi, and lewis keeps the position. Of course in that scenario, he should hand that back to Max). They like Max's yeild or we crash style antics. (Until some puts Max in a yeild or we crash scenario...cough...Silverstone...cough) 😂 At the moment they seem to think moving while braking is perfectly fine when defending...but who wants to bet their opinion will change when lando starts doing that to Max. Much like you guys, while i dont want more of Max's style of racing, i can admit it's entertaining. And I don't blame Max at all, it's learned behaviour. On a side note. Keep up the good work guys. This is pretty much the only F1 podcast I listen to now and listen to it every week!

Please someone explain to me WHY is it that when Max received a 10 second time penalty I don’t see a see a single max fan crying that the penalty was ridiculous and unfair. But when a podcaster or f1 commentator says the moves were a little over the edge then the Max fans want to jump down their throats for saying that. It’s wild….

The thing is the incident where they collided is probably the least egregious act of them all. Had it been the only thing that had happened in the race, it would probably just have been a racing incident. The double moves and reactionary blocking were way more of an issue but still he could have gotten away with it. However, what needs to be talked about more is the fact that after the collision Max tried to take Lando out. I mean how is this not being investigated and dealt with. A driver knowing that he has a flat, looking his mirror for his opponent and then trying to run him off the road. Should be a DQ clearly!

As a Max fan, it's definetly his fault. however watching the overview replay a few times i dont think it's such a big thing as its made out to be. this could have been a simple bit of wheel banging and both drivers going on with the race. the outcome was just really bad. also there was some space to the left for lando to go, im not saying he is supposed to go there he has every right to keep his line just saying lando also could have avoided this. think it's all just blown up a little bit

I worked out the puzzle. Max gets 2 penalty points and he had another 2 earlier this season. That is 4. With a total of 16 to get a 1 race ban. Max has a big lead over the field and a 1 race ban will give him 0 and points for everyone behind him. Max is going to be champion and fans will loose interest and not watch. So a ban will close tittle battle and that is good for TV figures and ratings. So Liberty Media a entertainment company that owns F1 want ratings. That means trying to ban the person leading the tittle.

People (why are they often British I wonder? 🤔) will always have a problem with how Max races, how he defends, how he attacks and what not. Fact is that most people around the world LOVE HIS STYLE OF DRIVING !! Sure it’s aggressive, but 100 x better than drivers who simply move out of the way to allow a clean DRS pass, which is boring AF! We need more tough battles in F1 and Max is showing everybody how it’s done. He doesn’t care what the media thinks. He just wants to win at all cost! If that’s not for you than I recommend watching a game of chess 🤷🏻‍♂️ #winnermentality

Max was run off track twice by Lando, lap 59 and 62, Required Max to have all 4 wheels off track, otherwise he would have made contact 3rd time, Lap 63, Max actually left some decent room, Lando would have probably just had to drop 2 wheels slightly off to avoid contact but refused. And thus the result we got. Some other things people don't think about. 1. Lando pushed him off the week prior at start of race (Spain), into the grass, media tried to create drama and Max just laughed it off. His friendship meant more 2. When Lando won his first race, the pace car mistake. Max didn't seem like he really wanted to fight for the win, almost like he wanted Lando to get his first win. People tried to ask him about the pace car and he just blew it off. Happy for Lando. And now Lando doesn't want to be friends anymore? Ok. Cool

Go listen to Peter Windsor and Alex Brundle and get off of Will Buxtons lap.
