INFPs: 3 challenging things only INFPs will understand! Sometimes INFPs face contradicting INFP challenges even though they themselves don’t fully understand.
In this video, I cover how they tend to show up and give language to what you may be experiencing but have not previously identified. I talk about procrastination and how it can be a double-edged sword as it is both a source of INFP stress and overwhelming because it is seen as an INFP bad habit, and yet a strength when it comes to creativity, creating confusing INFP contradictions.
I then cover the question of whether INFPs perform well in single-tasking or multitasking? This can be a source of confusion and struggle for an INFP and decide which one should inform their INFP productivity tips.
There are also INFP misconceptions on whether INFPs are risk-takers or cautious personality types! I go over how INFP intuition plays a role in this disposition and how the INFP decision-making process further complicates things.
By the end of the video, you’ll discover how these 3 challenges overlap and be able to recognize how they may be showing up in your life.
Remember to watch the video all the way to the end, as I’ll be giving away resources that will help you to start unraveling these challenges.
To your success,
Doreca Delbridge [Ms. Dory Linda]

THANK YOU, everything you said is very related to me, very good and detailed explanation. I think infp is an overthinking person, even when they are quiet their minds are always crowded and sometimes that can make me tired. And as an infp before doing something, i always think about it deeply, think about the risks that i will face, and overthinking makes me end up not doing it at all
@MsDoryLinda

Hi Heni, yes INFPs are deeper thinkers and that process can overstimulate us and cause exhaustion. It's definitely something to watch out for if you're getting stuck in a loop and struggle to commit to a decision. I talked about this in the new video, here it's if you haven't had a chance to see it yet kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aJOllq-TyrimkYE.html It could be that you're experiencing some negative emotions that need to be acknowledged so you can get out of that loop of deep thinking but no execution/action. Hope that gives you a place to start looking at this and understand what might be going on for you Heni 😊👌🏾 Let me know if you need more help.

6:37 I definitely agree with how I jump from different activities. I don’t exactly multitask, when I’m doing something I’m completely focused on it, but then I get bored and go to somewhere else. Like if I’m playing piano I have fun and play it for an hour or so then get bored and start drawing for an hour then i go play guitar then I go journal and so forth. I used to see this as a negative trait and that I was sad that I could never focus on anything, but I know it’s a part of me and it actually has it’s benefits. Since I’m spending so much time doing a lot of stuff I love (especially during quarantine!) I’m getting better at all of it and having a ton of fun at the same time! The problem with this however is that it’s very inconsistent. I may draw for 8 hours on one day and then not draw for a week, and I also find it very hard to stick to schedules. I’m trying to see how I can be more consistent, your procrastination video really helped! Thank you for your wonderful videos!

I'm so glad you've resonated with the videos I've been posting and are gaining some insights from them. Your comment is so inspiring. At such a challenging time we are in, you've managed to spend more time doing things you love and are getting better at all of it. Have you thought of changing the narrative "Like if I’m playing piano I have fun and play it for an hour or so then GET BORED and start drawing for an hour then i go play guitar then I go journal and so forth..." to saying that you COMPLETED? What if, what you identify as "boredom", is actually a feeling to let you know that you have completed the need to do that task and need to move on to the next? What would that feel like? Turning a negative narrative to something freeing and positive? In response to "The problem with this, however, is that it’s very inconsistent. I may draw for 8 hours on one day and then not draw for a week, and I also find it very hard to stick to schedules. I’m trying to see how I can be more consistent..." I would ask, why do you need this "consistency"? How is your current way of doing things negatively affecting you? Feel free to answer here or if it's something you'd rather communicate privately then feel free to email me at hello@dorylinda.com. I'm so glad you are here and thank you for adding to the conversation.

Oh, oh, oh!!! This! I'm so excited by that perspective you had written about! When I stop doing some project or activity before finishing it completely, I actually do feel like, for me, it's kinda completed for now. Like it needs some time to mature enough to be ready for picking up again ;) I don't feel like picking it up before I feel it's the time so much as if it's repelling me ;)

What's scaring me is what you wrote. I'm literally the same, I draw, I'm learning to play piano, I play the guitar and I journal a lot. I do the exactly same things you do.

As an INFP, I find I really like to multitask. As a musician/producer, I've learned 15-20 instruments rather than just a few so I can switch one out when I'm bored/uninterested in it. I am also working on writing/recording two albums at once. Sometimes this approach works out really well for me, but at times it definitely prevents me from finishing tasks. I definitely feel there is a lot I can offer the world and have learned to fight procrastination pretty well so as to do that, but it often results in the opposite problem; overwork.

