I wear an alb and cincture every Sunday at my episcopal church

The Black Robe was more in tune with an academic imagery. Clergy were often those who were most educated in certain communities, and the Black Robe was worn in connection with that background. The Alb, on the other hand, was more connected to service, especially in the days of the early church.

Catholics call these vestments. Priests put on an alb and a cincture. Then they put on a stole. Then they put on a chasuble. In Protestant Churches, clergy fashion is extremely diverse.

It's a fleshly desire to to look more important than everyone else. Anyway it all came about from pagan religions. The body of Christ (the true Church) should have nothing to to with it.

That's a good standpoint but i don't think it matters. Christ wore what he wore and Jewish preisists in sinygogs wore robes to so i don't think it matters what you ware. The point is to distinct that so and so is the pastor but not to lift sombody up in pride.
