I had trouble hearing your voice on this video which normally hasn't been a problem. ... Your videos have really shown me a lot about the bike. The stock bike is a good fit for me .. an older gray head. Going fast on a dirt trail is the last thing I want, for one we have too many deer here. That 2 up climb going slow over grass sold me. I can tie on a deer and back to me 'car' just fine and that is a main reason for me to buy the CT125 Hunter. You certainly covered the bike well, the one thing I have question for is an inline fuel filter. It seems that a fuel injection system should have a filter. My adventures will take me many miles into a 'pine forest' so I need a reliable machine .. I will pay extra for a Honda :o). Thanks again, you're providing a good service to us.

looks like you'll be heading for the hills so this is what i'd do unless things change accessory wise in the next few months. 1. better off road tyres immediately 2. 13t front sprocket apart from that nothing. no need for inline filter. fuel injectbikes have a large filter in the tank surrounding the pump prior to it be despatched to the injector. all you must do is - never let the bike run out of gas- not good as the pump is cooled by petrol and expensive to replace. use good quality gas and you will find it 100% reliable

next time you look at a clip you'll see bird aviaries in the background. the chirping your budgie heard was probably from a colony of 30 blue mask lovebirds chattering merrily away. that mic picks them up very easy. now the others are just local aussie birds which sit in that tree and go for it each time i do a clip....lol no shortage of birds about where i live-either out in the scrub or in town-they are everywhere. i even have a clip on youtube where a female magpie comes walks right inside the house to get some food.

You are never going to buy this bike for any stretch of the mind that included performance!. This bike and those similar in the past are just tremendously reliable and economical. Every old retired motor cyclist really can do with one of these in the shed... Especially to duck down to the bottle shop and grab a cold carton of beer. You cannot help but take the long route there and have to answer all the questions as to "why does it take so long when you go to the bottle shop" when you get home!! Cheap rego and a man's best friend. Sure there are loads of other options but this is just a care free motorbike that will outlast your retirement 😎

I use mine in Thailand, factory suspensions great especially on rocky trails, and I've had no problem with the tires whatsoever I rode it up 3200 ft mountain in Phangna Province Thailand really tough going 4 hours up 4 hours down and no modifications whatsoever although the 13 tooth sprocket would have come in handy,I also use it to ride around the high rubber plantations in Phuket performs brilliantly especially in Monsoon and the front ABS brake works like a dream coming back down off the steep trails up to the rubber plantations.
@ridewithwarro
@ridewithwarro 3 жыл бұрын
yeah i think it depends upon where you live and the riding condition. this way i am in roughly rocky country so good tyre grip is important plus if you get the chance throw on a 13t sprocket and i think you'll be very surprised. either way great little bike to ride-just bought the red version a week ago

not exactly sure but what i can tell you as of ysterday. i fitted the 13t/41rear. did that same hill climb as i did with the 13t/39 except i stopped exactly at the steepest section where those wheel ruts are. got off the bike. checked to see if i was at the very steepest point which i was. got back on and started the bike and rode straight up trouble free. i feel confident now this bike would run with the old durl range bike with this gearing. plus it has power in all 4 gear up to 50 mph i ran inclines yesterday which would stop a standard ct125 dead in its tracks and you know-i have really tested this bike i now have a very good gearing combo for hilly country which works for me

Waro - My Dad always said that a smaller front sprocket would wear more on the chain (more torque?) than a larger rear sprocket. I guess it is a trade off as a larger rear is heavier but the small front wears the chain. Just resealed my 1975 Honda CT90 gas tank as it had gone rotten with the new ethanol/gasoline fuels.... Be safe! Thanks for great videos!!

