If Ric Flair and Jim Cornette tell you that you know nothing about wrestling.......then you know nothing about wrestling!
@derrickhaggard
@derrickhaggard 3 жыл бұрын
This was before Jim Cornette in my opinion lost later on "his intellect concerning how promotions are run" if they aren't run to his specifications on how they should be run. But before then yeah I'll admit Jim Cornette was a great heel manager in the 80s-early to mid 90s with great knowledge on how the Pro Wrestling business is run. But I'll admit he's not exactly in-touch with how modern-day promotions are ran, along with him not realizing why the way of running promotions in the style of how it was done in the 80s-early 90s won't exactly work in the modern era of the business.

@@abearbrown1594 I've listened to a couple of his podcasts and yeah he has nasty names for the WhatCulture guys and nasty names for those who correctly surmise that he's not in-touch with how promotions are run in the modern-day along pointing out how he doesn't realize running promotions the way they were run in the 80s-early 90s wouldn't work in the modern day.

Foley obviously went on to prove that he was one of the all time greats and WCW weren’t making the most of him but it’s not like he was wasted or mistreated at WCW. He was a main eventer feuding with the promotions top stars and at that point in his career that is pretty impressive. Its not as if the WWF immediately pushed him to the moon, he had to work really hard and get himself over in multiple gimmicks to get to the top. If anything he had to work harder to get to the top in WWF than he did to get to the top of WCW. Yes they put him in goofy promos but all of wrestling was fucking goofy at the time, He was in the fucking Chamber of Horrors match for gods sake. At least he wasnt in the Dungeon of Doom and if he went straight to WWF they probably would of put him in the fucking Godwins.

Foley didn’t mind the Lost in Cleveland skits. He was getting paid to stay off tv, and he didn’t mind that either. He left b/c of the 1 year anniversary of him losing his ear, telling Bischoff about it and how great of an angle it would be, and the announcers didn’t say NOTHING about it. He was fed up with the “politics” and he left. That’s what he has said in his book.

The Kimberly story is highly inaccurate. The Steiner Page fight happened in January of 2001. She left in June 00. So when they fought kim was long gone.

The WWE and Vince McMahon are routinely criticized for “killing” pro wrestling and many of these misgivings are well deserved. But suppose the Monday Night War played out differently and WCW ultimately prevailed? Videos like this prove that old school wrestling was doomed no matter what.

I wouldn't be happy with Kevin Sullivan, either, for killing my family, causing me to commit suicide, and be slandered as a murderer.

Legit didn't know about the Russo/DDP/Steiner/Wife thing. First time hearing that story and only reinforces that Russo is literal slime that ruined two promotions.
