I cant believe you went this route after all the youtube videos demonstrating how those bushings fall off after a short while. Use a threaded shouldered bolt- grind down the head- cut to size- lock nut. Done forevermore.
@doitallgaragetx4 күн бұрын
@Skidmarks368 I was going to go that route, but didn't have time to go fetch all the hardware. They had these on the shelf at autozone and oreilly. If I have anymore issues, I'll definitely be using a bolt next time

Usually, one drains the pump oil, one drains engine oil, one is for fuel delivery.

I don't know what they put in your Summer washing fluid, where I live they only sell the Winter stuff (pretty much methanol and detergents), but make sure you have something at a high enough concentration that will prevent bacteria growing in your tank, while rare, some people who put water ended up with legionnaires disease after spraying it (it does get inside the cabin through the vents).
@doitallgaragetx2 ай бұрын
That's crossed my mind. I may put a few drops of glass cleaner (with ammonia) in the tank when I go to straight water.

Excellent saving tip. My wife does her things to her vehicle with 'premium' items and I'm more on the cheaper end of things when it will help me out. Same with my using shopping bags for the bathroom trashcan. Repurpose my used toothbrushes in my tool bag or firearms cleaning kit for soft brushing of some items. Pittsburgh tools in my truck for a possible fix on the side of the road or in case someone breaks in and takes them...Tekton, Gearwrench, Klein tools in my garage where it's more secure.
@doitallgaragetx2 ай бұрын
I agree with you there. I repurpose my tooth brushes and my old shirts, socks, Undies and towels. I cut them up and use them for shop rags. The one thing I don't skimp on is motor oil. I'm a mobil 1 synthetic guy. However, I do purchase the 5 quart jugs at walmart for much less than the auto parts stores.
@bonzo34852 ай бұрын
Way better tip would be to buy concentrated windshield washer fluid and just squirt 2 pumps into the bottle and fill the rest with regular tap water, the concentrates usually have the same addatives that stop minerals from depositing and will make about 100 gallons or more when used properly. Just dont do more than 2 pumps with the strong stuff because it will stain the tank blue and it will appear full even when its empty
@doitallgaragetx2 ай бұрын
Where would I buy this stuff and how much does it cost?
@Methodical22 ай бұрын
If you add dish soap it won't freeze in the winter, plus it will really clean your windshield with the added soap. I've caught a Walmart sale in the summer where they sold the below -32* fluid for $1.50 each. I think I bought about 10 or more gallons. It should last me for many winters.

You can get a free supply of "distilled" water from your house air conditioner condensate line or from your dehumidifier condensate tank. Add 1/2 teaspoon of dish detergent to help get road film from windshield. Living in a colder climate , you can start mixing in purchased -40* washer fluid starting in fall and then switch back to the "cheap stuff" starting in spring as the cold decreases.
@GabrielSBarbaraS2 ай бұрын
Don't forget in the summer, you can use straight distilled water, we get our distilled from the AC unit that would normally go on the ground. Saving money for us is more the game than saving money. ( We do buy nice things though sometimes also )
@doitallgaragetx2 ай бұрын
Agreed. I only used the wiper fluid because I already had it. Ill switch to straight water in the future.

Dollar Tree sells washer fluid. $1.25 a gallon.
@doitallgaragetx2 ай бұрын
Awesome. I'll check into it
@x-man50562 ай бұрын
You need at least a little bit of soap in the distilled water to break it's "surface tension". Like a teaspoon of Dawn dish soap should be enough in a gallon. Breaking the surface tension allows the liquid to be more absorbable by the dirt and oils on the windshield, lifting them faster and easier.
@Methodical22 ай бұрын
I add a little dish soap to all windshield washer fluids I use.

how good is that pump for softwashing would you recommend it and does it reach a 2-3 story home
@doitallgaragetx2 ай бұрын
Good question. When they work, they work great. Capable of reaching 2 stories + with ease. However, I had nothing but problems with it. I went back to using my 5.5 gpm Northstar pumps. In all fairness, I was and still am using 1/2" id hose, so that could have contributed to the 7gpm pump having problems. Some washers swear by the 7's and say they last for years, that just wasn't the case for me, unfortunately.

I made one a few weeks ago and works great! I kept both front wheels on mine though. Soon I'll make a cover for the opening to be able use it as a regular mower too. Not bad for a $40 fb deal.

Unfortunately, this one burned up in a forest fire several months ago. I grabbed another free mower from a curb a couple months back, but traded it for a gokart. I'll make another one eventually, but will design it a little differently.

Same exact shit I took my time and was extremely careful and it’s leaking stuff everywhere. How does everflo make shit products like this? I have a buddy who just spent $550 on two. I thought I had a leaky fuel hose on my bike, then I found out the metal outlet was loose, I could actually pull it out from the valve body, I thought it should be welded or at least made into one body that cannot be disconnected? Are all fuel valve built this way, I mean the outlet pipe can be pull out?

@jimbob8231 one of my favorite bikes. Wide seat, reasonable seat height, tame but powerful enough to have fun on. The carbs can be a bit*h, the front fender is expensive to replace if it gets broken & they are electric start only. I don't mind electric start if it has a back up kick or pull start. However, if you get in a pinch they can be push started. Just my 2 cents.