Definitely a multitasker, 100%. I love giving myself the freedom to explore all my creative endeavors, however I get really frustrated because it typically takes me a long time to finish projects. I think a lot of this has to do with perfectionism. Sometimes I love having deadlines because it literally forces me to finish things, and therefore perfectionism isn't really an option. At the same time though, HATE deadlines. They stress me out- my time, my rules! I don't think I'll ever be able to create self imposed arbitrary deadlines that I strictly follow. I'm working on surrendering/ embracing my natural creative process, while at the same time actively seeking out freelance opportunities with strict deadlines to keep me feeling like I'm progressing forward in a measurable way.
@MsDoryLinda

The contradictions we face hey!! It definitely helps to know when to halt exploration, zone in what's at hand and get that finished. Otherwise we feel frustrated that we never fully get to see our visions come to fruition.

The one about procrastination is so true. I just let the things build up and then right before it’s too late to get everything done, there is this burst of which is like the last drop in a barrel before it just bursts and I get this rush of super high productivity and focus. And everytime I tell myself that next time I’ll make a schedule and everytime I trick myself into breaking it and procrastinating again.

I do multitask like listening to music, eating and dancing altogether. Or researching different but related or unrelated subjects at the same time. Or jumping activities such as studying, dancing, folding clothes, listening to music, washing dishes, playing with the cats, back to studying or watching educational videos, eating, meditating and also taking some silent pause in between all of it. I eventually go back to my hobbies and activities if they still interest me. I do get bored of everything eventually. Sometimes, I feel I lack motivation. I also need some outside stimulation and talking to close friends to help me relax and enjoy life more. I always enjoyed a balance between having fun and spending time with close friends and family. But, eventually, spending plenty of time alone was essential for my mental health. However, I do need to see and talk to people everyday.Does that make me an ENFP instead?

Mid 50's now, only just looking into personality types. Definitely INFP (only on recent reflection F more than T, I and P are quite extreme) - I identify with all three challenges constantly. As a Christian I am very committed to the message but find the personality type irritating as well as being aware of many positives. I never knew what I wanted to do for a career, worked 14 years in office team environment but never happy. Tried small business but difficult cope with the discipline in so many routine supplementary tasks that you need to be on top of. Worked with a Christian mission for a while, but being full on with social contact and making new brief contacts one after another was so tiring. Have had fairly long-term responsibilities caring for parents, try to do blogs and photography but even as spare time "hobbies" procrastination kicks in... (must watch the video...) Anyway, this video really hits the spot, and helps to know someone somewhere understands.

From a Christian perspective, I tend to look at challenges as buffers, to keep us leaning and connected. I see them as ways to developing faith. When I look at them that way they stop being hinderances and become opportunities for growth. It's simple just not easy. So I completely understand where you're coming from.

I'm clearly an INFP...I am not a risk taker on any level. And it's always been my opinion that people can't multitask. They might be able to do it, but one of the tasks suffers. I'm not only an INFP but have a Gemini sun which also flits from one thing to the other. I'm 73 now and honestly, I've spent years talking to myself and telling myself to finish what I started. It's interesting if it is something I love to do that isn't hard. But through my efforts I have made better progress with finishing things. I must say this pandemic and isolation has been playing havoc with my mind. I've processed internally enough now to last a life time. Because even though I am an INFP, I love people and miss people. I do better one on one. Three is a crowd to me. I might have a Gemini sun but have an intuitive Cancer Moon and Psychic Pisces rising that feeds right into my INFP. I really liked what you talked about.

The risk taker vs cautious one had me chuckling because 2 days ago I decided to go on the first Rollercoaster ever. It was tiny, but to me, it was mount everest. I kept saying "Susan, your kids want you to be risky and have fun. You used to love rides. But you also know this will be terrifying at your age and could make you have a panic attack. Might even die. For real." I went anyways against my own better judgment. I SCREAMED like a crazy person on this baby Rollercoaster, and SHRIEKED the "f" word at the bottom of the hill. I was so mortified and humiliated. I hung my head in shame when I got off. My whole body vibrated. But I had a high feeling and started laughing at myself and couldn't stop. It was quite the thing for me. I DO like to take different kinds of risks, but are they really risks when I overthink the risks before I even do them? 😂

