Hi guys. Have you had any trouble with the mog being to high and/or wide to go every where you have wanted to go?
@PatandJele
@PatandJele Ай бұрын
Hey The width can be an issue sometimes but honestly not often. There were a few tracks in southern WA that I wouldn't recommend taking a Mog down or even a 200 series if you don't like scratches. The height was fine most of the time. Obvisouly you need to jump out and spot a bit more because it can get pretty close. There are more and more trucks travelling and I think it gets better and better. Some roads have a GVM limit though which can be more of an issue🙄

@@MikeSmith-qs2nr we know heeaaaps of families doin van or trucklife with kids, babies, toddlers. Definitely possible :) but also definitely not for everyone. It's all about how you want to spend your life. We saved money, don't eat out, don't spend money other than truck parts, fuel and food. We do all the repairs ourselves, a skill that we tought ourselves as well as buildimg the entire truck from scratch ;) Like I said, it's not for everyone but it is definitely the way we love living. PS: When you run out of money (we always have some savings set aside for bigger repairs) we simply do some work, wherever we are. It is so easy to find a job if you are actually willing to work. Hi any chance of getting an update on the Ogo? How’s it holding up on the bad roads?
@PatandJele
@PatandJele 2 ай бұрын
We will be doing a review of everything in our truck in the coming months. The OGO has held up well, the only thing that happed was the plastic attachment to the agitator (where the motor locks in) stripped out, but OGO sent us out 2 replacements within a week. It was our fault for holding the button to agitate when everything was getting a bit full and solid and we haven't needed the second replacement since.

Awesome vid! Following! What was the reason you replaced the thermostat in the first place? Curious, cause my om642 is running a little too hot for my liking. 250+ oil temp…
@PatandJele
@PatandJele 2 ай бұрын
That sounds a bit very hot.... we were worried it was getting stuck shut or open, it would take a while to get warm and on long uphill sections it would get warm (coolant temp 110C). Oil temp is usually 10 or 20C hotter. With temps of 250C you are going to do some damage. Have you checked your oil cooler isn't blocked? Its in a terrible spot in the middle of the V, also a common source of oil leaks....

Just curious! why are you driving with the high temp light on?
@PatandJele
@PatandJele 2 ай бұрын
The temperature warning is adjustable and oftentimes set very low from the ADF (around 85C). Furthermore when our DC-DC charger draws heaps of current it drops the voltage which changes the resistance on the gauge, causing it to come on even earlier. We have an engine guard on the engine block and one on the gearbox, as well as temperature sensors on all the portals and diffs. The OM 352 can easily run at 100C, and the hottest we have gotten was 102C on a 43C day in the Kimberly. I would get worried if it heads towards the 115 to 120 mark.

My opinion is that the Bungle Bungle area is the most spectacular place of any remote part of Australia. My first visit was over 20 years ago and I almost had the place to myself. I’ve been a few more times since taking southern friends there as we live in the NT. These days in the peak season I believe the amount of visitors detract from the experience. Some don’t show it the respect it deserves. You were fortunate to visit during a time when less people are there. I’m glad you got to see and enjoy the experience. I also think that it’s a very much must visit location, just don’t tell anyone or everyone will will want to go there 😂. P.S. no more little dances please Patrick😅😅😅.
@PatandJele
@PatandJele 3 ай бұрын
Yes most definitely. I don't want to imagine what it looks like in peak season with buses full of tourists getting ferried through. Although there are more remote places in the Bungles to go to like hiking to the five fingers overnight. That is something that would have to be done in the winter with more mild temperatures. We are glad we went when it was so empty, only one of the campgrounds was still open when we were there and there were about 5 cars there in total. Amazing time and the temperature at night was comfortable, we ended up not having to use our AC at all in the few days we were there. Haha roger that, I'll stick to things I know I'm good at ;)
