$280/£200 OEM Gaming PC Anyone can Build!
Building a cheap/budget gaming PC can be a daunting task for beginners/novice builders. In this video I show you HOW TO BUILD a GAMING PC the easy way!
For less than $280/£200 you can pick up an older Dell Optiplex OEM system with an i5 2400/2500 cpu and just install a GTX 750 ti. This will give respectable results at 1080p medium settings on games like GTA V, PREY, DOOM, ROTTR, FALLOUT 4, BATTLEFIELD 1 and even MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA.
So today I show you how to install Nvidia's GTX 750 ti into a DELL OPTIPLEX 790 and then benchmark the old sandy bridge i5 2500 with the Nvidia GTX 750 ti on some recent titles the results may surprise you!
Those of you looking to play at high or even ultra settings should consider an Nvidia GTX 1050/1050 ti without a 6 pin PSU connection, if your budget allows or you get a great deal on a used OEM system.

F7GOS Thanks dude, Yeah sandy/ivy bridge is still decent for games in 2017 when partnered with a budget/midrange GPU.

Loved watching the video. I have the exact pc. Pretty sad, when the only option seems like getting a 750 ti for 100 USD, on eBay 😂. Wanted to originally do a 1050 ti, but..250.00?, new or used is crazy. Guess I’ll wait a few more months and see if prices drop. Keep up the good work.

I have the i7 2600 in my Dell Optiplex. Just one question though. Will the stock psu handle a gtx1050ti? Also. These really wake up with a ssd. I was able to grab a 500gb Samsun evo 850 for $100.

jhugo1986 yea should be fine, I've used a few systems now with stock PSU and gtx 750ti's and other GPU's if there's no 6 pin connector you should be fine. Yea SSD definitely takes these systems into 2018 :)

if the psu could handle it, an amd 7850 hd in there would make it even more a killer.

TheNoobLife Unfortunately I don't own either of those games so I couldn't really give you accurate figures. However check out some other reviews of the GTX 750ti or 1050/1050ti on those titles and I'm sure that should give you a reasonable idea of how they might run.

xanwil I don't own Minecraft but if it can handle Mass Effect Andromeda at medium settings @ 1080p 30FPS I can't imagine it not being able to play Minecraft easily. This is not my main PC but I could happily live with this setup to play games on if I was on a budget. My main is i5 6600k @ 4.6 GHz, 16GB DDR4 @ 2666MHz and a GTX 980 ti @ 1448MHz.

@twistedskinztech3255 7 жыл бұрын
Reverof Enola Yes just buy a GTX 1050ti when you need a performance boost, job done high to ultra 1080p no sweat. You can also sell off your old gtx 750 ti to part fund the 1050ti.
@ReverofEnola

That makes sense. Now did you have to buy a wireless card to connect to the Internet or did you just ethernet?
@twistedskinztech3255
@twistedskinztech3255 7 жыл бұрын
Reverof Enola Yea I just used an Ethernet cable which plugged straight into the back of the pc. Although wireless cards are pretty cheap these days if you want to go that route.

Twisted Skinz Tech Lol last question! Did you have any trouble with the Optiplex actually identifying the GeForce even after downloading the nvidia control panel and looking at device manager? Plus you hooked up a monitor to it using the ports from the GeForce?
@twistedskinztech3255
@twistedskinztech3255 7 жыл бұрын
Once I installed the GPU, I hooked up the DVID cable to the monitor and GPU, turned it on and then downloaded the latest drivers from Nvidia including the Geforce Experience and it recognized the card no problem. The Dell will not recognize your GPU if you connect the DVID/Display Port cable to the back of the PC (must be GPU output to monitor). I also always use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) before installing any new graphics card in case there are files from a conflicting GPU e.g AMD here's the link if you need it dude. www.wagnardsoft.com/ One other point make sure you use the correct cable DVID to DVID or Display Port to Display Port. When I connected a DVID (GPU end) to Display Port (Monitor end) my PC didn't like it and wouldn't even boot. Hope this helps if you're having issues. Cheers Twisted Skinz

do you need a Wi-Fi card with this PC
@twistedskinztech3255
@twistedskinztech3255 7 жыл бұрын
andrew tanis If you want to connect wirelessly then yes. It has an Ethernet connection in the back if you're going wired, which I always prefer myself for stability.