I started a book 7 years ago, had some moments of motivation and regularity, but then dropped it so many times it's ridiculous... I wish I had the discipline to do it regularly, but I don't. I tried to write every morning of the week, but stopped after few weeks, forgot about it for a few months, then tried again etc. I understand completely how easy it is to procrastinate as I don't have any deadline. Multitask is not healthy for anyone, especially infp. It hinders people from mastering new skills or talents. For each idea, complete it, and then move on or connect the experience with new experiences. In this matter, Shiny Object Syndrome is a killer. I think the greatest achievement of an infp is "structuring, organizing" activities to line up with their desired long term goals and values. More importantly, learning how to fit Shiny Objects into their life's long term plan. One simple way would be to identify and stick to non-negotiable long term life goals. Thank you for making & sharing this video.

Great points and recommendations, thank you for sharing these ☺️ For some personality types though they do need variety and they do gain more momentum and fulfillment that way. So even though they're not multi tasking per se, they do have a few pots on the stove at the same time. There's never a one size fits all even within same personality types as there are so many nuisances to take into account. So it's important for each person to weigh all aspects and put a plan together that's customized for how they're uniquely wired.

True. Well said. In my opinion, Variety is a form of mental break or vacation. Multitasking can be a form of mental escape from stress. Too short of it, can lead to exhaustion. Too much of it, 😆🌴😂🏝️💖🏖️, everyone would love that, but it takes away two (very) valuable assets from us; that is, our time (the clock ⏰ is marching forward), and our health (in AI language, we can call that our "battery life"). A mental break is absolutely necessary from ones long term goals and plans. And sometimes, our side projects line up to become valuable assets for us in the long run/term. However, too many short term projects, takes away time, energy, health, from the main goal. The only exception is when these short term projects assist us in developing our long term goal, consciously or subconsciously. No activity is a waste, however, every activity comes at the cost of time, and energy, (health-battery life). So we must make sure that what we are doing is worthwhile; and whether we like it or not, the question will keep haunting us, 'are we making the best use of our time, energy, and resources?'. INFPs are gifted at getting easily distracted. So this is an important issue to address. In order to succeed in life, infps must complete projects, and keep developing skills that will make them or keep them moving towards their main goals in life; to keep them financially independent, and help them to harness their creativity even when they grow frail, old and weak. We don't have a choice sometimes. It's necessary to give our time and energy to seemingly distracting tasks that are necessary. But the sweet thing is that these tasks may subconsciously become our greatest gifts and talents or contributors to our life's long term goals. Shiny Object Syndrome affects people who always do better at seeing things happening outside what they are doing ad-interim or they are stuck in mundane routines for any reason. This is a huge distraction. They fail to develop skills to work effectively. I guess the cross road between all endeavors is re-evaluating ourselves from time to time and making sure that we are moving towards our main goals in life as quickly as we can. No activity can be classified as a recipe for failure in life, every task helps us in some way. However, the quickest way or approach to succeed in life, is to focus on one thing at a time, completing tasks that help us to grow 🪴 in what we value. An example is this, a person decides to help the old, the poor, the sick, the needy, the orphans, the travelers, the weak, the handicapped. His friend decides to help, just the old. Both of them will contribute significantly to society and help people. But the first one, will not be able to build an old home or a nursing home as quickly as the latter. There are so many things to do. It's impossible to move forward or make a significant impact in any of the myriad of tasks. Because ones time and energy, is spread out, his or her attention is divided, and spent on multiple tasks. But eventually, it's all about what we value. Both Individuals in this example (above) may be happy with their accomplishments. Here is the subconscious mind asking us a subtle valuable question?. 1. Does this task make you happy? Yes. Then multitasking (or sticking to one task) may be your thing. But there is a difference between long term happiness and short term happiness. We must make sure we are focused on "long term happiness". Our daily activities, will not take us far as quickly as demand presents, if so many secondary tasks are lined up ahead of us. It's like moving in a serpentine fashion towards a fixed target. 2. Does our current activity make us complete long term projects? Yes, but it always takes longer for multi-taskers, Projects suffer when time and energy is drained by new or secondary tasks. In life the ones who gain valuable skills, become doctors, professionals, lawyers, business tycoons, leaders etc. But it is amazing to note that even the poorest of the poor are satisfied with their life's achievement. It's all up in the mindset. They may not be financially independent or leading multinational corporations, but they have achieved the happiness each one of us struggles for. In summary, It's essential not to get side tracked during mental breaks or multitasking, it's more important, in my opinion, for INFPs to stick to one long term non-negotiable goal (at a time) like it's the true north, or most revered goal and value), on a compass 🧭 in your hand - your life compass. INFPs who have reached their full potential in life may look back and see that it was skills that they developed, which yielded the most significant impact on their life. I do not worry a lot, because we all gravitate towards what we are best at...what is easy for us and fuels our passion. One goal at a time is the best way to move forward in this age of redundant information and technology. Those who have several projects going on, learn it eventually, at the expense of time and energy, that those who developed a specialized set of skills quickly become independent financially in societies sooner and they make bigger impacts and fulfill their responsibilities more aptly. We age. One person keeps helping others and doing tasks. The other develops a skill to be special at something. It's hard to say which is better, but the latter is more likely to be Independent and financially buoyant, if confounding factors are excluded. I have gotten good at writing long lengthy boring epistles - it's my thing... And i have been warned countless times, wasting ones time will have repercussions when one is old. So we must think hard and plan for our future and old age. Everyday, if what we do makes us long term happy, meaning our activities align with our long term goals. , Then we must complete tasks and bring the mental picture of success to reality. Thank you doc, 😌🌴 this was kind of like therapy for me...😎👍🏖️💖 I appreciate you discussing this topic with us.

