MikeRail Cutting Room Floor UHD Volume 13 begins late summer 2023 with the theme of the first set to short term replacement cars for the Capital Connection. A number of runs were made from Wellington to Palmerston North for the process of testing not only these cars but staff training as well. Here are a few shots of these B-04 and B-05 runs along with a few other second camera and away shots of other trains north and south of Palmerston North.
These are followed by a long video of the arrival, placing the cars in their storage area adjacent to the station and then both onboard and train staff doing the B-04 and B-05 changeover. There was apparently even an NCM on site. Finally the train departing southward back to the Capital. This is a long and drawn out video but still required many hours of editing, especially the sound track in which I have endeavored to remove most the nearby platform work, the council rubbish transfer station nearby the banging and crashing, trucks and loader horns and bucket scraping sounds etc. For those who like fast moving action you will need to fast forward as required.......
