In this video McCoy and I swap out the front lower control arms on a 2011 Honda Pilot. The rear bushings in the lower arm were shot but with 200k on them we opted to swap out the entire arm with the ball joint.
-Enjoy!

I found that Moog’s control arms with pre-installed ball joints were only a tad more expensive than the ball joint alone. Made life a whole lot easier than having to deal with a ball joint press and a very stubborn joint. Just replace the whole control arm.

What's "disposable" about this Pilot? It has 200K miles of living in the salt of NYC and just now getting ball joints/lower control arms replaced. That's a pretty good life and I'd like you to suggest a make/model/year SUV that doesn't need at a minimum ball joint replacement at 200K...

Agreed. Moog has been around for decades however, companies we've known as old timers do and have been outsourcing their parts to outside places like China without lowering prices nor informing the old time loyal customers of those changes ! Although, Moog has been a step above we believe to this day. Again...no collateral damage to the customers vehicle as it should be in all repairs.
