Al So good to have you back! Life goes on doesn’t it! I Always am enthused by your continued positive waves. WFPB diet , walking and a little body workout can do wonders but we also need each other. I am still learning and making mistakes but moving forward at 73. Falls are always a setback as I have learned several times lately. I still think about starting a group here in Seattle like you folks have there. Vegan food is available but most folks don’t get the harmful effects of free oils and processed foods. Anyway this life style has certainly helped me and I continue to learn and improve at 2 1/2 years in. As they say enough said for now. Health is Wealth. Cheers - Elmer in Seattle 👴🏻

Hello Sir ! .. after how long time of plants based diet disappeared your bruised hands ❓ I am male 56 years old, I have a stent on my heart for 3,5 years, I follow wfpb diet for almost 3 years very strictly ( no oil and no nut) , I am taking vitamin d3 and b12 every second day each vitamin. But I have cold hands mostly of the time, in the summer not so much. Does anyone know the cause? Thanks 🙏
@AlSchmidt11062 ай бұрын
The disappearance of bruising came after I started taking 1 tablespoon of cocoa every day. I saw a video by Dr. Michael Greger that discussed cocoa thickening your skin. Unfortunately, I can not find that video. I did find this reference at Google: www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=cocoa+and+thicker+skin. I do know that after taking just one tablespoon of cocoa every day I have noticed a drastic reduction of bruising and tearing of my skin. As to your cold hands check out this video from Dr. Greger: nutritionfacts.org/video/keeping-your-hands-warm-with-citrus/ While not as drastic a change as the cocoa, I did notice I had more tolerance for cold. Hope this helps.

@@AlSchmidt1106 very useful Mr Al , but dr . Esselstyn did not say anything about cocoa .I will start straight away with a tablespoon of cocoa and more citrus fruits. God bless you Mr Al 🤗 When is better to take cocoa powder, morning/ evening? Thousands thanks 🙏 Please advise me how to take the cocoa powder, with water, warm/ cold?

Hi Al, really really really appreciate your efforts and your story. Thanks for your support of the wfpb eating and the efforts you have gone to in promoting the benefits of the no fat high vegetable eating. I'm in need of accountability and help. Not sure where to reach out but had the idea of commenting here for support. I've been trying to transition from vegetarian junk food to clean vegan eating for 4+ years. The difference for me is night and day when I can stay away from the junk food. Surrounded by junk food constantly in my home and at the school where I teach. Would hope that I can be an example to others but I falter so often. I have many many intolerances to food including rice, oatmeal, potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, apples, oranges, bananas, melons. At the moment if I can eat cucumbers, arugula, berries, dates I seem to do ok. I run into getting hungry because of busy schedule with multiple jobs and family life all of which I love. Hoping to find out how to stay satiated without the starch or to find a starch that doesn't cause unpleasant reactions --- joint pain, stomach upset, etc. I do have to say that even though I struggle with the junk food, the eating of healthy foods and elimination of all meat and almost all dairy has helped me in staying healthy despite illness at school. Thanks Al!!

Hi Al. Still here. Still vegan. My daughter is a senior in a biomedical program where she is interning as a pathologist. She recently helped with an autopsy of a man who had died early. His colon was painfully over filled with undigested compacted food. He was reduced to spending most of his time in pain and watching TV. The doctors were unkind in the autopsy in their comments. This saddened my daughter and me. My prayers for the spreading of your great example.
