1:17:47 - This is essentially how I feel about Elden Ring vs the Souls series. Technically speaking, Elden Ring is superior and more polished than Souls, but I still prefer the latter because ER went overboard with how it wants you to play the game. Enemies are way to overturned and the window you're supposed to punish them is overly specific, and too many bosses have variable combo branching & seemingly infinitely stamina. It's a good thing, even DS did it, but DS only did it with some bosses, whereas ER does it with every single boss. It gets monotonous and tedious really quickly. I know ER is not a sequel to Souls, more of a spiritual successor, but I think my point still stands as a comparison between different games of the same subgenre.

Just finished the steam release of Ys Chronicles, and I think they're some flawed, but great games. I'm from The Legend of Heroes side of Falcom so I'm more into turn based games, but I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to the new combat systems in the other games, when I pick the series back up I'm going with Ys 6

I was first introduced to the concept of Ro3K from DW5: Empires, it became the only thing I played for a good year. The best thing about it is you could make custom characters, based on a preexisting character's moveset. Yes it's basically a custom skin for that basic character, but it hits differently when I could make my whole group of friends in the game and run the custom campaign fighting side by side with my buds.

I first played the game when I was just a wee 4th grader in elementary. I did not remember the promise Riou and Jowy made in the beginning because I only had access to the Playstation on every school holiday not including weekends because my parents were strict about gaming, so it had been at least half a school year between starting the game and clearing it. I sat on the throne not thinking much about how Jowy is waiting for me with just a few days at best counting down to his demise. I only learnt about the true ending when I revisit the game mid-2020 during the lockdown. My heart fucking sank. It's an almost perfect game to me. The only thing that would make it perfect in my eyes would be mechanically challenging superbosses, but with so much side content it has to offer it's barely a complaint. Heck, those samurais you encounter if you tried to do the early Matilda glitch is basically on-par with the average JRPG superboss

How many of these listed aren't ps4 as well.. lol...

Hopefully the remake/remaster fixes the issues the game has and adds more quality of life to the game. 🍬 🍫

And the answer is no, not even close. Because most of those games are all PS4 quality crap games. Virtually none of them are PS5 next gen worthy games... And here we are 5 years into the life of the PS5 with nothing.

Azure Dreams was reviewed so poorly because it was a rougelike(Most people had little to no experience with that genre), and the graphics weren't fully 3D. I bought this game new when it first came out, and remember it fondly. Coming hot off the heels of FF7, my friends thumbed their noses at it, but I was all in. Great game and great review!

I miss Kessen 2. It was the improvement Kessen 1 needed. Kessen 3 went on its own direction, K2 Story and characters are weird as heck, but man was it engaging and fun.

I would so, so like to have complete PAL Dreamcast collection one day, but this... I cannot justify getting *this* game for *that* price. Goodby complete PAL set.
