I've got a first gen SX76, bought from AGR machinery (just Edisons with one of their MANY scam names that they have buried over the years). Had it for for a very long time, back before everyone knew what a pile of excrement Simon Mills is and his dangerous imported Chinese equipment that kills people. Ironically, I actually love the saw, more reliable and easier to start than my Stihl or my Husky, but out of the box, it never oiled, the plastic worm gear strips the teeth on the first pull, they sent me another one, same issue. one day I might try and match up an alloy worm gear from another saw that will fit, I am shocked how long they have been using the current name Edisons, and that they never dropped the baumr-ag brand. They don't even care, and that's why their equipment kills people, chainsaws are one of the "safest" things they sell... and they DO NOT meet the Australian safety standards. Incredible that the government allows this crap to happen for over a decade. Some of their hydraulic stuff, and tractor implements etc... are absolute suicide machines :(

I bought an SX62 8 years ago and it still starts and runs fine . I was so impressed I bought another two 7 and 6 years ago . All 3 are still going fine . All 3 run a 20 inch bar and I cut around 40 tons of firewood a year including iron bark , red gum , stringy bark etc.. The reason I use 3 is if one goes blunt I just change saws . The only problem I have is they are impossible to start when hot after refueling and need to sit 1/2 hour to cool down .

Yeah, my sx62 is about the same age, bought it in 2015. Still runs great. Even bought a 24" bar for it. Pretty happy with it. Not as much use as yours by the sound of it but a fair bit. I had the same problem as you in the beginning with not starting when hot. I was using recommend 91 octane fuel. Started using 98 octane fuel, starts first pull every time when hot. Haven't tried 95 or anything else. Cheers.

Hey Anthony! you measured the diameter of the piston, NOT the "cylinder diameter"/bore. And I can tell you now bro, that the piston has substantially less diameter than the bore. Your displacement measurement is spurious... No wonder the seller has ignored you. Also mate, I dont know what website you bought your SX75 from, but the website I bought mine from clearly advertises the displacement at 62cc. Just because a Falcon 500 is called a Falcon 500 does not mean it has a 500 cubic inch engine LOL
@anthonysgarage5283
@anthonysgarage5283 Жыл бұрын
No, actually I measured from the cylinder to the opposite side of the piston, therefore, only didn't measure half of running clearance Secondly bro, if this was 62cc, with 35mm stroke, it would have to have a 47.5mm cylinder. No engine I have ever worked on had pistons 2.5mm smaller than cylinder, that would be pretty shit lol. Thirdly, when I purchased mine, it was advertised as 75cc. Yes Edisons ignored me at first, but when I took this matter & the sx92 matter to fair trading, Edisons were forced to change their advertising. Still not correct, but closer.. Perhaps you should do your own calculations, or use online calculator for yourself. I forgot. Falcons are shit. Lol.

Chinese chainsaws are junk it's better to shell out a few coins for a German made model. I've had too many problems with Chinese made chainsaws including the bar which always seems to work loose the chains themselves which are pure junk, leaking bar oil and problematic carbys not to mention cheap plastic parts that break.. China couldn't even manufacture ball point pens until 2017, they simply couldn't engineer them

I've got one...three years now...every winter I spend a a few weeks cutting the second hardest wood in the world...Gidgee wood...put a good bar on it, a full chisel chain, put a rubber washer around the air intake as usually the air filters do not seal correctly and use Putoline TT Trial Pro two stroke oil and mix at 40-1...I mix 1 litre a time and use a 20ml syringe to ensure I get exactly 25ml of oil per litre...So I have probably used mine for over 100 hours cutting the second hardest wood in the world and three years later...no problems....they're good money....a good tool.

.....apparently in the motorised bike columns it's been mentioned that the Chinese look at the full capacity of the piston chamber which includes the unswept combustion chamber not just the displaced capacity . ..Mine is an sx72 brand new which I purchased exactly ten years ago. I couldn't start it then and not doing much better today .It'll only run with choke engaged with help of the starter fluid .Soon as I disengage choke it cuts out. Naturally something isn't right with the carby. Since it's useless as is , I guess I'll pull it apart . I'm ignorant about those types of carburetors .

I got an older SX92 and I don't know whether I would have preferred the old big banger 92cc SX92 or the newer 71cc SX92. The newer looks to be an absolute dream in comparison to the old style. It has an angled cylinder, fuel tank where the air filter is, awful air filter, a few extra kg of ballast and is awful to get into the air cleaner of. Despite being pretty godawful you can still get the same chainsaw as a Giantz 92cc from Hardly Normal or Amazon.

Yeah, I checked some reviews on the older model, didn't like the design either.Was about to buy sx82 when I saw sx92 later model. It's unfortunate that later model isn't 92cc as was advertised, but it is good design, easy to work on & after market or oem parts available as it is Husqvarna 372xp clone. 52mm big bore kit fits relatively easy & gives a bit more torque. @Hydrogenblonde 3 жыл бұрын
I have the old sx92 as well. It is actually 79.6cc, not as bad as the new sx92 but is still false advertising. As you say the air filter is rubbish. I made a adapter to fit a Victa lawn mower air filter and cut away the top cover to get better access to it. After a while the crap nicasil lining came off the cylinder bore (admittedly after a lot of work) and I did the big bore mod. I got the cylinder off my old Tecumseh lawn mower and fitted that to the crankcase. I now have 58.5mm bore and 39mm stroke, 104 real cc. Goes pretty good now but is bloody heavy. Bottom line is though purchasers should not have to rebuild and re-engineer a product. It should be good to go out of the box. I don't know what people do that don't have the tools or the knowledge to re-engineer everything they buy. There seems to be a epidemic of new items that don't last or don't even work at the moment.
