I’ve had to pull a gun on somebody before in self-defense, and it’s a very intense experience. You don’t feel like a badass, you don’t feel like a tough guy, all you feel is fear and adrenaline. The idea that you could end a man’s life with the movement of a finger is super scary, and you have to keep your emotions in check to prevent yourself from doing something stupid.

I felt the same thing when I had to pull my knife on a kid who tried to mug me. I was 27 he looked like he was about 14. He put a gun up to me and I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards my knife. He was one inch away when I felt the weight of the gun wasn't right. I almost killed a kid with a fake gun. I'll never forget the fear in that boy's eyes.

Held a knife to a guy's throat who threatened to end me. He was an excon who was legit violent. It was no fun I knew if he moved on me I was going to prison for the rest of my life probably and I really didn't want to do what I would have had to do. Luckily it deescalated and we bonded one day when both our parents were in heart surgery and we talked in the waiting room and both apologized.

I got a wild WCW story for you that's pretty unrelated, but I swear it's true. When I was a young teenager in the early 2000's I was obsessed with wrestling. It's all I wanted to do. My mom had a ring built in our backyard (out of wood!) And we would have monthly shows. She was super supportive and through her determination and support developed a few contacts. which was pre internet, came across a friend of a friend who worked as a producer or something for WCW. She wrote him a letter and MAILED it to him along with a video cassette of our matches. She got a response which she showed me. it was polite and well worded. It also came with a ton of WCW swag. Vampiro and NWO shirts. Posters of past pay per views. Stickers. Great stuff. I was out of control excited. The sum of the letter was they enjoyed the video and would like to see what we could do in more of hardcore match setting as that was what the future was and they were looking for young brave talent. We went and KILLED ourselves with ladders, cookie sheets, boards over saw horse tables, 450s, brainbusters, Fire thunder drivers, and whatever other insane move we could learn from playing NO MERCY. We're talking 6 kids. None older than 16. Oh, and by the way two of us had real potential. Now, i was a WWF purist at the time but this was what I was sure was going to pursue as my career as a 15 year old kid. She sent the video off and got a reply a month later from WCW requesting more videos. Autographed pictures. posters and tees. The videos went and the request got more bizarre. Specific slanderous interview topics. Dangerous moves. and by the end dressing as WCW performers and mimicking them. To make a long story short: Eventually, after 3 videos sent, and only more extreme requests we realized they were getting a good laugh at our juvenile efforts and enjoying seeing a bunch of kids pulverizing each other. I still have the videos, though. theres some good stuff and goo memories on there.

Didn’t Harley Race used to not only carry but sometimes brandish a pistol? An unused knife (which could be totally legal depending on the size of the blade and what state he was in) seems minor compared to that.
@Isabelthompson99

Harley needed protection, sure he was an ultra tough guy but in the days of kayfabe the heels would often get jumped by multiple fans who were often armed themselves I remember Jim Cornette saying that one time he and Dennis Condrey got surrounded in the car park with no escape even though Dennis was packing and they were saved by the Rock and Roll Express who drove through the crowd and allowed them to escape, the heels in the territory days often had nuclear heat and were attacked on a regular basis so it was very common for wrestlers to carry guns

There was one or two involving Harlem Heat. Stevie Ray had a loaded gun and was (he was explaining this) very close on pulling it on Vader after a tag match, where he though Vader wronged him in the ring. Fortunately, right after the match Vader defused the situation and they were cool about it, instead of the situation boiling to a point of disaster. Another thing was Tenta destroying things backstage because he got screwed over, Harlem Heat were present and it was also Stevie Ray's story I'm basing this upon.

I'm shocked you didn't mention when Bischoff nearly had a heart attack backstage when he saw Goldberg Jackhammering Reece. Nevermind the backstage drama over who was gonna be the 3rd man for The Outsiders at Bash At The Beach 1996.

Bobby and Tony both worked at WWF, so why didn't they stick to whatever Vince did for them? Even if they said: "Well Vince does it this way" and they told them to p!$$ off, then maybe they should've figured out another way. No way should the commentators be changing in a public bathroom. We all know there are office areas in the back.

Incorrect, they pushed him heavily and he would have eventually gotten higher then (upper) midcard. However there wasn't room at the top at the time in Bischoff's eyes.

@@Hyde_Hill Yes because Bischoff and others in WCW weren't big fans of the cruiserweights. To be more precise,they didn't see Jericho being anything beyond a cruiserweight,same goes with a lot of those guys.

It’s a good thing Ron Simmons got away from that horrible “racism” in WCW. And warned the guy who would become the godfather that WCW is racist and kept holding Ron down in the mid card. I’m WWE we were able to see Ron Simmons blossom into what he could really be and put him where he really belonged…… The mid card. The same tired lame excuse for not achieving his desired success. Instead of just looking inside at what he’s not doing right, excepting the facts, and trying to do something about it. Just call everyone who doesn’t give you what you want a racist…….. Pathetic
