I always hated the OST to Maximum Velocity, but I truly believe it was two reasons. GBA soundfont, and using SNES F-Zero rules, E.G. 5 laps, boosts being a thing you get for completing the lap. Maximum Velocity felt like a few steps back in multiple ways when it came out. These F-Zero X style reimaginings definitely highlight how much of it was a soundfont issue though.

The real question you need to ask yourself is what kind of F-Zero machine would Mr. Zero have. Seeing as this is supposed to be a boss race, the stats on that thing would likely be overpowered, to say nothing of the AI behavior. What's more, this music sounds like it would take place in a Fire Field 2, or something potentially more difficult! Still would take Fire Stingray to that. 😉 🔥

I'd imagine Maximum Velocity style levels of rubber banding with Zero's machine. That thumbnail image makes Zero seem like he's in the competition himself than spectating...