I can feel these... And i can only focus on one work at a time.. I realised it long time ago.. Cz I'm a dancer, whenever i prepared for a programme, i couldn’t focus on studies. Even, if my exam is going to held right after the programme, i couldn’t do anything about it.. Cause i couldn’t stop thinking about the choreography, movements etc etc... As for the first point, i noticed it for a long time that rather than doing it early, i can quickly response to situations, and It's even better. Cause when i start projects early,i have enough time to think.. So sometimes it becomes a problem.. Cause sometimes i can't rearrange the thoughts, end up choosing a idea to do it and feel dissatisfy latter thinking that maybe i could come up with a better idea... But when it do the project in a rush, i just do it.. Cause i Don’t have enough time to think..and my brain automatically comes up with some main points only so it becomes easy to choose them... And if i can't, It's a disaster 😑 And the third one, i would love to see myself a risk taker.. But the reality is I'm not.. Just like u've said that i can see so many possibilities, so at the same time i can measure the percentage of failure of every choice i make... So when i know even if i take the risk, It's not a good decision, i don’t feel comfortable to take the risk..

Thank you for this vocalisation of exactly what goes on in my head daily! I am a self employed illustrator/artist and am always self assessing the 3 areas you cover. I don't have an answer to which approaches work best as I am too busy procrastinating over them! Haha! Finding a balance of whether to work on one piece or several at once has always been tricky. I have learned to go with what feels best at the time and that some days I am drawn to one project and the next another different one. This can even jump several times in one day. Maybe confidence is the key in my creative world. Pushing to conclude a piece of work I'm enjoying is often hampered by the worry I am going to overwork or make mistakes on the artwork - this will be the perfectionist and fraud mindsets playing with me. By pausing and moving on with something else I can often return to the original piece with fresh eyes and start to see the bits I'm happy with rather than the mistakes I could previously see. This has all been a bit of a revelation to me after taking the Myers Briggs Test and finding your videos explaining our INFP-T traits. Thank you!

I can definitely do both - single and multi task - for the reasons you mentioned. I do one thing at a time so I can focus my full attention and get it done efficiently, because it's less overwhelming on its own. But if I am able to stack tasks together, especially if they don't take too much brain capacity, I definitely will. For me the Procrastination paradox and the Risk-taking go hand-in-hand. Normally, I pretty much play it safe. But, when I'm in a deadline time-crunch, or when I have this great idea that I personally want to see completed now, I'm willing to make more risky choices. I think it's because, in those intense times, my Si (which is there to keep me safe) is overridden by the Fi's desire to complete this project or idea, and my Ne is essentially given full executive powers over the government of my brain to do what is needed to get the job done. I will admit, also like you've heard many times, that my work in those frenzied times is often much better than it would have been had I allowed my Si to stick to what has worked in the past. -- Thank you for your channel!

