Thank you kindly. The interviews were somewhat unexpected, but we were determined and got very lucky, obviously! Personally I think the A&E documentary "Midnight In Savannah" by Craig Haffner is a stand-alone, stand-out, and movie level documentary that set tone for others to come but never eclipsed either. I think it's time for another! #Musical #documentary #chicago #goodmantheater #savannah #Bonaventurecemetery #film #TV #novel #craighaffner #sherrywright #Producers #midnightinthegardenofgoodandevil

I saw the show Saturday. It needs work ,- the first act is too long and a bit unfocused - but even so, I loved it. The set is phenomenal, and the cicadas help to put you in Savannah. The costumes were also brilliant, especially for the Lady Chablis. The show belongs to J. Harrison Ghee as Chablis. His ",11 ,o'clock number", about being yourself was the musical highlight, and he dominates the narrative, which is also a bit of a problem. Who's show is this - Jim Williams or Chablis? I'd go with Chablis! The voodoo element made for a strong opening, but it went on too long, leading you to expect a different kind of show. And much as I liked the Lavella Cole story, it took you away from the narrative. All of the performances were strong, although I wish that Sierra Boggess had more to sing. Jason Robert Brown is a fine composer and arranger, which is evident from the very start of the show, and he certainly knows how to craft songs in different genres. Where he falls a bit short is in his lyric writing. His lyrics tend to be bland and on the nose, with very predictable rhyming. But the audience LOVED this show. The fourth wall is broken numerous times during the show, which is a tad gimmicky. But when Chablis led the audience in a little spiritual exercise at the end of the show, they were all in. (The New York critics are gonna hate this!) It helps if you've read the book or seen the movie - I've done both - but this show is first rate entertainment. And so beautiful, especially the rendering of the cemetery. As the lady said, it makes you want to visit Savannah.

I always thought the statue looked rather like it was weighing up the bowls like a pair of scales. The title references a balance between Good and Evil, perhaps that's why the photographer thought the statue fitted the book title.

Kate, great commentary! Having known Jack Leigh for better part of 20 years or so before his untimely passing at 55 and his former wife, Susan Patrice, for many more now, I can assure you that was in his mind and so you called it rather aptly if I do say so myself. Uncanny that "Little Wendy,: aka, The Bird Girl, is no longer in Bonaventure where Jack is buried so closely to the front gates but what a life they made together! #jackleigh #photographer #Savannah #bonaventurecemetery #thebirdgirl #sylviashawjudson #sculptor ##midnightinthegardenofgoodandevil

Yes, its not really as creepy as one might think in person, much more fascinating and lively part of an artist residence who does incredible work. The current graveyard has over 700 dolls but shy of earlier ones he's created numbering in the thousands. Can't wait to share his world with others! #dolls #barbie #toys #tours

Shannon, if you like ancient graveyards, you will go gaga over the Nacoochee Methodist Cemetery, which predates the church - which itself is one of the oldest Methodist churches in Georgia. It includes ancient stone sarcophagi, shaped like houses. They were a tradition in Galicia and Navarre - the gold mining section of Spain - plus a large cemetery for the African-Americans, who did much of the labor during the Georgia Gold Rush. There was a Spanish-speaking colony in Northeast Georgia during the 1600s. (Richard from The Americas Revealed)

Thanks for commenting. Certainly, feel free to tell us what you know. Rarely do such multi-layered individuals have one-note or one-layer definitions of themselves, including details surrounding their deaths. I could tell you 3 versions with the hallway floor being the least believable one or at least to me. But on the short of it, I have seen over many years, how Jim's movie death has drifted into serving as the story of his actual death. If ever Savannah way, I'll invite you to experience my take on it which yes, isn't fit for print here. www.goodandevilx.com #midnightinthegardenofgoodandevil #mercerhouse #johnberendt #savannah #jimwilliams #kevinspacey

@@user-ut4vl2ps3p Well its because it only lived on DVD from 2012 until now and all of my fault! I think because so much went into it by the time it really came out, I was on to other things and found myself "over it," as it was too much to bear putting so much personal money and time into it. It was like I couldn't enjoy it even if not perfect, had value to the original goals of it. The film was edited by wonderful friends across 4 countries while they worked on other projects and all in all, took 5 years or so to make.
