Nothing was stolen from you. Centuries ago your baby would’ve died, but modern medicine gifted you life.

Stories like these really infuriate me that Christian nationalists are trying to legislate pregnancy and put women’s lives on the line for their extremism. Women’s health and experience in pregnancy is already so fraught even in very wanted pregnancies. Putting myself in this woman’s shoes.. how unpleasant and scary!

So what exactly was the reason for the emergency c section? Was it because you weren’t dilating? Was your midwife wrong about you being at a 6?

I'm from New Zealand where kunekunes are bred, I do not know who's saying that they don't root but I have never ever heard this. They most certainly do root. I suspect it's a personality thing just like any other animal. Most root and some don't. Just like how I have a pet goat who I've never seen bunt anything.... that doesn't mean I should start telling people that goats don't bunt!

It’s so hard i empathise fully with you. Had same tv experience 12 minutes for us and you definitely feel like the experience is stolen. Just wanted to hold my baby. Same thing ladies checked me and said head down at every appointment. I don’t think they ever know these modern midwife’s just have no clue.

I'm so sorry that you had to experience all of this! I'm sorry that your midwives didn't validate your fears or concerns. Just a comment as someone who's had a baby flip breech at 39 weeks and a different baby flip from breach to vertex at 38 weeks, I did not feel either of them. I would certainly think it would be that much harder to feel a baby flip at 20 weeks.

Please any woman watching this that thinks they want to have a homebirth let me tell you something home births are for women that can’t make it to the hospital in time and it’s an emergency and the baby comes out! The chances of having an absolutely perfect birth with zero complications it’s not 100% guaranteed it never has been. Many years ago before there were hospitals many babies died due to complications so women that think it’s cool to try and give a home birth are at an extreme high risk for losing the baby compared to the woman that go to the hospital and hospitals these days have very natural ways of giving birth in hospital and then your seconds away from emergency help. Your baby doesn’t have a choice so make the caring decision that has a very high level of survival by giving birth in a hospital. I wish home births were illegal. Please go to the hospital give your baby a chance at life.

If this is of any help, I had my first baby vaginally with epidural and I berely remember holding him the first time. My second I had emergency c section cause he was breached, with epidural, I remember when they rolled him into the room, but can't remember holding him or his face. Both times those first hours were total haze, and I think it has more to do with the intensity of labour and birth and crazy hormone and emotional high, than anything else.

I know this is 3 yrs later but your video popped up in my reccomendeds and SWEETIE!...You just told my Birth Story with my 1st baby. Hearing you express your emotions surrounding your story have quite literally opened the flood gates as well as the many memories that have all of a sudden started filling my mind. The crazy part is some of these memories I have been told since, have all of a sudden become things that I not only remember now, but I feel like they happened yesterday😢 All of this to say, My son made it and will be 25 yrs old come July 27th❤ I realized that I have never truly worked through the trauma that I suffered. Im not to the point of even being able to voice my experience and tell my story but I am in therapy now as a result of watching your video. So, I just want to say Thank You and hopefully I can tell my story soon❤

Sometimes really scary unexpected things happen during birth but this would've been preventable. I'm so sorry you had to go through this and they didn't just miss that the baby was breech but also ignored you when you knew something wasn't right and that you already had the need to push. Why wasn't there an ambulance? How dangerous to let a civilian drive in that situation? And have a civilian rush through traffic without a blue light or sirene??? Is that normal in the US?

Will I put them into soil after rooting? will they grow up?
@thislovelylittlefarmhouse

Yes! I'd recommend starting them off with some potting soil in a pot until they get some well established roots but you may have good luck sticking them right in the ground if you have a place they really like.

Hello Rachel, cool video, what is your opinion on kunekune and chicken sharing the same pasture ? but have separate barns. Thanks, Markus
@thislovelylittlefarmhouse
@thislovelylittlefarmhouse 4 ай бұрын
Hi Markus! From our experience it would probably work out fine as long as they had plenty of space. We have chickens that wander in and out of the pig yard and the pigs don't pay any attention to them. The one thing that you may have to figure out would be separating them for feeding.

Please RESEARCH Evening Primrose oil. There are risks here. There is nothing a woman needs to do to 'prep her cervix' other than wait for labor. And whats criminal is that there wasn't education and support in physiological breech birth. This shouldnt have happened to you. Im sorry...

Hello Rachel nice to meet you, I'm happy to come across your videos and now a new subscriber. My husband and I moved from California in December 2020 to Salem Missouri from city life to rural living. BIG change but so grateful for it. We would live to eventually get pigs and cows but for now we've upgraded our chicken coop area and made it bigger and added more chickens, now we have 25 and yes collecting eggs each morning is the most exciting part of the day, it's like finding little treasures everywhere 😊. We also have 4 rabbits which we use their manure for fertilizer ascwell as the chickens, which is extremely helpful for growing food. Thank you for sharing with all of us. Much love and blessings from Missouri Wrightchk

I’ve had 5 kids. I can’t believe your midwife didn’t send you to the hospital when your water broke! Especially being your first baby. You and they could not have known what was “normal” for you. I don’t believe you were not dilated at the first check. I’m so sorry this happened to you!!

Our cow has dried up and is expected to calve in March or April. How do you get her to let down her milk if she’s holding it back completely for her calf? My jersey did that years ago and wouldn’t give me anything, knowing her calf was in the stall next to her!
@jayadaradhika1408
@jayadaradhika1408 5 ай бұрын
Follow the method they use in India. Works every time. Let the calf suckle first for a minute or so, mama releases the milk, tie the calf next to mama so she can lick and nuzzle her calf while you are milking her. When you are done let the calf back on to nurse the last bit that's in there. It's very humane and keeps mama cow so happy that she won't ever be holding back her milk again. And you have a happy calf too. Win win all round. 😊

Buy a bottle of Olive Oil you know to be genuine, like Olio Santo. Place an unknown bottle and the Olio Santo in the fridge - side by side . If they both 'freeze' together, that's a good thing. I bought a big bottle of "Moroccan olive oil" that has yet to solidify, in a cold reefer and will use it for lamp oil.
