1996 Mercedes SL500 R129 Project Heidi Part 3: Oil Separator Valve, Oil Funnel, Valve Cover Gaskets

Part 3 takes us under the hood and into the valvetrain and lubrication of the camshafts of this M119 V8. We discover some hardened valve cover gaskets leaking oil on cylinders 1 through 4 and replace both driver and passenger gasket sets. We also find a cracked Mercedes Engine Oil Separator and replace it and the engine oil funnel on the passenger side head by cylinder 4. Turns out the fuel line is on its last leg as we make quick repairs and replace along with the valve cover gaskets. Come along as we dig deep into the parts we bought from FCP Euro as we take our first step into restoring Project Heidi.

Couldve just did all the oilers except for the last one by the timing chain guide it probably would have fixed the tick. This was a good video though, I plan on doing all of my oilers tomorrow.

I might have to do it sooner than later. Front end squeal sounds like the tensioner and belt pulleys but I could be wrong. About to find out when I start working on the accessories and belt replacement.
