Imax is always been a dream place to watch a movie. There are many multiplex screens in Hyderabad but eh nothing can match the legacy of Imax. Love this documentary.

So glad to come across this video and channel! I've been wondering about the rise and fall of Prasads IMAX (RIP). OMG the physical movie schedules!!! I do miss how different things were... My family used to go to Prasads without knowing the showtimes and wait or hope that there's a show we want to watch. Hmm... I see how the policy is a double-ended sword, it does protect us all from the competitive prices (exhorbitant prices on weekends/premiers) but the cinema hall suffers. Prasads has always been the best thing that happened to the hyd cinema experience.

Reading the comment section as an hyderabadi I took imax for granted, to add to my stupidity i watched interstellar in pvr i guess, i dont remember. However I was awestruck by that movie. I took pride among my friend circle that i watched interstellar in theatre, coz most of them passed on this movie. Now I am a bigger joke to not watch interstellar in imax. Should have taken the chance while I had it. Good video btw.

Why can’t they build proper 70mm IMAX screen with latest GT laser projector in Mumbai or Delhi…. Prasad constructed proper 70mm IMAX screen way back in 2005…. Now we are in 2024 still PVR or INOX can’t build a proper 70mm screen like Traumplast Leonberg IMAX in Germany… I know it’s difficult to build in malls but they can build in there individual properties like Eros Mumbai, Priya Delhi or in Bangalore…. I don’t understand why these Indian companies can’t build these kind of projects properly…
@KDCloudy9 күн бұрын
You need passionate individuals with enough capital who believe in the format Delhi NCR had a 70mm venue at Ghaziabad. Flopped. Why would they do it again? This is how businesses think
@MVRCINEMAS8 күн бұрын
@@KDCloudy Ghaziabad one flopped because they didn’t promoted that properly and back then general public doesn’t know what is IMAX back then and not many movies Hollywood or Indian were shot for or made for IMAX screens back then but it’s totally different situations people know what is is IMAX right now there number films which are made especially for IMAX screening including Indians films both regional and Bollywood films are specially formatted for IMAX…. If they build now it will be huge success now Delhi has more than 5 IMAX screens but they doesn’t provide proper IMAX experience like Prasad use to do instead building that many useless IMAX screens they build just one just one IMAX which is like Prasad or like traumplast leonberg it will game be a changer for PVR company or any other company which builds it…
@MVRCINEMAS8 күн бұрын
@@KDCloudy even Prasad IMAX also wasn’t not running in profits when they opened initially back in 2004 it use to run in losses but still they maintained it because it was the main attraction at that time…. I remember when I was kid I travelled all the way to Hyderabad from Visakhapatnam to just watch Spider-Man 2 on big IMAX screen and that was worth it and not only me many people whom I know travelled from all over India to just catch a one single screening in that IMAX theatre… Shame it got closed… same thing will happen in bigger scale if big companies like PVR or cinepolis does it what Prasad did back then… it will be huge success if they does it correctly…

this is ridiculous...this one is literally 20 mins away from my home and I can't even experience the IMAX format...they need to do something about it...I watched Titanic recently and I was so disappointed that it was not in IMAX format...I want to see Interstellar coz they re-released it recently but what's the point if they won't show it in IMAX format?

Sure Some quick thoughts on Lower Parel IMAX Its grand and bigger audi and loads of seats than all Mumbai IMAXes Love the premium lobby, and seats And its a ditto photocopy for the Bangalore’s Nexus Mall Koramangala IMAX because both of then were build during the same time But the ceiling height is very low, and because of that screen appears to be wider. Sitting closer to the screen will solve this

Imax India just announced 3 new imax scrns but not in Hyderabad. The Real reason for Prasads not putting at least digital IMAX projection system is NOT cap on prices they're obligated to run only Imax releases weekly mostly being English films...so prasads pcx large screen won't be able to run their local Telugu films like Guntur karam, Hanuman as they're not Imax releases so huge box office collections for the scrn is not possible and money will be lost sometimes if there's no hype for the english film release. They're now managing to achieve huge money with the screen without any imax just by publicity that it's a huge screen size many people think it's still an Imax...so if they're willing to really setup IMAX they can easily come up with new pricing scheme exclusively for imax like some other cities did hiking prices for only imax scrns like chennai. But here very easily they're blaming the Telangana state Govt. Currently now rates in prasads is 295₹(2d), 400₹(3d) + tax...it's already a lot still they can hike it up to 500+ like chennai ppl are ready to pay not poor it's a rich city. Another reason if it becomes imax again they can't block top 4-6 rows seats of screen for VIPs of every single show of movies on release days like it's a local theatre...Imax in other cities when they open bookings on release day they open complete empty house like a normal system but in Prasads they release almost housefull bookings so common people have to wait couple of days to get a seat in top 4-5 rows for every show. So some kind of internal politics from film industry side & multiplex side are taking place as Prasads won't bring back Imax and they won't let any other multiplex in the whole city install and setup new IMAX screen...So there's no single Imax screen in the city where highest number of people go to theatres daily in the World. Mumbai - 8 imax scns, chennai-2, Bnglr 6, delhi - 8 , hyd - zero. It's terrible internal politics here people are frustrated waiting for more than a decade without IMAX. It's a huge lifeless screen feels like a TV without Imax ratio.
@KDCloudy10 күн бұрын
If the biggest IMAX of the country is in the home of the telugu film industry, the producers of bigger budget telugu films will opt for IMAX release. I understand your point but Salaar, Bahubali RRR have already done this and an IMAX in AP/TS would’ve paved the way for more What you mentioned are supporting factors for Prasads not being an IMAX, but the lack of flexible pricing policy is the main reason why even PVR is not trying it
@hansolo17478 күн бұрын
@@KDCloudy it will take 1 day to bring new pricing scheme especially for IMAX if it comes to hyd but Imax not coming to hyd is definitely not because of pricing policy since anyway now they made Cinema limited form of entertainment as everything is changed as so many good movies flopped in last 2 years because 295₹ is not a small price. In olden days film success was seen from footfalls (how many ppl come to theatre) now they're based on box office now producers don't care how many came to theatres they just hike prices for Salaar, guntur karam for 415₹ ...Even prasads IT operations employee told me distributors doing it for no reason. As Govt allowed them 295 so empty halls increased especially in prasads even for flop films. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ibdnpK58tti3co0.htmlfeature=shared 5:58 - 6:40 this is happening in hyd now
