Very Nice video on those 80 model knives Man! I just recently bought the gutmann special forces hollow handle sawback survival knife just like the one you have there. In pretty good shape too. Only problem is there is no screw on butt cap! The seller must have lost it a while back. Anyway got it for a really good price. Just need to find a butt cap that will fit it. If you have any suggestions let me know. Anyway great videos ! Keep the videos coming! Take care. Kenneth Smith

I have the Aitor Jungle king I made in Spain. Almost 40 years old..it was issued to some Spanish special forces units..a very very strong blade..in the sheat you have a skinner knife..fire rod..sling shot..and more stuff..also in the handle are much stuff..the knife has also a sawback. A sawback that really can used as a saw. The blade is 400 euro's.. Its a real near indestructible professional survival Bowie..a very complex handle/blade attachment.. I also have a strong Buckmaster 184 clone from end 1980s..but there is no name on it. Nice video man! You have such great blades..i wish i had a original Buck 184.. Here is how I drove these bolts into the pommel ends, initially I was going to do a bolt pommel cap but I changed my mind and just drove them in and tipped them. Once I got them to depth I cut the hex bolt end off with my metal band saw and then just tip them on my high speed wheel grinder. I know these will break a vehicle window glass just focus on very edge corner of the window down by the mirror. When I was a professional firefighter/EMT we used a similar tipped tool for entry, not a knife and also a window punch tool of course. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bp9pY8mKztm0oYk.html

@snow_tacknives2024
@snow_tacknives2024 Ай бұрын
In the past I've said anything over 12" should have 5160 or 1060 because you need that shock resistance with it being only .60.70 percent carbon content. I fi Used 52100 on anything longer I would not quench the entire blade during heat treatment, I would only do a differential heat treatment on it. So bottom line is you can use it just make sure you don't finish with a too hard of a blade, or it could break under stress at that length.

Well the Medieval Gladius 17-1/2" blade I made out 5160 is seriously razor sharp and only problem with it is I actually made it too sharp and that makes it extremely dangerous. The light weight Talon Claw sword is the one I would grab if I had multiple attackers it's super light and fast, very sharp 22-1/2" X 1" blade with 7-1/2" handle the handle is solid liquid cold welded full tang, it 's cross of Calvary sword and Wakizashi, it's not going to weigh you down.

I too have a modest sword collection each of them different, 4 are sharp and one blunt for training purposes in stainless. One is a very sharp iaijutsu katana that I keep by my bed. One is a shortened highly customised ninjato, a straight gatana which was a gift from a friend and a USMC NCO sword which frankly is my favourite, those 3 in stainless steel. I also have a select collection of sheath and folding knives. Some people say that stainless steel isn't great for blades but I think it's well good enough. I also have an original issue Gurkha kukri and a tactical tomahawk. Variety is the spice of life. I've had many cuts on my fingers and hands but now I wear cutproof gloves when I sharpen and play with them.
@snow_tacknives2024
@snow_tacknives2024 2 ай бұрын
A stainless steel sword will kill and is just as lethal as a carbon steel sword....when it comes to the blade hitting the human body with a single blow the energy and cutting force will kill instantly. As combat medic/medical specialist /EMT with over 3000 EMS calls to my credit and I studied to be a physician assistant understanding the human body our bodies are under osmotic pressure, so just the single blow from a stainless steel sword or carbon steel sword will cause hypovolemic compromise to the vascular blood pressure from the energy in "joules" delivered from the blow to the body which is under osmotic pressure, then comes cardiovascular compromise from instant blood loss from the cut regardless of the blade steel. Carbon steel swords hold their resale value better because they're easier to sharpen and the medium range carbon content can handle severe blunt force shock better, there's way less chance they'll break under combat conditions. Self-defense applications are very different than combat applications. Carbon steel=combat conditions and Stainless steel=self-defense applications when it comes to swords and their steel. Stainless steel sword is still a formidable self-defense weapon, carbon steel sword is a formidable combat weapon.

Look at the weak primary grinds?" And the spirit of KONG was not happy. So I re-profiled the clip point to perfection combat standards and did my aggressive 3/4" wide hollow grinds down to zero. My Friend this is a great collection of the best survival knifes of all the times. I hope to have the opportunity to contact you to share with you some pictures of my Marto Brewer knifes and the Aitor JKI and JKII . The french guy has one of the prototypes of the JKI the Aitor Jungla 863 leather sheath. I have one stamped in the cap but different sheath. The difference between Marto Brewer Explora and explorer marks is because the explorer stamp is a especial order for the us air force. and of course a little unclear issues of Marto because they don't want to pay royalties to Mr. Brewer Carias if they won the contract. And the legal battle begin. Thanks for share your video. Send special thanks to the french guy for the collaboration. Saludos Amigo