Hi! The contradiction about being a multitask vs single task made me laugh because it is so true! I Don't know what 's best. In one hand, having plenty projects at the same time is making my mind even more disorganised than it is already, which makes me feel bad. And in the other, i' m often bored with a single project especially if it's a long term one. Thank you for the video, it is really helping. Bye
@MsDoryLinda
@MsDoryLinda 3 жыл бұрын
It's definitely interesting how we think we can multitask right? In actuality, what we are doing is simply shift attention from one thing to another (which would explain why your mind feels disorganized). Another explanation is that we're only truly paying attention to one thing while applying automaticity on other tasks. We can't truly be fully engaged in two different things at the same time right?! Although we do try 😄

So true that the outcome is better when I do it last minute... lol I read in a book (the title is on the tip of my tough...), that creatives are more likely to procrastinate and do their best procrastinating a little, where as others who ‘pre-crastinate’ are not as creative. I like to juggle multiple things .. it’s so hard to do just one thing at a time. Yes. It takes a lot for us to just focus on one thing. Even when I'm doing that, I tend to stay open to ideas that may come through for other projects. Now I know not to start them, but to write those ideas down and execute them later. So I get both, the fun and excitement of new ideas, and fulfillment of seeing things through, whenever appropriate. Because sometimes some things naturally just develop overtime, and are supposed to be worked as and when they call for it. I'm glad you enjoyed this and could resonate with the concepts 🤗

Damn, it's so scary I relate so much to all of that. I think I started reading like 20 different books. I always get bored very fast. The same with music. I start learning 10 different songs on piano, I know all the intros, then I just begin learning some guitar songs. After a while I come back to it, but it's not like I'm gonna finish it soon. I actually think I'm spending more time looking for the next big book or song I'm gonna try than actually doing that, ahah. I struggle A LOT with starting and sticking to one thing. 🙄 Beside that, I've been and still am somehow into poetry, drawing and swimming and a lot of other stuff but none of that are really consistent and I don't feel like I'm really that good at any of that. I've actually taken an year off to decide if I should go to psychology. As for last minute procrastination, I think the fact that I studied the 350 pages book for the car theory exams doing quizzes at the same time in just the 2 days before the exam, passing it, explains it all.

I think I mix between single tasking and multitasking... so for example, if am working on a task at work, then an email comes in and in my head I think it's a good idea to address it now so thatbi cab get an answer by the afternoon to close off the issue, then I'll drop what I am doing and work on that task instead. I tend to be able to concentrate or focus on a task if I feel it will add the most value to my day doing it in that order .... I need to definitly "feel" motivated to do tasks, and I often find myself prioritising based on what I "feel" like actioning, or what I think is "important" in the bigger picture

That's so interesting, I think that's a natural way us intuitive creatives work. I bet sometimes those songs 🎵 you've left unfinished were probably a sounding board or inspiration for something else. I like to think they fulfilled their purpose 😄. The only time I see this way of working as problematic is when it's actually procrastination triggered by the fear of completing that project. The trail of thought is, if I finish it then it can be judged, then potentially rejected, which means they're rejecting me. Now, if that happening, then that's detrimental to the creative process. But if it's not from this place, then I think it's actually a healthy and natural way us intuitive creatives operate.

I tend to jump from one thing to another. I get too focused on whatever is my current thing to multitask, yet, like you said, I do get bored rather quickly. I have many unfinished art projects, I attempted to learn Japanese, I later attempted to learn to play ukulele, and such. I sometimes wonder if my super focus on my current interest is what actually causes me to quickly bore of it. It usually takes most of my focus all day whatever that thing is. So I try to find a way to break that up and not focus on a single exciting thing, basically I try to multitask, but only find myself overwhelmed and bored with everything, leaving me feeling restless and overall dissatisfied. Now, this isn't to say that I never finish anything, because I certainly do finish things. Most often as a result of having a deadline and having procrastinated so that I have a limited amount of time to get it done. Basically it had to be finished before I got bored with it. Then on the rarer occurance, there are some things that I end up not getting bored with until they are finished. Several art peices I have are examples of this. Most of them are illustrations of DnD chatacters I was excited about.

Sounds like you've found rhythms that work for you. Most of us INFPs work in circles and go through projects and hobbies and draw out what we need and move on. It's like drinking half a glass of water and then leaving the rest. There's no need to "finish" the water that's in the glass if the amount drunk fulfilled the purpose of quenching the thirst right?

