5 жыл бұрынI made this video because when I looked up how to remove the muffler there werent any videos of how to do it, just demos. Just thought Id help you guys out how its done. First Id like to say, IT IS A PAIN IN THE ASS to weld back up your exhaust if you dont have access to a lift. I had to remove my tire to make it easier to weld the sides of it, but if you can find an easier way to do it, then by all means go for it. the hardest part is welding it back up if your doing it yourself because of the tight squeeze underneath the car, you barely have enough room for your welding hood. anyway, its worth doing this to get a louder sound from your car and definatly sounds alot better. leave a like if you learned anything from this video and drop a comment if you have any questions. thanks for watching!

Thank you so much for the video. I have the same year v6 an I just took the muffler off yesterday. I've been looking for a solution to straight pipe so it's not dumped under the car. Then I found this! Thank you 🙏🙏

Yeah I took my exhaust off too, and ran a $35 Extra long glasspack with a 45° downturn tip right before the axle. Got rid of like seventy five pounds of steel crap. I'm thinking about Cat delete, have you done that?

I've been running this on a 99 v6 since last year. Sounds pretty good and is the right amount of loud

I want to do this on my mustang as well. But I don’t have the welding tools or anything like that. But when I cut the two end of the muffler, can I just attach a overdoses pipe to go over the rest of the exhaust and use a clamp instead of welding? Oversized *

Rogelio Cruz you can, just cut a bit farther away from each end of the muffler to give yourself clearance so that the clamps are centered

I believe it was 2.5” stainless. just got it from autozone

Nope, not really any drone on the highway and you can easily talk over the exhaust with the windows down but it can be plenty loud when you want it to

How long is the factory muffler?

You can just cut it off, but remove the cut pipe muffler.

Unfortunatly they can’t since they have to comply with all 50 state regs or else most cars will sound much better

Yours has probably been modded before since all v6 mustangs this gen don’t come with dual pipes, and yes if you check under the car it should have 2 mufflers

Comes stock auto, bought mine three days ago and I’m feeling the pain. It literally has a clutch (for looks) pedal installed for when u upgrade it to the manual

Basically what you’re saying is these Essex v6s sound like shit no matter what you do to them lol glasspacks. Straight pipe, no cats, flowmasters…I’ve heard em all. Unless you throw the 4.2 crank in, swap out the cam for some overlap, change the intake, boost it…they sound like ass lol
