The Enclave most definitely are fascist, you dont need to have an unelected, singular ruler for a fascist state, the definition of fascist clearly states "total power held by an individual OR small group, most typically in the form of a one party state", which perfectly sums up the Enclave. Additionally, the first Enclave president didn't win via election, they simply impeached the last elected President for jaywalking and put one of their own in the big chair. They also meet every other criteria for a fascist organization, far-right, ultranationalist, use forceful suppression of opposition, are highly militaristic, have a distinct social hierarchy with the Enclave government at the head, the Enclave army beneath them, and all non enclave personnel being viewed as "near human mutants", all of this is very fascist. They are still awesome though 🗿🇺🇲

Fallout 4 has America rising which let's you play enclave. That's the best you get Honestly enclave don't really seem that bad when you think about it. Super mutants and ghouls are basically monsters in Bethesda fallout and the brotherhood of steel are basically techno barbarians. Enclave don't want to kill everyone, in fallout 3 it was general autism who went rogue and basically instigated a war. If anything the brotherhood seem more like rhe bad guys, they oppress people and deprive them of technology because they are zealots no better than tribals except with power armor instead of spears. As for the enclave Bethesda always poteays them in a bad light and never explores them further than surface level...but then you can join the brotherhood and somehow the guys who will gin you down for having a calculator aren't evil

I mean, A+ for effort, but let's be honest, Bethesda doesn't give a damn about the lore anymore. They kinda tried with f3 and the DLCs, but using the Enclave as the baddies was a huge mistake imo. Most of the problems (appart from the awful Bethesda writing we all know and *not* love) come from them being there, instead of making DC a really fkd up wasteland of rubble due to the numerous bombs that should have struck. They wanted a good vs evil story in the very gray world that is fallout and of course it didn't quite work. Maybe come up with a new faction instead of relying on the BoS for everything idk. F4 of course abandoned the idea of being an RPG altogether, and it became a FPS with some light RPG elements like leveling and perks. They wanted to make it cool and that's about it, literally Skyrim's power fantasy but with guns. And finally F76 is basically the same concept as F4, I'm not even interested on that one. At least they reintroduced weapon degradation xd? TL;DR: Bethesda wants to make Skyrim with guns because that sells games, a good vs evil story is easier to write. If something doesn't quite fit the lore or it creates retcons (especially with respect to f1, f2 or fnv) it doesn't matter.

What about Vault 13? We can clearly see that it is near shady sands, and I don't think the NCR would put the materials which would be required to completely reconstruct a vault into a project like that, as they could be better used as war materials.

I really hope they make a fallout set in Mexico where the Enclave and the NCR are the main factions instead of another brotherhood Like in fallout 76 you would expect the Enclave to be a faction but somehow Bethesda’s obsession with the Steel makes them a faction that appears everywhere Atleast New Vegas did it good and the brotherhood were just weaklings

Not sure how many people have played it, but America Rising II had a pretty solid interpretation of what a playable Fallout 4 Enclave would look like. Im not going to spoil it because it genuinely is a great mod and if you wanted the Enclave in Fallout 4, I cannot recommend it enough, but it does provide a bit of a unique take on the Enclave. It doesn't make them the good guys by any means, but compared to previous versions of the group, it does flesh them out a bit as faction.

I wasn't especially impressed by the portrayal of the NCR (or BoS for that matter), but it would make sense if they have fallen and are a shadow of themselves, and seems like the show is intimating Lucy will become its leader.

My personal headcanon is that the NCR still exists, just weakened with the loss of the capitol, with Moldaver being one of the many local claimants to the legacy of the NCR. There's probably a more powerful and legitimate successor government around New Reno or Vault City, shifting the NCR's center to Northern California while the central and southern parts revert to tribalism until reclamation expeditions can be organized. We'll have to see who Hank was working for, but it's possible it was House or Caesar who orchestrated the strike on the NCR as I doubt Vaults are given atomic warheads.

Okay spoilers but if you're watching this video I doubt you care. This, along with Vault-Tec being the ones that destroyed the world (which is a can of worms I'm NOT going to get into) are my only major gripes with the show. I thought it was funny, interesting, showed creativity, and had interesting and compelling characters. But the fact that the NCR, the most powerful nation in the West and possibly in the ruins of the world, was destroyed by a nuke in a random vault because of a marriage dispute is the dumbest and most disrespectful thing I've ever seen since Disney's butchering of Star Wars. I'm in the Josh Sawyer camp that the NCR is getting too big for it's own good, Fallout is becoming too civilized and we need to add some tension to spice things up and keep it post-apocalyptic. Killing off or wounding the NCR is fine and to me I think it'd be a good way to go with the faction but could we not give it the respect and care that it deserves? Make it a death at the NCR's own hands, make it a fault of increased militarism, make it a fault of an economic crisis, or hell just have another faction cripple the NCR enough to have it descend into anarchy. Do something that doesn't just provide shock value! And the weird thing is that I've seen the NCR die or at least get weakened and it only lasted ~100 years, meanwhile the BOS has existed since literally the Great War and has only faced a losing war that they mysteriously bounced back from out of nowhere. I know I'm nerd ranting but I'm mostly doing this because I want your guys' opinion on this, what is your take on this situation?

Solely within the confines of the show, it is very hard to argue the NCR isn’t dead imo. Most if not all references to the NCR are allusions to their government either getting nuked, a retelling of their story on a chalkboard ending with the NCR capitol’s demise, said to have been a failure by Maximus, and getting blasted by the Brotherhood of Steel at the end. If the show wanted to allude to the NCR still being around I don’t think it did it well at all. We don’t see any NCR infrastructure, caravans, currency, or vehicle patrols outside of their main HQ where Moldaver, who acts as their leader in the show for the NCR, dies (unless she comes back somehow like how she lived for hundreds of years). The only way I can imagine the NCR still existing is if it did collapse into way smaller splinter groups which wouldn’t really be the NCR anymore anyway.
