I was a Roon user for 3 years, there is nothing better. Unfortunately, Roon doesn’t support accessibility tools, like Apple’s assistive touch or eye-gaze screens, which my ALS requires.

RE the Directstream MK1: When I initially set it up I was disappointed.. Didnt expect too much because I bought it used only paid $2100. But then I began to notice that the irritating sibilance that often made me unable to relax into the sound was gone. No other dac Ive had has so far accomplished this. Maybe makes it worth the price. YMMV

I can't imagine spending all that money on one of these and then the company stops supporting it eventually leaving you with a $1,000. brick. At least when you use a pc and the software you use becomes obsolete you can just use different software and even a different OS if you want. 😬

Will a single 7350A work well with Genelec 8351B? Confused on the digital In/Out … is that required? I’m driving these Genelecs from a MOTU audio interface (analog out).

Yea, 2024 mid year and Musiccast is still clunky. My main frustration has been the sync between Amazon Music and Musiccast, it simply will not mirror the Amazon albums or song lists. I had not watched this video in its entirety and thought I had stumbled on to a great solution by plugging in a firestick and going direct. I was going to report it here and then say the host recommended it right off the bat. My only real gripe with the Musiccast is the library, and how it doesnt "sync" with Amazon, this BS about "simply select Amazon as the source" just doesn't really work much as far as functionallity. I also found that "saving as favs or Musicast play lists, became impossible, such that once a song was deleted, the whole playlist seemed to become corrupted, .... I mean showing the song icon while inside Musicast and then playing an entirely different song when the icon is selected. I also hit a roadblock when I thought to just patch it through the Sony Bravia, I believe I found that the Sony became a "choke point" whereby the hardware limitation couldnt process @192K. It is really a shame that Yamaha goes to all the trouble of developing some really nice hardware platforms and then screws it up like putting Musicast in front that blocks the functionallity of the hardware AND subsequently drives the new owners CRAZY trying to make it work.

I worked in Norway for almost 15 years and this is exactly how I remember it. Even those generic double paned office windows. I had them just like that in my office at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, where the founder studied. My favourite country.

Is this a good streamer for rock and metal or too bright? With my music i need a little warmth and a somewhat forgiven sound for the mostly not perfect recordings. I now have a bluesound node 130 with MF M5 Si amp, tannoy xt8f speakers and tellurium q blue ii cables.

I’d like to know what your connectivity problems you were using Roon with the Cambridge streamer. Right now the system that I’m using with a Roon Nucleus communicating with a PS Audio DSD DAC/Streamer and an iPad endpoint to be able to sit in my listening chair and have an incredible amount of user features that I do not believe any other software platform can match. For that reason, if I could turn the screen on the Cambridge off I would probably do it because it’s just a waste of time from the distance of my listening chair to the screen.

I have been monitoring this amp from the beginning. I am really considering this one or the Advance Paris A10 Classic or the Hi Fi Rose RA280. Any thoughts people? Great review!

Hello there! Nice video! I have one question.. Can you set the signal quality out? I have e pair of Meridian DSP 6000's. And they handle mat the max 24/96. So anything above wont make a sound. How do I get around this? An DAC with max said resolution after the output? Or could it be set internally in the node?

Supernait 3 supplies enough current and voltage for my satellite loudspeaker load; the main amp in my system only reproduces above about 100 Hz. What are the lowest-cost new or used Naim power amps that at least equal the best musical qualities of Supernait 3's power amp stage for my application? How does the mid-2000 vintage NAP 150XS compare? How about more recent Naim power amps priced below the current $9k SRP NAP 250 entry-level power amp? What if any non-Naim power amps share the best qualities of Supernait 3's power amp stage? Exposure?

MC cartridges offer not just better high frequency but quicker transient response which theoretically equates to better audio detail. That said a good MM cartridge can provide very quality sound. A pretty good analogy can be made between MM and MC cartridges vs dynamic and condenser microphones. A dynamic mic element is a weightier slower transducer than the capsule of a condenser microphone. Similar to the MC cartridge the condenser microphone is thought in general terms to be the better piece of gear, the MM cartridge or the dynamic microphone are offen thought as lesser but that is not always the case. That said a Sennheiser MD441 which is a $1000 dynamic mic can offer to many people a "nicer" sound than a cheap budget condenser mic. Ultimately it's s all a matter of what kind of sound appeals to your ear, how your entire playback chain interacts and works as a system.... and of course just how much money you have to throw at the issue. ;)

I never consider Chord products, mixed reviews and I can't stand the look of the form of the boxes. Please just give me a machined aluminum box.

I have both and yes, The eversolo A-6 is great value for your money, but it’s slightly more clinical or Digital. The Cambridge is more refined in sound quality and sounds warmer. Your speakers and the rest of your system also plays a big part or your decision.

Typical Chinese product lot of flash to impress your friends until it breaks and good luck getting it fixed. My own personal experience with products from that country “Shanling”. I lost $3000 of hard earn money and it didn’t even last 6 months, even with the replacement unit. I use it to keep the door open on hot summer days.

Got the Primare yesterday. Connected it to the Topping e50. I am amazed how good it is. I was using Wiim Mini before this. It improved the sound in every possible way. The sound got fuller with better resolution, soundstage and separation. The app is a bit lacking, but the sound quality is maybe worh the trouble.

Surprise they don't just sell a fixed £800 device since you need the Bluetooth functionality to play music but the sd slot means you can listen to high bit rate music like a mp3 player without the screen but use your phone
