Why did you have to use something that beeps when you hit the solenoid? By the way, there's a trick to getting the timing set close enough to fire. Just set the engine to your desired point of ignition, pop the distributor cap and rotate the distributor until it's close to where number 1 should fire. Then you put the cap back on, how up power to the distributor and rotate it until the number one spark plug fires.

I made it 1:25 into the video and was already disappointed because you put an HEI distributor in there. Blasphemous

0 seconds ago I've really enjoyed all these videos, I like your taste on doing things, your desire to do things as well as you can do them... most of the time.. You hurt my feelings when you didn't use a 3/4" 36 spline to 3/4" DD u-joint even though you were still starting from scratch, my automotive OCD would forever haunt me for cobbling together something as visible as a steering shaft. Luckily, it's your truck and & if it doesn't bother you, everything is lovely!lol I am really just giving you a hard time, I couldn't be any more sincere when I say,, "hats off". You've done a killer job on the work you've done to this truck!

Could you use the whole frame of the Crown Vic that way you would have 4 disc brakes plus positive original rear end.

I swapped an LS/LM7 into my 85 cutlass, it was a process and not really cheap but it ran and drove for 3 summers till i sold it. BUT what happened to the REBUILT 390? did it blow up or just wanted double the Hp of the 390?
@WilliamMunny-d8s26 күн бұрын
what were the power adders you added? just headers, 4 BBL and intake? OR did you up the compresion somehow?
@WilliamMunny-d8s28 күн бұрын
hey dude, i just bought a pretty sweet 390 powered 1976 truck similar to yours. so what were the power adders you added? just headers, 4 BBL and intake? OR did you up the compresion somehow?

those LED headlights were AWESOME BUT how much better can we make a sealed beam halogen if we relay some double sized wire right to the headlights and use factory wires just to light the relay. a smartass at work said it was awesome back before LED headlights were invented SO maybe LED is better now but one raly and 10 ft of wire probly cosat 1/10 these LED headlights and if i know quality these days will last TEN TIMES longer

i thought pretty much all engine builders/rebuilders throw out the china walls and just use RTV, letting it tack up for 5-10 mintes b4 installing manifold? oh well maybe he will get an aluminum intake soon and save about 50 lbs on front end anyways

Is this even correct? I thought the screw adjusted the amount of vacuum needed to pull the advance not how far it pulls it. Like if you have big cam that makes less than stock vacuum you loosen the advance screw so it takes less vacuum to achieve full advance?

Haynow! What a find. The same carb. & same rebuild kit that I have. You took me threw it. 55 years old and it's my first carb. rebuild. The first job on my restoration of my 1968 Ford F-100 4x4 390. Thanks for the help.

Awesome! Not many people on KZfaq have done or shown how to diy crown Vic coilovers. I’m thinking about doing what you do and was interested in knowing what coilovers you used. Btw what spring rate did you use?

An after thought. Does that cam have advance built in? Some do.
@user-tn1hk6zm2freedomАй бұрын
Should have advanced it 4 degrees. You would have been glad you did. More low end torque and as the timing chain wears the timing will retard. Also better vacuum. If your looking for high rpm hp go straight up or retarded.

Awesome build, those u bolts for the bed… I can’t stand them, after a couple years they don’t wanna come off, the nut breaks free from the clip and just spins, anti seize the bolts and nuts. I live in Michigan as a collision tech, I’ve seen brand new trucks have issues trying to remove the bed.
