I think destroying the forest like this to make Green Energy is the perfect example of an Oxymoron if I ever heard one

Absolutely, no such thing as green energy when you look at how much land gets destroyed. Pure greed not green.

Its such a shame how much of this type of environmental impact goes on without the repercussions being noticed by enough. 😢 Good on you for taking the time to prepare this information to youtube. 👍👍

It broke my heart the first time I saw this area a few years ago. It’s not far from my old cabin. It’s in ruins now . Maybe rebuild when I retire. As of last year there was still trees around my cabin area but that could be changed now. Will find out my next trip home. All the best to you .

Same thing happen where I am in New Hampshire we no longer have native brook trout because of sediment in the streams. So sad sorry for your loss!

The Pulp N Paper Mill in Corner Brook, main reason for the clear cutting. 40 - 45 year cycle, they clear cut. Also these Mills have contaminated their regions for years. The Bay of Islands near Corner Brook and Bay St.Georges have been contaminated, the Mill in Stephenville closed in 2005.

Memories flowing back for me about school in Stephenville out there doing our work we faced all those rules the harvesters are designed to flatten everything !

They sure make quick work of everything. And leave the land trenched with deep ruts every where they pass

They are doing the same down here clearcutting to make bluberry fields . Right up to where it goes down Hill, on the big tracadie river in NB. A river that still have salmon , trout in it.

They need to step back, re-evaluate what they have done in the past, see how it affected the environment to the smallest detail, adjust they short comings and do it better in the next zone.

The silt from heavy runoff will deposit a layer of silt over the spawning beds. Trout & salmon can only spawn on clean stone. Woodland caribou feed primarily on the lichens hanging off the mature trees. The tire tracks dig deep into the ground & expose the soil which will be channels for runoff into the rivers. The buffer zones can't stop or even slow down the runoff. This sort of thing is happening in more areas than the public is aware of. Do you know if there is a reforestation program?

Very sad state of affairs especially during these times. When spring and summers are hotter and drier and year after year the wildfires claim so much .... People need to realize that every second breathe we take come from the forest and the other from the oceans...

Great drone footage! Sad to see and all too familiar for us on this coast though. Only time will tell on how much impact that will have on those rivers. All the best and hoping for the best. 🇨🇦👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks for posting this video Charlie. It is Eye-Opening to say the least and the information you provide in your commentary is clear and concise. Perhaps all the jobs they speak of coming from these Wind Farm developments, are only those required for cutting down the forest? There are certainly only a very few long-term jobs that have been created anywhere else in the world where these developments have happened. I am not sure how they can continue to say that with a Straight Face, as their main point trying to sell all of this to the public. Perhaps they think all of us on the island are too stunned to know any better?

Logging companies and governments will never learn. Clear cuts are adding to climate change and global warming. I feel for mother earth. Wildlife will suffer.

They will not stop cutting until there is nothing left to cut. I am not surprised. Our government officials in this province don't do anything to deterr this sort of abuse . This is how all of our resources are managed or should I say mismanaged. Very sad indeed.

That's some crazy irresponsible forestry. Those ruts are not going anywhere, on a human timescale, they're forever. Some people just do what they can get away with instead of what they should. KZfaq keeps trying to delete this comment. 🤨

That is some crazy irresponsible forestry right there. Those ruts are not going anywhere, on a human timescale, they are permanent, forever. Some people just do whatever they can get away with, instead of what they know is right.

MMA 17 Millertown is destroyed as well. Our government has sold our resources, ruining the habitat of wildlife and it will take 50 years to recover. Some wildlife will never recover. Very poor conservation.

Great video Charlie, hey MMA 09 and 10 was done the same way on west coast of the island . Grand Codroy and little river in our area is kill from run off Charlie . Logging road just open the country up for ATV driver in the fall to shoot at game at far as there see for mostly fun . Hear them talk about there long shot with there mag rifles. One ☝️ out 10 find there moose if there look 👀 for it . The other 9 die for bear food . You be lucky to see game in MMA 09 and 10 , fishing is a joke now be luck 🍀 to get a trout for lunch if you try . Just remember it was our grandfather kill the land with horses 🐎 and buck saw . Big processor now to clear cut to make there bank payments and feed the one ☝️ pulp mill left on the rock 🪨. Charlie going to take west coast another 100 years to come back if it come back my friend. 😮
