I always like "wing on wing" and am surprised I don't see it more often. Nice Drink Rum shirt! We do see Ron. As to the changing weather and feel of it, do you carry a barometer with you and consult it frequently?

If you don't enjoy sailing in rough conditions you can stick to day-sailing close to home in fair weather and calm seas. However, everyone prefers to watch videos of those who are adventurous and skilled enough to safely sail the oceans. As a skilled and lovable but geriatric blue water solo sailor, Barry is in a class of his own!

Only now that I have completed a 15 month refit and am starting to sail solo in SE Asia can I begin to understand your courage, fortitude, skills and perseverence.. I recently hit weather a fraction of what you have been thru and my nuts sunk into my boots and panic set in . .. well done mate ..

Great video.... However, you placed others at risk to save you when you knew what the weather was going to happen. Basically, you abused the good will of others for your lack of care.

New subscriber here. I just watched your music video, so awesome that you did all of the filming yourself!! Really good song!! Nice job. I am an amateur musician also, I write songs about the ocean too. Looking forward to more videos. Greetings from the Big Bend area of Florida!! 🏝️🏖️

Seadog, you taught me a lesson with this one. I will always carry, stowed somewhere, a Coleman camp stove and six little propane bottles. Just in case.

Sad to see you lose your PV... I have 4 larger panels on a towerinabox that have been thru a Force7... Dunno if more wind would affect destruction so really gotta watch the weather now in TC season... Enjoyed the vid and Fair Wiinds...

I have two 550W panels on a self made arch (lots of triangles, fittings first grub screwed then spot welded) l, which has a little bit of flex in it; panels fixed with aluminium brackets, in a big wind on her shake down sail I was worried about it all flying apart and breaking- but no, it was rock solid.

I feel so much better now. I was out in 25 knts yesterday and not loving it. Mind you my boat is a bit smaller and designed for coastal work.

If filming the flapping solar panel is more important than saving it... ;-) Luckily it didn't drop into the water.

Seadog, you are a great guy, and I treasure your vids, but truth be told, I would not own a steel boat unless it were made of high-grade stainless steel, and as much as I'd love to have a sailboat, I would not want yours. More trouble than a cranky woman.

Chances are you will never see this post, but let's give it a try. A video has been recommended to me by KZfaq. A "flopper stopper". A "device" to stop the boat from rolling around at anchor. It's just a flexible bucket tied with a rope to the jib pole and left to hang over board, deep in the water. Should maybe help with those nights at anchor.