In reality, dropping one tooth on the front sprocket will show no measurable extra wear on the chain. I doubt anyone could actually tell the difference. And who will actually put the miles on each chain until they are wore out (and how do you actually declare "wore out"?) and compare the miles they got on each.
@jimpierce7347
@jimpierce7347 3 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the many comments on more wear possibly with one tooth less on front sprocket... Thinking back, I believe Mr. Paladin is right as we only saw more wear when my Dad and I were playing sprockets with pumped up BSA 500MX and Triumph 650 for hill climbing... that was when we'd burn Alchy and a little Nitro.... Ahhh... the memories...

say i didn't have this channel and i was just out in the bush riding it at a leasurely pace-it would be fine. but you'd still have to odo something about that front end clunking. like heavier oil or just the spring upgrade kit. the rear shocks i bought may be an over-kill butup front it would be nice. on the sealed stuff it handles it very easy. it does need that 13t sprocket although i am now running/testing a 41t rear

As soon as I saw the title of your clip, I was thinking the same thing as your No. 1 complaint. The price it too high. Not the under $4K MSRP in the North American market, which seems reasonable, but what the dealers will be actually be selling it for in the U.S. Since the CT125 is likely to have a low profit margin for the retail dealer and their commissioned salespersons and because the bike will be in short supply until the pandemic situation is well over with, I have no doubt that most U.S. dealers will be asking at least $1000 more than MSRP for the CT125, at least until the demand for the bike drops way off. And that is going to suck for the bike's customers. But I have no doubt many will pay the extra "fees" and other justifications for raising the price. Years ago I tried to buy a Honda Accord in the SF Bay Area and all of the dealers wanted $3K over the MSRP. I was told that was the price that it was selling for in the local area and if I didn't like it, take a hike. So I did and I bought a GM Saturn instead for exactly the MSRP - no extra fees added.

You are right about your number one hate. I had to play that bit a few times when you said you paid AUD 7,800. This is equivalent to THB 170,714. I just bought the same bike in Bangkok for THB 84,900. Which in AUD, and you will not like this, is AUD 3,879. Maybe I got the conversion wrong as this is half price! Even with import duty and tax somebody is making a killing in Australia. Perhaps I could buy them here, dismantle them and post them to people. I got mine from www.aphonda.co.th/cubhouse/ct125#
@ridewithwarro
@ridewithwarro 3 жыл бұрын
yeah it is a pretty silly price...lol but saying that what can you do about it.....like nothing! anyway its still a pretty fun bike and its a good little package and at $3880 i'd say on the conversion rate an outright bargain.

With all the improvements, WHY DIDN’T THEY CARRY OVER THE DUAL RANGE TRANSMISSION FROM THE CT90/CT110. Seems like a major omission.
@ridewithwarro
@ridewithwarro 2 жыл бұрын
totally new motor for this new release model. because it only has single channel abs -no more coming to Aust from nov as they dont comply. plus heaps of other new bikes too. no duel channel abs fitted and no sale either! i expect honda to release a ct150 within months and after they clear old stock. my bet is it will have 150cc and duel abs and sales back on
@abwdoc
@abwdoc 2 жыл бұрын
That would be amazing !! But still, I want that amazing dual range transmission. You could put your feet down, and have all that low speed torque out the rear wheel. Oh yes…and bigger knobs on the tires. That’d be pretty close to a perfect trail bike.

My ct110 will climb any hill with the sub transmission and i'm 270. Will this bike climb any hill? Wish this new 125 had a sub transmission. I'd buy 2 mikes. I can go up any hill. I agree with your dislikes mate.
@ridewithwarro
@ridewithwarro 3 жыл бұрын
it might have modern tech like fuel inj and abs but unfortunately its not a climber in stock form. it can be improved with the 13t to help it out and i am working on a 14t/41 rear combo but i think after that -party is over...lol

@@n4zou Amen to that. They did that when the ct110 came out and brought it back the next year. I bought the first one, sold it and bought the dual range one. Been happy with it. If they did that to this one, I'd buy one or even 2.

@@mattp9029 the sub transmission is strong in low. i pulled a big boat i couldn't move myself. i still have my ct110, rusting away. I'm going restore some parts and start riding it. this 125 i thought would have more power, not just a few more horses.

ive been tied up with the ct125 for over a year now and actually on my second one in -red what ive found out in thepast year is it doesn't matter what they sell for -its usually how hard they are to get and how long you have to wait to get it. true i have seen them from forums i belong too for $3890 but by the time they ride them out the door its more like $5k plus several of the guys i know in the usa paid well over $5k in the end though one is really buying a nastalga or trip back in time ride-and in doing so like always - one must pay the price...lol
