Zeus was a Pelasgian (ancestors of Albanians), not a Helen. Iliad and Odyssey were oral poems of Pelasgians, which later were written in Illyric/ Albanian. The oracle of Zeus, Dodona of Epirus, was the Temple of Pelasgians. After Iliad the language of Gods was Gheg, North Albanian Dialect. (Herodotus) After Science Magazine 2023, the Albanian Language is older than 8000 years, much older than the Greek and Armenian languages. Zacharias Papantoniou (Greek: Ζαχαρίας Παπαντωνίου) was a Greek writer. He was born in Karpenissi of Evrytania in February 1877 and died in Athens in 1940. He spent the first years of his life in Granitsa, where his father was a teacher. Apart from a writer, he was also a journalist. Many of the works of Zacharias Papantoniou, unfortunately, are censored because they tell the truth on Greek history. In that censored group is also the book, ''The King Otto''. Below we state a fragment from this book: ''The young Prince for first time come in Athens on January 25, 1833, he hardly heard anyone speak in Greek and so he asked: "Where are the Greeks in Athens?" His court looked at each other and answered: "There are no Greeks, but do not be troubled because this Albanian population will always be faithful to your monarchy." Triantafyllidis later wrote, with some exaggeration, that the introduction of Demotic Greek into schools in 1917 was the first official recognition of the mother tongue ever made. Now that Greece had succeeded in winning Macedonia and other regions, disputed until that moment, Venizelos no longer considered it dangerous to introduce demotic Greek into the schools; indeed, one of the main reasons why the triumvirate [Triantafyllidis, Delmouzos, Glinos - the three leaders of the Educational Association] was appointed was the problem of integrating the non-Greek speaking populations of Greek Macedonia. Venizelos had already argued in Parliament, in 1914, that the populations of the New Lands (areas included within Greece as a result of the Balkan wars), only by being educated in the spoken language, could learn Greek. Triantafyllidis noticed that even the Albanian-speaking populations of Attica, at the gates of Athens, were not linguistically Hellenized. Elevated as a rationalist and feminist martyr, Hypatia has received a glossy shield of apologistic protection and is now a bipedal sacred cow. In the same way, everyone ignores Galileo's falseness and backstabbing and receives the interpretation of the inquiry into his science from biased sources. As well, the violence of the Alexandrian monks was not necessarily approved by the best elements in the local church. (See The Sayings of the Desert Fathers, editor Benedicta Ward.)

This is such an underappreciated video! As a greek many of the words and phrases are very familiar and, with the modern pronunciation, some of them are still in use! Particularly, my grandpa still says "άι εις τον κόρακα!". The only thing I wanted to correct is that ει would have been pronounced as a long /eː/ sound. Also υ would have been pronounced as /y/, similar to ü in german or to the u in french. Overall great video, though, very informative and fun, liked and subscribed!

Thanks for all these videos I watched during this past days, thanks for your interest for Antiquity, I like this period in history very much! დრილები, it is a georgian word/alphabet. But I dont know what it means, maybe name of the local tribe or place. Anyway, Georgian language is as old as Greek one, and it is more historically correct to say "Ancient Georgian kingdoms" Not "modern Georgian territory". Georgians always lived there, they are native people and had at that time 2 Georgian kingdoms, Colchis and Kartlis/Iberia. This two Georgian kingdoms were united sometimes there and here during the history, but final unification happened in middle ages, under king David. ქართველი ხალხი/georgian people, საქართველო/Georgia in georgian language. Because when you say "modern Georgian territory" It sounds like it wasn't before, like we say modern Turkey, as Turks-Seljuks migrated into predominantly Greek speaking lands and tok it. Georgians on the other hand, always been there. Ancient nation, with ancient history, cultur and language. You must know story about Argonauts, Jason and golden fleece, from Greek mythology? Where do you think it was? Or story about Prometheus, again from Greek mythology, who stole fire from Guds and gave it to people, where do think he was punnished? Im just saying, even though Georgia is ancient, with ancient culture, traditions, with one of the oldest languages in the world, which by the way doesn't belong to any language tree, it is language on its own, own tree of ქართველური ენა/georgian languages, this country is still very much under rated and almost forgotten by most. That is probably why you dont know about it, that is why most do not know about it. Just makes me said..