Yeah, I know this phenomenon very well that I start things, then after a while stop them and come back to them later. That is like totally normal for me. I also know a phenomenon where something, like an idea is just stuck in my head and even if I know that it is a bad idea, I first have to do something with it, like writing it down, or deeply thing and feel through it, but once I have done this, it is gone so that my head is free of it now and often going this "wrong" path actually lead me to discover a much, much better or even perfect alternative idea or a solution to something else that I was thinking about. I don't know if anyone else can relate to that...

Totally!! That's my process too. It's how one idea builds on another and evolves into a workable one. Sometimes it takes me weeks to "complete" and idea. It trickles down bit by bit and I just record and let it sit, until I get a feeling that it's done.

@@MsDoryLinda yeah, I know that. And often that "perfectionism" also keeps driving these ideas forward and they are getting improved and improved and improved upon. I have a long-term project, which is more like a hobby, and for this this the perfectionism is actually desirable. Stuff like that would rarely work in an ordinary job.

I always get stopped by strangers and they ask for directions usually when I’m trying to be alone in public areas. They zero in on the one person sitting away from everyone and with earphones on. Sometimes people I know ask me for life advice and it always confuses me cause I’m not good with humans and life in general. Why do you want to ask someone who doubts themself and is constantly chopping and changing their mind is beyond my understanding. I just give them what they want so I can go back to me and when I problem solve I have to think if I was in their shoes what would be the best course of action. It uses so much time and energy that I end up frustrated that I got distracted

I multi-task a lot. It shows especially with my hobbies. I start a lot of things but I don't always finish them. It's really frustrating at times but I can't seem to help it.😅

I'm curious, which aspect is the most frustrating for you? Do you actually want/need those projects finished? Or do you feel projects should be finished regardless of whether you want/need them? In which case you're frustrated that you aren't doing that?
@nabi7486
@nabi7486 3 жыл бұрын
Ms Dory Linda I'm mostly frustrated with how I just easily lose the motivation to complete it. I just feel like I'm supposed to be finishing something I started regardless whether I want or need to finish that certain project. And even though I have done it a lot, the thought of the growing amount of unfinished projects I have also overwhelms me and just adds to that frustration. But it's also funny how that frustration turns into some kind of motivation for me to finish those projects.😆

@@nabi7486 that's what I see most of us struggle with... the feeling of, "I'm SUPPOSED to finish"! What I've started asking is what does finish fulfill? Could the purpose of doing that project be fulfilled even if the project isn't "finished"? 🤔 Maybe we need to start asking ourselves what's the purpose of what we do rather than the mechanics of it. You know!!

That second issue for INFPs would make an amazingly helpful video idea all on its own. Is there anything an INFP can do to stop drowning in half-finished projects?

I cant have to much on my table i just wont do any of it or procrastinate and do them as the deadlines approach for each one. I know myself i tell myself all the time i set a plan then i sabbotage myself because i know who i am and i know what im going to do its diificult to deal with sometimes. Im a single tasker risk taker who procrastinates on decision.

Thanks for these videos! I keep trying to use daily planners or create schedules (i.e. arm workout on Tuesday, leg workout on Thursday) but it does not work for me. Then l still look up more planner and schedule videos on KZfaq, lol.

@@MsDoryLinda It seems like I want a schedule and routine, but then I do not. I am thinking of maybe setting weekly or monthly goals, for example, toning workout 2 times a week. Thanks for the reply!

Instead of goals maybe call them intentions and see how that feels for you. For most goals feel like something they must achieve, and feel like they've failed when they don't. Intentions feel like something you're going towards without the judgment of achievement or not.

@@MsDoryLinda Thanks! Any tips for balancing hobbies? Do you think theme days/ assigning days like Monday is sewing and Saturday is gardening or having intentions like garden 2 days a week and sew once a month is better? Thanks!

Theme days and blocking days have worked best for me. I don't have to do that thing on those days but they act as guidance and takes away the chaos of not knowing when I can do what.

Here's a thing. Nothing is ever good enough. I find myself writing then rewriting and rewriting something...like a comment...and just deleting it because there are just too many thoughts connected to the each word and too many options. I can't settle on phrasing and by the time I finish hashing out words the whole thing just looks like too much work for the thought. (This is the 2nd comment with multiple edits. I deleted the first comment before I even sent this one)

I'm glad you allowed this comment to stay. You're not alone in this. I've received notifications multipe times of comments that I later never find because people have come back and deleted them. When we're willing to just show up, it shows we're growing in allowing ourselves to be present and take space in this world, just as we are.
