I love these videos. I've made this for my family, now, and although there was an unfortunate juggling incident between stove and table that made it look much less nice, I am happy to report that it was incredibly tasty.

As for adding sugar?? WTF?? Sorry, sugar is not a dinner ingredient, and the Asians don't use sugar in fried rice. Before y'all challenge me, I'M ASIAN! And, I've lived in Asia. There are many ways to reduce the salt. One of which is using less soy sauce, and more vegetables to compliment the flavor. Historically that's what the Chinese did. But sadly that won't fly in the US as we rely on pills for everything. I'm sorry, but Europe and Asia will frown at sugar being added unless it's a dessert food.

With all due respect, if you want to be a respectable cook, and respect your ancestors, FORGET THE MICROWAVE!! Microwaves remove the important vitamins and nutrients.

Ah! Kroepoek! Shrimp wafers/chips are the best thing since sliced bread. Usually use them with Indonesian cooking - surprised to see them with Chinese.

I thought the same thing ! Mine is in the oven now, and when it comes out, in about 35 minutes, it will be resting for 10 or 15 minutes maximum, and eaten while it's still hot-ish . . . . .

Love this channel but 2 questions. The whole chicken that was golden brown is not the same chicken you chopped up and had pink in the meat. How do you get that whole golden chicken? Why even show a picture of it, if thats not even close to what were eating?

Papa's recipe is perfect! PERFECT!! Thankyou ❤️ 🙏🏼 I've tried dozens of recipes. Even made a kind of fruit stock over the span of hours that one restaurant recommended. I have several ingredients sitting idle in my pantry that I've accumulated for fried rice recipes over the decades 🙄 But yours is perfect!! Thankyou from my whole heart, in Australia 🙏🏼🙏🏼

The "fear" of MSG probably came from it not having a casual name for an average buyer, it's acronym is the chemical composition itself. like if i don't know what it is I would double think before buying. Imagine if salt is still called sodium chloride in the market lmao
