please,sir ,i can't type anything after the console appear the message "arago project",stop at here all the time. i can't type 'root' to login . now The uart interface does not respond after several failed attempts.Maybe I accidentally short-circuited RX and RT and GND during operation. but the drone can still power on and The glitch is the same as before (My original fault is that it is difficult to connect the controller after the upgrade of the drone, but it can be connected normally after forced restart for about 20 times, and it cannot be connected immediately after shutdown and reboot).So I think DM368 is still working, but for what reason has the uart interface been turned off. What am I supposed to do now? please

Hello, you have a lot of great info in this video. The only issue I am having is with the probe. I can see where to put the resistor, but my question is. where do you get, or how do you make a probe like the one you have with the 2 wires coming off of it? Thank you

its a standard .4 nozzle printing a line width of .8 - .9 thin wall vase/surface mode (so one layer)

ok, so i have the sd card slot in my Karma, is there a way to update just using a sd card only? or is this the only way?

You can use that onboard SD card reader but you will still need to trigger the SD card to boot and have a USB TTL serial device to see the output from the chip. Come over to the Discord server and we can help you though the process if you are going to attempt it. discord.com/invite/wGVdWPpkua

Thank you for your video. For three years, I couldn't get the Karma to work. With your instructions, it's finally running again. This should be shared more widely, and GoPro should be ashamed for not providing this support.

I messed around with this sort of thing early this year, after getting my first printer - Bambu P1S. I first looked at an Elipson wing section then drew up a test wing with some support ribs inside. I nearly got it to print in vase mode, even though I modeled the wing just as I wanted it printed. Not a solid model with thin cuts but a wing surface one layer thick. Bambu Studio would print the entire level just fine but it would continue to trace around the entire outer surface to put a dot of plastic right at the start of the rib. So maddening. I had to change over to the solid method, cutting slits and getting the gaps just right.

Its a rabbit hole, one thing leads to another. Once you go surface or vase mode you no longer have top and bottom layers but thats a whole different video.

Will this happen to every Karma drone? I have two. One just got the "decease" during a lengthy winter hibernation a couple of years ago. The other one is still working.

Its possible, at the moment it appears that if you don't use it for a lengthy period of time that it happens. I got my Karma drone back in about 2015 but its is still fine.

@@bozmanx Is there any official word from GoPro. When this started to be an issue a lot of people got a new Karma core (body) as a replacement, but when I tried to open a case they offered me a new remote controller! I tried to complain and suggested that other people got a new core as the fix for this issue but to no avail. I don't understand how GoPro could offer replacement cores to some, while my excact same issue was supposed to be fixed with a new remote. I even explained that I already had tried to pair my 2nd remote to the unresponsive Karma core but it was hopeless. So I just digressed.

@@GrenlandUnderVann from what I heard many of the people who got a new core had the same problem because they had just been sitting around for years and they obviously were not testing them before they sent them. GoPro is not and has not commented on the pairing issue. I have approached them on several occasions (including the legal team) and they have never responded. My understanding is that no one is to respond to anything about the Karma. Support will let you log a call but will reply a week or so later with the line that they no longer support it.

Hello. I am at the point to download the new boot rewrite. I am however having issues getting Putty to work. Problems with the port #. I can’t identify it on windows 11. Ports does not exist in device manager. Also, having problems joining Discord. Messages not getting through. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

sounds like you are doing the pairing fix and not the controller upgrade. If ports doesnt exist in device manager then it means you have none. You might need to load a driver for your usb ttl device, do you have a device listed as unknown? Were you able to join discord ?

@@bozmanx Thanks for the response. The loss of the windows 11 port selection program appears to exist to a wide degree as the internet cries fowl. It seems to have been deleted by windows in an upgrade. I am searching for a way to get it back. I’ll let you know if I’m successful. As for discord, I just signed in today, so I will give it a few days for them to update my profile. Again, thank you very much.

I had a look on my windows 11 computer , when I connect the device it shows up under other. When I install the CP2102 driver the ports section shows up.

@@bozmanx I didn’t notice if you made a video on the creation of a cable to connect from the nand to a usb port. I am using a 5 wire usb cable to a three prong 1.25mm connector on the nand. Ground, data + and data - are the only wires I connected. The other two wires, 5v power and cc are not used. Am I on the right track? Thanks

I have managed to get the serial port set up in putty to the point that i can get the sd card to load to the arago project point but the characters during the loading are garbled and improper. then it will not allow me to type anything into the screen prompt cursor. i am using putty in windows 10, i do not know how to use linux at all. i have tried to google how to fix this issue and nothing is useful. i am literally on the verge of making this work finally after a faulty usb adapter etc etc etc.. this is one last issue i cannot seem to solve on my own. anyone have any suggestions?

awesome to hear you are making good progress. If you are getting garbled text its normally one of two things, the wrong speed set on either in device manager for the serial port or in putty, the other time we see it is if the serial device is a rs232 device and not TTL. When people cant type in putty they normally fix it by just changing to another terminal emulator like teraterm (its open source). You should come over to Discord server, you can ask questions there, all the people who fix this issue are there and can offer advice. discord.gg/wGVdWPpkua

The fb36 pins supply power to the SD card slot, if you built your own board you can take power from pin 1 of the jtag and apply it directly to the 3.3 volt pin on the sd card board. If you have an arm board with an sd card slot already on it you can power it by adding a wire to one of the caps or the connector for the arm board (both of these are tricky due to the size of the components). It would be worth coming over to our discord server and looking under the important pictures channel, there are about 4 or 5 pictures on how to wire the board. Similar problem years ago with one of my hero 5 black. I just fixed it just by turning on ghe gopro camera before or after the drone/grip. After that everything works normal.

You might find the connectors are dirty, its a common issue, spray some circuit board clearer into the connectors to see if that fixes it.

If it continually tries to boot from nand then your not triggering the SD card boot. make sure you have 3.3 volts on your probe and that you are connecting to the TP1 test point, it might be worth watching this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZpulpNOBvtSxl2w.html

Hello. I was wondering why there are only three wires hooked up to the nand. You show a ground, dat rx and data tx. Most usb data cables have four wires, the fourth being power. I am assuming that the power cable is not be attached to the nand connector. Is that right or did I miss something in your instructions? Please let me know. Thanks

You are correct, it doesnt require a power wire as the board powers itself.

Do you recall ever seeing in an article that the nand can be corrupted by not being powered for a period of time? Seems I saw it somewhere in your presentations but not totally sure if I did.

Others have said this but I didnt. Mine has sat in the case for up to 6 months without use and I have never had the issue.
