I am starting to think about doing electrics, first thing to do is make a battery holder. The diesel tank seems to be a good a place as any.
I was really perplexed about how I was going to do the steel & rubber straps, but it kinda just fell into place.

Cheers mate. It can be a challenge to hide the electrics, so the more place I make to hide them the easier it is later.

So sick man. I love how you use scrap that you have laying around. I've been watching this build for a whileand I've gotten a bunch of inspiration for my NuKizer 6x6 build, most of the flatbed I did on that build is built from stuff I had in one of my scrap piles.

Well, as "Past Mark" did you such a good turn with the mounting bracket, the least you can do is to look after "Future Mark" by squirrelling away abandoned ideas and half-made items. What goes around comes around! I once had a lowrider with a Suzuki SP370 engine in it. One day I bumped it down a hill because I was too lazy to kickstart it and I was on a hill anyway. To my utter astonishment this simple act "machined" all the sprocket-driving splines off my gearbox layshaft. I was heartbroken, till I recalled that for years I´d been saving a thoroughly shagged bottom end of an SP engine in the garden, using it s a chock to save me fixing my Land Rover´s handbrake. This apparently useless bottom end provided me with a serviceable layshaft and I was all smiles again. It´s still in there now, though the lowrider´s slumped in a corner of the garden and all overgrown with weeds...

@@OldIronRC Exactly! Mind you, for every story that justifies my hoarding junk there are twenty pieces which never find a use, but I find that it´s best not to think about it that way. i just remember the successes.