I admit, I don't know nearly as much as I'd like about Georgian history so this comment is very much appreciated. I have in fact been to Tbilisi and to this day I think Georgia is one of the best places I've been to. Your language is beautiful, and I have to admit the alphabet (though I can't read it) is the most beautiful one in existence! I will certainly be exploring your history more, thank you!

History is written by the victor. In the Ethiopian version, Memnon was cheated out of victory when Apollo disobeyed Zeus and interfered. It makes sense. Bird referred to Jordan as god in sneakers. Mayweather vs. Hatton was 1 of Mayweather's most dominant wins. Jon Jones vs. Gustafson. 1 on 1, it's usually a mismatch
@EudaimonVАй бұрын
What are you talking about??? There is no Ethiopian version of Memnon. Where did you come up with that.?? And for starters Memnon from Hellenic Mythology and Culture has nothing to do with Africa or Ethiopia.
@EudaimonVАй бұрын
Still waiting for your evidence to support and defend your argument. All you have said is just what you want to believe in. The academic field doesn't care about your personal speculations feelings and beliefs. Nobody cares about your personal fantasy story. Stop running away. Do better.
@EudaimonVАй бұрын
I suggest you start doing something instead of desperately seeking out. Stop crying out for some reason and do something.
@LLcoolNiceАй бұрын
@@EudaimonV you completely lost and got shut out in this argument. You didn't add anything intellectual to it either. I feel that much dumber after having gone back n forth with you 😂🤣
@EudaimonVАй бұрын
@@LLcoolNice Ok easy, I use logic and Go by reality side and Facts. You on the other hand have nothing but fantasy claim personal beliefs and feelings using insults instead of defending and supporting your argument. Proving to everyone you have not read the Epic Poems or know anything about the matter. Pathetic and embarrassing yourself. A disgrace to your ancestors try to get recognised by desperation. By crying out for some attention. Now that's pathetic. So these are the facts. Homer who created the Idea of mythical kingdom of Aethiopia in the 8th century BC in the Odyssey locates it across Cyprus next to the Arameans around Sidon. Connecting it to Oceanus aka the Mediterranean Sea. Hesiod 8th century BC in his Theogony says in the that the mythical kingdom of Aethiopia from Hellenic Mythology is in the East where the sun rises. Relating it to Eos a Titaness in the Hellenic pantheon a deity and personification of the Dawn and Helios the sun titan pulling his chariot. Hesiod also says East. Guess where Africa is South. Guess where Ethiopia is?? Even more south of Egypt and Libya. So I can support and defend my argument with Facts. The question is can you??? Or are you just prove me right just by running away.?? Your move. Go. Do better.

Your videos are such a breath of fresh air...Everything is well polished with proper introduction and writing and immersive to the viewer with Ancient Greek readings and great imagery. The way you read these is know as "Erasmian" dialect. Im Greek, and withiut any annotations on the screen,if i just heard you read these out loud, i wouldn't understand ANYTHING. This is not the xorrect way to pronounce ancient Greek. It might be considered "dead", but remember,same case with Latin, it's only realistically used in church,like in the orthodox church. We have a roughly solid base for what ancient latin sounded like, based on the modern day languages that are closest to them (Italian mostly, Spanish to a lesser extent). Same happens with Greek, we modern Greeks might have dropped the long and short vowel differentiation, but most definitely pronounce these better. Sorry for the long comment, congrats on your video,just giving an explanation, it sounded nothing like Greek! Cheers,and keep it up!!

There were probably some things that would be useful, but generally speaking, there would little benefit to train as if it were 3 thousand years ago. In fact, it would be regressive. To think that with all the advanced technology in training, nutrition and psychology, in addition to other factors, that ancient Greeks would run rough shod over modern-day champions is, in my opinion, ludicrous. The boxer Jack Johnson would probably beat most of the ancient boxers. Usain Bolt would run rings around the fastest runners they had. And so on and so on...
